Man thank you so much for these kind words!! I’m so glad you enjoyed the song, and you can count on me to keep making crazy baselines!!

Whoa! Thanks for dropping by my little corner of the internet. I had heard the entire Solveig album quite some time ago but didn't remember these wild basslines so that was a huge surprise for me. Which is awesome since I love when a band can continue to surprise me. I'm even more stoked to dig into more singles now; as well as checking out the full album in June.

Man... Adrienne's voice is just beast mode. She has so much power and stamina! What a talent.

Adrienne is a pretty skilled vocalist, that's fo sho. She's one of those female vocalists you can tell are in the band for their talent. if you liked the arpeggios and projections in this song you might want to check out assemble the chariots - engulfed by sun, plenty of cool guitar wankery of this variety there. But you know what my first song suggestion is already haha

You are right, I just wanna point out that this is her band, she founded it and she writes the music. Without her this band doesn't exist

Fun fact, the video was directed by Chris Kells, who was bassist in The Agonist until they disbanded. And in the music there are always references to other songs with short melodies or themes, since all their albums are part of one story

I'm hype for this release and already pre-ordered it. Releases June 21st this year. They picked a good single, it showcases a lot of what makes them great. And I'm absolutely expecting some more tasty bass lines in the rest of the album.

It was great to see that you checked out this track, I have had it on loop since it dropped. As mentioned before, the first three albums are a concept trilogy, if you Google Seven Spires lore it will give you the complete story. It would seem this upcoming album is going to tie into that lore, possibly from the antagonists perspective? Maybe the protagonist from the original trilogy has evolved and become something darker? The lyrics mention some of their previous songs; Drowner of worlds, Cabaret of dreams. A definite link is there. There are also some people wondering if the Architect is some form of meta for Adrienne and the world that she has created. None the less, I am also excited for this project. Vinyl is ordered! (I still think you should try and get Adrienne for a podcast by the way).

Gods of Debauchery had happy ending. People speculate that this album is between Solveig and GOD (haha, just realized the acronym) or it focuses on Solveig's successor.

@@Pravdacz-tp8zu I love that there is mystery around what the new chapter could be and that fans are talking about it. It makes it tons more exciting than your average album release. As for the theory of it being Solveig's successor, it could well be. Another keeper of souls, the video for Architect of creation certainly portrays the dark souls in the sky.

Also stoked for the album. As always in metal, i almost never notice bassists upon first listen. Glad to actually go back and give praise now that you've done the work for me 😅

This band is basically Dimmu Borgir for the younger audiences. Definitely on my to-deep-dive list. From what I read on another comment though, they didn't use clean vocals on older tracks? A bit surprising, considering how AMAZING she sounds, but I guess they were/are aiming for a different vibe and audience. Great reaction as always. Love the enthusiasm whenever you get to hear cool bass licks lmao

dimu and kamelot among other bands, Adrienne Cowan mentioned these influences in an interview. The vocalist is on another level as well.

I believe that Adrienne, the singer, also studied vocal performance & songwriting at the Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford, UK, along the way.

Purists will balk at the clean vocals, but for me this was just super fun riffs: great riffs, awesome drum/bass playing, cool orchestral atmospherics, and I really enjoyed the mix of clean and harsh vocals. Also really appreciated the clean production. Definitely the kind of BM I can get into. Will have to check these guys out.

No. Becoming a patron allows you to steer where the channel goes but not directly choose songs. You're looking for Special Selection for that -- a flat $30 fee for a guaranteed song reaction. You can find links for that at linktr.ee/criticalreactions -- there are two links for Special Selections Submissions, one for Ko-Fi and one for Paypal. There's no difference between the two, just pick the platform you're more comfortable with.
