When he faked the heart attack on the outside....I legit thought it was a shoot and I guarantee Taker, Foley and Brett on the outside thought so as well. You could see Taker having anxiety through the whole thing. He wasn't even looking at the match, he was just looking at the floor, wide-eyed and tense.

This should be a strong lesson for Taker in if you know your body cannot do what it used to, don't tempt fate and end up like Ric.. Oh wait, there was the Saudi Arabia debacle and the Roman Reigns match. Take the hint Taker, please don't go back because you were most likely looking at a harsh reality about yourself. You don't have anything to prove to anyone and your shit is forever emulated for many generations to enjoy.

For those of us who grew up on 80's wrestling and the Horsemen era, this match - while it was fun for what it was intended to be - was a sobering reminder of the fact that father time and mother nature are undefeated. His hands started shaking earlier than the superplex. There's a point you can see from the fancam footage about 15 minutes in. he's on the apron and starts looking at his hands in a really disturbing manner completely ignoring the double down in the ring. The ref has to go over to him and remind him he needs to come in to interfere and he takes forever going under the middle rope to do so then Jay Lethal bounces through a dozen flips and spots while Flair hits the weakest chops ever seen. I can imagine what Taker said to him at the end when he whispered in his ear and I hope Ric listens.

For this to be Ric's last match, and more importantly the end of the 24/7 "Nature Boy" kayfabing, he needs people around him to care about the man, not the nostalgia act. Poor guy needs help. He takes no pleasure or happiness in anything else, and has no self worth outside the ring. 40 years of doing the same habitual behavior needs to be broken, but too many leeches and enablers get caught up in the facade. This is a tragedy that's sold as a lighthearted comedy.

The guy has gotten alot of help over the years and it never works. His big need is always for more money. And when he needs money, he always goes back to wrestling. Its not just performing. The match was exactly what I was expecting it to be I don't know what more people wanted from a guy in his 70s other than maybe him not being in the ring at all? I would've personally preferred him not to have done the match but he did and it went realistically as expected in my book

I was expecting him to be able to at least do his own trademark strut. There were moments here where he looked like he didn't know where he was.

Nobody wanted this to happen, other than those looking to make money off it. It was a bad idea. He had a phenomenal last match versus Shawn Micheals at Wrestlemania, then a great send off on Raw, but he threw it all away trying to emulate The Wrestler movie. He apparently thought that was aspirational rather than tragic.

Can’t have it both ways tho… if your charging people an arm n a leg to watch this, it better be worth it, if not, don’t even bother. If you say he’s 73 years old, your right.. retire then and enjoy what’s left of your life.
