My aunt hand a leg like that. In the 40s and until panty hose became fashionable, she would wash her stockings and stretch them on the frame to dry. In her latter years, she had a pair of them that were stainless steel. She had given up on stockings, and used it to stretch her blue jeans on to dry. When she took them off the frame, the jeans looked as though they had been starched and ironed. She had the crispest creases you have ever seen! That artist had a little bit of everything, didn’t she. I can’t wait to see what you create with all of those wonderful things!

I went through a long long non creative period. And subsequently de cluttered. No tears, it was needed! But have started creating again, and, am so pleased that I found someone who has the enthusiasm and respect for what "old trash" can be! I consider you to be a mentor, thank you for your positivity!

The white toeless baby shoes were for baby’s who’s feet turned in or out. There was a bar between them connecting the two shoes to keep the feet in the correct position while, they slept. Parents also did exercises during the day when they weren’t worn. I did this for my son and it worked beautifully…a google search will show you what the different bars looked like.🙂

I have seen baby shoes like that back when I was young. My mom would tell me how hard times were when she was young and people couldn't afford to buy shoes so as their babies would grow they would just cut the toes out until they could afford to buy a new pair. But they also bought them bigger than their feet to get as much life as they could out of them. This is what I like about watching videos like these. The story's they bring up.

Yes those shoes are orthopedic correction shoes. The holes in bottom are for the bar that screws in between. I hated having to put them on my son.

Yes those are corrective shoes and would have had a metal bar attached. I had to wear them when I was a baby. (I'm 56 now) My parents also cut the toes out of them as my feet grew. I think I wore them for 10 - 11 months and had very strong legs. I also destroyed my baby bed with the bar because I had to wear them 20 hours a day.

The little white baby shoes are like a pair my daughter had. They are baby corrective shoes. When she was born her feet were turning in. She wore the shoes on what looked like they were on the wrong feet, for 23 hours per day., she was about 4 months old at the beginning. She had two different pairs, size 00 and 0. They worked, her feet straighten out. A happy memory, thanks for sharing. (PS daughter just turned 50!)

I hope this woman's family cherished her work and have preserved some of it for others to appreciate. I would have loved to view all her work and workshop. You might be able to develop a tag to include with the items of hers that you are selling, the ones that don't have a signature. A Provenance of the item, i.e., essentially a recorded journey of her artwork - about the artist, its origin, etc. Have you looked up this women to see if any of her work has been bought by collectors?

Yvonne, You got so many beautiful one of a kind "treasures" at that amazing lady's Estate Auction, what a truly gifted artist she was! I am thrilled that you have decided to keep some of her items to add to your own gorgeous home decor! She would have been so happy to know that you got all the items that you were fortunate enough to purchase! You were probably one of the few people there that took the time to really see & appreciate her vision, her skills, her ingenuity, her artistry, her quirky designs & see the beauty that she brought out in each of those masterpieces. It was obvious that she put a lot of love & time into each piece & somehow managed to leave behind a little piece of her heart with each one! My 2 favorite pieces were the white scalloped wooden trim piece & the long rolls of "rusty crusty" narrow metal trim pieces that were tucked into the last suitcase that you filmed! And that gorgeous old red brick School House...the possibilities are endless! But wait...there's more!!! Her workshop...simply amazing! Those buildings are PRICELESS!!! There will never be another auction like that one, it truly was one of a kind!

This was absolutely amazing, I so wish I could have gone and viewed everything. I have a thing for old pieces also. The stocking form leaning against the ladder was used to display hose before panty hose were invented. Of course you need a garter belt to hold them up 😂! Very uncomfortable to wear, let me tell you. I know, I'm 75 😮. Love, love to watch your videos.

The little "steam punk box" originally held attachments for a sewing machine. Some of your round brushes with the turned handles could be Shaker.

What treasures you have! If you can, scan the vintage labels book/box along with the other vintage ephemera and sell digital copies! That way it can be passed along to many more who would love them. 😊
