SO MUCH DATA!!! When Is THE BEST Time To Buy Pokemon Cards?
Ойындар
Have you ever wondered when the best time is to buy a Pokemon Card?
Pokemon Card Collecting has been a fun and popular hobby over the past 28 years. However, knowing the best time to buy Pokemon Cards continues to be something Pokemon Card Collectors study. Trying to find the best time to purchase a card to add to a Pokemon Card Collection is no easy feat. You want to make sure you make this purchase when a card is at its lowest possible price so that way you can get the most out of your Pokemon Card Spending budget.
Luckily, the world of Pokemon Collecting today offers us many more useful tools and analytics that we can study and look at to properly identify trends and predict outcomes. With websites like TCGplayer.com providing us with Market information, sales history, and available supply, we should be able to identify a better understanding on the short-term potential of a singular Pokemon Card.
Is this data enough to predict a Pokemon Card's performance? Let's talk about it.

As always your video with the data is on spot and giving a lot to the listener, you can always see that it was thoroughly prepared and that's what makes those kinds of videos the best out on YT ❤ keep it going Danny, Pham Clan loves you and hopefully more and more people will come to realize that 💯✌🏻
Always love your data break downs Danny, definitely the best source on KZread for it! Love your insight to the market!
Thanks for selflessly educating us daily.❤🎉😊
Hi Danny, love the concept, but I think the only meaningful way to look at data this way is to do a longitudinal approach: Take different snapshots of the same data over the course of a week, a couple of weeks, and a month+, and then you can make much better inferences on how quickly a card’s supply is being replenished and how demand is increasing or decreasing. Then we can make more educated guesses about where the price will trend and what factors might be affecting supply and demand.

Agreed but I think even longer time frames because prices are also impacted by new sets being released and reprints as well.
I loved this video because it really helped me see more of the supply issue. Thanks Danny for the time and effort!
I thank you for creating this. It must have taken a long time. This is definitely helpful for those buying, selling and investing in pokemon!
this is so fascinating-- thank you for posting this!
This was amazing data and well put together. I think you hit the nail on the head with supply and demand. it is a big key component to when to buy.
Thanks for taking your time on the topic
Fascinating study as always and very educational! Thank you !
Great info Danny! Keep up the good work!
Thanks for doing the leg work on analysis like this once again
Love how you put this info out 👌🎉
For me the best time to buy pokemon cards it's when i really need them and have the cash reserved for :)
Always helpful knowledge to have. I've definitely saved some money from watching the data charts you put out, so thanks again.
Love the video as always! 🔥
Awesome way to look at the data and when would be a good time to pull the trigger on a card
Yes it made plenty of cents to me! I appreciate all you do to help spend our money wisely
This entire time I didn't know Danny had kids. Bro seems like he'd be a good dad too

"This entire time" must not be very long because he mentions them often.
Phenomenal Phanny's data is invaluable. Thanks Danny for all you do.
Thanks for the content Danny, usually it’s always cheaper to wait a year to two years for singles. Obviously there are exceptions but the amount you save by doing this outweighs the downside of those. God bless you Danny and the family!!!
So when should I buy?

Buy when low, sell either never or when card value is high.
Thanks for all your work!
Interesting yes 🤔 Time will tell appreciate ur explanation for ur Reasoning 😊Makes sense
Thanks for all the information! It must have been a lot of time. I hope that when a set is 6 months old it is a good time to buy singles at a reasonable price.
Great info as always
This video was great. Always wondered if older GX and EX cards were less expensive when they came out. Do you know what the cosmic eclipse rosa cost when it came out???
Danny can you do a follow up on this video on another month or two, just would be interesting to see what prices did vs what we thought they would do, thanks!
Great content!
thanks for the information
One thing I wish TCG player had was items for sale. Listing number only factors the number of seller. If a seller has more than 1 for sale, it doesn’t change the listing count.
I rarely comment, but I do like most of your vids. Lemme change that 😌
Will be interesting to follow these cards over some time and see how consistent the indicators are. I'm personally curious about what rotation will do for some of those cards. The Fusion Mew, gold celebrations mew, etc.
Amazing video!
Great Data, Danny
Buy when the reprint hits for more recent sets. When Lost Origins was reprinted Tina dropped to 228.72. As you said also waiting for all the products to come out and allow it to saturate the market. Rotation may be another good chance to buy low when they get pulled from play.
Hey Danny, cool numbers and metrics. I'm wondering if these numbers might make more sense if you look at the trends week to week over a month or two. Also, I'm wondering if you use the formula - + , which in simple terms would be the stock added over the week. If the trend in stock added over the weeks is going up or staying about the same, price would assume to be still going down. If trend in stock added over the weeks start to go down, then price would assume to be hitting the bottom. Im just not sure how you could look at any of these numbers without also taking into consideration how new a set is, as that alone, along with reprint windows, seem to be the simplest indicator if prices have any room left to fall.
Hey Danny! I’m curious to hear your thoughts on the X&Y era Mega Pokémon cards and how you think the new legends game will impact the prices on them. Also, do you think there will be new mega evolution cards again if/when they make a new set based around Legends ZA?
Appreciate you ❤😊
Loving the Pikachu from the DALL-E set 😜
I wonder if TCG player could sell a $3 a month subscription to database style data on cards. A Bloomberg terminal for Pokemon? Like, I'm not sure damaged cards should count toward the population for sale. And a seller listing 50 items shouldn't count as 1 listed. You are doing a great job with the limitations of the data. Thanks.
The best time to buy Pokemon cards I my area is when Gamestop sells out. I was making a killing when for some reason they didn't have them in stock but they were online. Lots of people still don't like shopping online.
I watch you like my dad watches the money channel 😂
Another thing is that a new set is coming and people are going to start selling their doubles or cards to be able to buy the new set...for the charizard for example
For your charts from tcg are you using images you copy and paste in google sheets or do you use the API to draw the charts?
I constantly look at several websites selling products. It can prove to be quite the hassle-I won’t lie.
I just sold a 151 charizard on eBay for 96. Now I’m using that plus a bit more to get the three premium PAF starter shiny sets. I’m hoping a Mew Ex is pulled in any of those packs. 🤞🏼 I agree that the shiny paf zard is going to keep going down because PAF is overly printed in my opinion.
It’s very difficult to determine the best time to purchase cards at the lowest price. Maybe check options to obtain cards by trading for the cards you want.
I usually wait a year to see where prices are
This is interesting data, but I'm so confused as to why there's so much focus on current sets. The answer posed in the video title is also never answered. Based on my own research the answer to "when is the best time to buy Pokemon cards?" is between *20 to 24 months after release* . Hence, the reason why I'm so confused that we're looking at such hyper-modern cards instead of something from the Sword & Shield era. All of the 151 cards, and S&V sets will continue to fall in price and any uptick we see in the short-term is irrelevant to the overall trend. Anything in this S&V block will not be in short supply for more than 2 years, particularly because it has been printed much more than anything we had in the Sword & Shield block.
I think the best time to buy singles is 2-3 years after release for the majority of the cards some cards this is not the case. For sealed i would wait 1 year when its everywhere
Balancing my hobby with personal life expense its not easy lol

Phanny the original Rey you showed was a rainbow. I didn’t see any data on 30$ rainbows now ??
Let's go 🎉🎉
I have found the answer to be about a year after release.
So in terms of Base Set booster boxes Danny referenced at the start of the video, if you can get one for as low as $14,000, how/why can Pokerev charge $6,500 a PACK for his box opening coming up this weekend? I get the idea of: the price is the price someone will pay, but something is getting lost in translation here, at least to me. Sorry if this is seems off topic in terms of singles data, but since Danny's videos focus primarily on pricing, it would be interesting to hear some feedback.

The world needs more Phannys!
Best time to buy is sooner than later and keep them
so long story short: most sets are decreasing except Paldea evolved?
Early squad
Danny needs to start trading stocks 😂
The best time to buy Pokemon cards is always now... RIGHT NOWWWWWW
First 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Are you an accountant you seems 2 really like numbers/spreadsheets? 😂
Are you a master in Excel? you'd be a good candidate for jobs as they always ask if you're proficient in excel lol.

That's a fake card I believe
So what was the conclusion? Lol
the best time is when the hobby is not as hot (ex pandemic 2020 not the best time as it was hot) if u want to buy hitters just wait a few weeks after release prices majority of the time go down if you are in the hobby to make money mostly anything will go up jus don't expect to be balling within a day or two and poke investors are for the most part looked down on these days cause you care more about the value than the collection piece jus a food for thought
Has anything you rambled on about become true
There is supply and demand, and then there is capacity. Don’t you think prices will be driven up as millennials and gen z make more money and inherit wealth?
Has paying money for cards ever been enjoyable? Has buying with hopes the price will go up ever been fun? Getting a great deal is fun , and finishing a set is fun , but the entire financial aspect is far from fun and i doubt it will ever be fun , unless you make a ton of money doing it
Why is the black guy wearing the watermelon shirt?
