Okay, I understand that no humanity Stefan is a bad thing, but.. He's just so messy and I love it, like this version, of Stefan, is wayyy more entertaining than his regular self. Also, get ready for the clownery that will start to happen with Jeremey, cause if Matt is strong enough, to say goodbye to his own sister, then Jeremy's ass, who already has a baddie like Bonnie as a girlfriend who literally saved his life, should easily do the same for his very brief ex-girlfriend.

I was always amazed at how well Tyler handled all this nonsense after everything. His heightened aggressiveness as a werewolf and THEN usually emotional instability and even more extreme aggressiveness comes with becoming a vampire. On top of that, the sure bond?! But the characters give him virtually no leeway and neither does the narrative. 🤦🏻‍♀️

19:17 the way rob says he would fall for Damon's charm sent me. It was so obvious how jealous elena was when damon was flirting with Rebekah at the bonfire. I love the moment in the hallway when Elena said, “ I was faking most of it.” and Damon responded with, “so was I.” They look at each other for so long, I could have sworn they were about to kiss right there. I hated when Alaric interrupted their sweet moment.

18:22 now that’s brain damage. It’s a miracle that Matt didn’t get a concussion after that

Just to clarify a potential confusion: (I don't think this is a spoiler but someone let me know) Jeremy can see the ghosts of Supernatural creatures that he has a strong emotional connection to because, unlike Elena, he died of natural causes (gunshot wound), and was revived via unnatural circumstances via Bonnie's magic. Mat can see Vicki because he had a near-death experience from drowning himself (which counts as a natural cause), they had a strong enough connection to allow it, and because Vicki was also getting help from a witch spirit.

15:01-15:12 I love the way zuff, Bryce, and rob react to them omg. The intimate moment between damon and elena in the gym had so much tension. The way Damon smoothly pulled Elena close to his body and said,” that's the sternum. that’s a way to a vampire’s heart. I'll do whatever you need me to do Elena." She stared at Damon's lips for so long, you can tell Elena wanted to kiss him so badly at that moment. Her feelings for damon are slowly starting to get stronger with each episode.

Thank you Rob and Bryce , for your observation that the brothers go back and forth. Glad you pointed that out.....people don't realize that Stefan and Damon are mirror images...sort of...of each other, in many ways. What Stefan does now, especially going forward , is essentially how Damon behaved over the course of the first 2 seasons. Lots of parallels to be seen. They are so alike in so many ways than we were led to believe in the beginning of the series. The layers are slowly being peeled off. That is clever writing.

The casting for TVD was so right on... I think that's the reason it's hard for me to find a replacement series where I care as much about the characters as TVD. Jeremy and Matt only see people they want to see. Anna told Jeremy that back an episode or two. I believe it’s only supernatural people. That I don’t remember though, haven’t seen this show in awhile lol.

You know , it could well be argued , that Stefan is in this mess , because of who he is , at his core ..... a ripper. If it hadn't been for his ripper nature and his insatiable blood lust Klaus would never have been interested in him. If only Stefan had learnt to control his blood addiction over the decades , Klaus would never have used him as a bargaining chip for the cure. Its Stefan's past as a ripper, especially while in Chicago with Klaus, that's caught up with him. Sad, but that's the way it is.

But then, he also was in this mess because of Katherine, who turned him into a vampire, which turned him into a “ripper.” If he were able to “learn to control” his bloodlust over 100+ years, I think he would have lol. Clearly it’s something he wants to control. But then you also say it’s “who he is at his core,” suggesting it’s not something he could learn. It just comes across as a funny kind of supernatural victim blaming. Klaus literally forced him to turn his humanity off, so… it’s 100% on him. You can blame Stefan for things he did in the 1920s, but not for Klaus’s actions, not to mention feelings.

Already forgotten the delena gym scene by the time Stefan catches Elena by the bleachers. Their chemistry is insane uhhh can't not love em

well, not exactly... Fire (which is very much involved in an explosion) kills vampires; also, while they can heal from a lot of wounds, that doesn't mean that no injury is fatal... If he gets blown to peaces that's it for him, there is no healing that, specially if he gets decapitated by said explosion... So yeah, explosions are quite dangerous even for vampires (unless you are an original)

Bryce- that's the thing about S3 of TVD- everything is at a 12 all the time. They burned through plot like no one's business in this season. It meant some lost opportunities in canon (that fandom sadly hasn't done more with), but it's also a heck of a moving train to be on. I forgot that Damon was the one who first realized Tyler was sired. Tyler really is at the crossroads of a few different things with his transition. He has the football persona again for the first time since early season 1 (rest in suffering, Coach Tanner) putting him back on top of the social ladder, some time has passed since his dad's and uncle's passings, he's newly sired to Klaus, the hybrid status means he never has to turn into a wolf and endure the full moon suffering again, and then the vampire status naturally leads to flaws being heightened. All of it combines for the worst showing for him since early season 2 when he started to become more sympathetic. But thank you all for pointing out that Caroline acting like she knows everything when she found out about siring 20 minutes ago in the briefest of explanations is so annoying (it's a writing flaw, not specific to Caroline, to be fair). EDIT: Also, Tyler deserved better than attributing everything good or likable about himself to Caroline. She has brought out the best in him for about half a season by this point (and in an episode with Vicki it's easy to remember just how bad he once was) but she's not all there is to him. It makes me sad for where the character goes from here. As for Jeremy, he didn't realize that a strong witch was behind Vicki until he talked to Anna to know that he should bring it to Bonnie, but her anger is justifiable. But Anna's not knocking Jeremy out or trying to kill loved ones, and his feelings about Anna are very much tied up in things that they're facing right now that makes it hard for Jeremy to not think about her, and Jeremy is the only person she had, so I don't entirely blame him for not finding it simple to banish her from his mind. It's an ugly situation where I just feel bad for all of them. Damon and Elena's sternum "way to a vampire's heart" scene really is one of the top 10 sensuous scenes in the entire show (no, I don't have a list, I just know it belongs there), and I can't help suspecting Julie Plec or someone pulled inspiration from the Vampire Academy novels on it. Also, Ric helping train Elena with tough love while still telling her she was strong for getting out of bed that morning- that was quality stuff for their dynamic. Ric's hair is indeed fantastic this episode, Rob (and Damon also looks particularly good in this one). As to Bryce pulling for the vampires to see Ric as a threat... why man, why? Do not want, even though you're right that they should, especially after dealing with Hunter Mikael, but it's worth noting the Originals kind of think the only ones who can hurt them are themselves, largely because historically that has been true. That's also why Rebekah wasn't worried about Damon having wood near her heart- like Elijah, only the daggers with ash can truly hurt her (his attempts to flirt with her are amusing, but even more so is his confusion when she first showed up at the Salvatores' door). Also, Elena does not get enough appreciation for putting together the plan (including knowing that Stefan would catch her, whether for Klaus' reasons or his own deeper-seated ones) and executing it so well, and I feel for her acutely in this episode. I know a lot of people would rank "The Reckoning" higher, but I prefer this one (albeit, I have some Delena bias).

For some reasons i thought Kat feed Mikael with Jer.. my memories are so bad. I was thinking something about Tyler too but it's not quite right also 😅. I Forgot about the returning of mr Kinney but I am so glad to see him again. His character deserved better and more screen time

Yea, Buffy, the vampire slayer might be older, but it's a better show. The only thing is there's less vampire action than in tvd because it's actually got a lot of different supernatural phenomena in it. It's kind of like the show Supernatural, but still not, lol.

If Elena could forgive Damon for sexually abusing her friend and killing her brother, Matt can forgive Tyler.

I definitely recommend watching Xena and Buffy! Even more so, though I recommend True Blood, it has the best representation of vampires I've ever seen, and every episode is packed with guaranteed fun!
