Our Mission
Founded in 1997 in Cedar City Utah, we are a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to wildlife rescue and rehabilitation, wildlife and environmental education, and the development of the Cedar Canyon Nature Park.
Rescue, Rehabilitate and Release
The Southwest Wildlife Foundation of Utah (SWF) cares for more than 100 sick, injured and orphaned native wildlife annually. Restoring them to health and returning them to the wild is our primary goal, but for those that cannot be released due to disabilities, the Cedar Canyon Nature Park (CCNP) can provide them with a permanent home in a natural setting while enhancing our visitors educational experience at the park.
Informing, Educating and Inspiring
The SWF provides over 100 educational programs reaching over 30,000 people annually. We believe providing educational outreach programs to schools, scout groups and community events, with focus on children and families, will make the greatest impact in preserving our wildlife, the environment, our public lands and our resources for future generations to enjoy.
Martin Tyner
Since age twelve, with a bird on his arm, Martin has captivated audiences sharing his knowledge and experience of his wildlife friends.
At age nineteen, Martin was hired as curator of birds of prey at Busch Gardens, CA. He also worked in the movie and television industry training big cats, elephants, primates, sea mammals and raptors.
“One of my greatest childhood fantasies was the desire to create a personal friendship with a wild eagle. I found myself with a love and fascination for these powerful creatures.”
Martin Tyner is a federally licensed falconer, eagle falconer, wildlife rehabilitator, wildlife propagator, and wildlife and environmental educator.
He has been providing wildlife and environmental programs throughout the western United States, to schools, scouts and community groups for over fifty years.

thank you everyone that is helping these wonderful people because no matter how much we want to help birds we need to be able to find people that will do the work and it looks like a lot of work. it looks like you need to dedicate your life to it

Uh Martin, I think Belle's trying to get your attention!! Really is!!! Cody is awesome resting his head on Susan's leg and you never not pay attention to him. You both give your love to all the critters. You must have wonderful friends who love you so. You both deserve every ounce of love. If I lived in Utah, I'd love to volunteer for anything.

Aw, the poor cutie pie! Was his/her paw hurting? I enlarged and notice the bird is holding 1 paw/claw up. Wonderful that people are sending you much needed supplies. These videos are amazing: at least that's one way to give to a charity where the money spent REALLY goes to help, instead of "national charities" where "they" pocket $1.50 out of every dollar donated! >.< (Yes, the math is on purpose, to make a point, seen that happen first-hand!) Keep up the wonderful work, how blessed you are to have the health and resources to work closely with animals. Blessings to you, always!

Martin and wife Sue got a hammer for Xmas!!! I once gave a 7 yr old nephew a toolbox when I first met him, and his mother got real mad at me. Whatever. I might now give her a hammer this year. Or..... maybe a mallet. Merry Xmas to you both this 2019 year.

The real trick is in timing. Not always easy to take along a camera person at a moment's notice and Martin's prority is the critter, not the cameras.

@@GowildlifeOrg I was just talking about training to use in downtime. Trial by fire when critters need rescuing is difficult I understand.
Warms my heart to see you get some of the things you need. Tip for printing... (though you probably already know) an office printer uses less ink than a personal one. Which surprised me. For example my HP Office Jet Pro 8710 uses about a third the ink (for the same number pages printed) than the HP personal one I had. Dunno why they make them like that, but anyways. Merry Christmas! 🎄 Edit lol. Just noticed this vid is last years. Still great ha:)
