The biggest hype for Ange is how he's transformed an unstable Spurs team that still had Kane and Son. Without Kane he was able to sit on top of the league for a bit and transform Spurs into a team with solid attack and strategy. The problem was always going to be the strength of the squad though. I think he deserves credit

I remember you lot dismantled city, destroyed united, beat Arsenal, Beat chelsea in the cup in that time period and then Bergwijn hit the post vs liverpool and Firmino scored the winner and your season unravelled. Conte to a lesser extent had that bounce to get u into top 4 so i think its fair to temper praise on what Ange has done so far

The absolute gaul to say that any coach does not know who they are playing is disingenuous. If you were to reframe it. He geneuinely thought he could beat Chelsea with 9 men, that is what all the games he has watched about chelsea told him, that is what he learned.

This whole narrative that Spurs fans were/are getting ‘too chippy’ is just nonsense. Pretty much every Spurs fan realises that winning the league this season is incredibly unlikely, we’re just happy to see exciting football again after so many seasons. As for the Chelsea game, had Spurs dropped deep they’d pretty much certainly have lost anyway with 9 men. As it was Spurs we’re inches from making it 2-2 with Dier’s offside goal, and they had two good chances with Bentancur and Son as well.

You cannot play in a low block with 1 recognised CB playing the first minutes of his year. It means you do not win the ball around the box and you have 0 chance of breaking out. We got multiple chances because we got multiple offsides and winning the ball up the field.

All of the top teams have spent near enough 1 billion on their squads, just chelsea did it all at the same time so everyone thinks it's some big thing. Chelsea bought young players, some will make it, some won't. The club though, we'll I think they could dominate for the next 10 years after 2 years of growth and maturing. Their squad could be worth 2 or 3 billion in 5 years as all players will still have minimum three years left on their contracts. Also I am not even a chelsea fan, not in the slightest. I can see what's coming and I don't like it as much as you but I don't live in denial and pretend to myself chelsea will be mid table for ever... In short, you really don't get it mate

Spurs had an easy run and no injuries and all of a sudden they think they are prime Barcelona ffs.

Then they move on. Hes making the team play a way and up until then it had been very successful, we even outplayed barca weeks into his appointment. It's not like we will have 9 men. Plus anyone who watched the match will know up to 95 minutes we were still very in the game with chances and disallowed goals. No one thinks we will win the league, that's for hyper up pundits who need a story. I don't care where we finish as long as we continue to play like we are and continue to build the team. If that happens then I am positive we will compete for everything in a season or two time.

They almost got a point. They had 3 very good chances to make it 2-2. It was only in extra time when Chelsea finally wrapped up the game. It's hilarious that people are making out that sitting on the edge of their own box for 30 mins with 9 men and a CB pairing of Dier, playing his first minutes of the season and Hojbjerg, a midfielder ffs, would have somehow resulted in a positive outcome. It wouldn't. They would have conceded. I don't care if it's Chelsea, those two CBs aren't coping with wave after wave of attack. The difference though, would have been that Spurs wouldn't have created the chances they did to draw the game.

I generally don't like either of these two, but they are spot on with regards to how Ange Postecoglou has become a media darling.

Agree with Rory. The Spurs manager talks a good game but is pretty hypocritical. Wenger as an example, was criticised and villified for continuing to play attacking football, even though it would cost Arsenal games (heavy defeats, especially against the big boys). So why in 2023, are we backing some geeza after 5 minutes?
