Yeah, the fact that heihachi has the rule “never duck against this guy” built into his game plan, it makes his “bad” lows so much stronger, simply because the chances of them connecting are much greater due to his special rule. His character design is genius. And also TMM, it takes a big man to rectify a mistake they made. Well done brother 🤘🖤

There's even two moves TMM didn't mention that I think don't get enough credit. Up forward 3 4 and sidestep 2 1. Uf3 4's risk vs reward is great for its relative safeness while giving a combo and crushing properties. SS 2 1 can catch anybody by surprise and be an effective punish off the sidestep...which also leads to a combo. Love those moves.

I've been screaming about this for some time on this channel. This is what I like about TMM, he is not afraid to admit when he is wrong. Kazuya is easily harder to play than heihachi in the latest update, and this video sums it up pretty well. Hell, my flatmate plays heihachi on pad and is near tekken god prime, he doesn't barely even use electrics. I see the argument that people want electric nerfed again like in T6. (where the mishimas where also bad) But at this point with kazuya he basically would be a nutured character. His jab sucks, almost everything is unsafe, no real get off me panic moves, pathetic range, and his key moves get blown up by fast attacks and sidestepping. One blocked hellsweep you die. Axe kick is pretty fuzzy guardable too. Maybe there's an argument for toning down the electric for other mishimas, but that's almost all kazuya has in his favour. There also has to be some sort of reward for "difficult" execution other wise every move might as well be direction + button. So it needs to be strong. There is a reason why Namco targeted Kazuya for buffs in the later seasons, hence the homing hell sweep fiasco. Unfortunately they just appear to have no idea how to actually do it... Lets hope they watch this video because I think it's a decent breakdown.

@otdreamer193 Kuni was my exclusive teammate with Kazuya in Tag 2. She offered a lot more poking options, without tons of brainless spam movesand panic moves. She even had a sort of wavedash mixup with SET mixups, with high execution you could cancel into low sweeps. Plus she had no netsu penalty. But anyways, with Kazuya it's like you have to startoff against your opponent with hellsweep spam to force them to respect it for the rest of the games. Otherwise, Kazuya has such slow moves with shit reach that there's nothing scary about him.

@@dejuanharris5012 You're doing something wrong if you're letting her 50/50 on block. Most of her 50/50's are locked behind stances. The most she can do from standing is a great poking game due to her movement. You can just flash punch/mid poke her out of stance transition on block. Just watch out for her SET transition to FC. Mainly back dash away from her and crouch guard when she's in FC, her launcher doesn't reach as far as her FC sweep. Hell sweep is a better 50/50 in terms of accessibility from standing.

Starting to watch more of your videos; I would watch the occasional vid here and there but I want to take my Heihachi / understanding of mishimas to the next level so... yah, i'm ready to listen to some more of your insight, and how much I agree or disagree with it haha. But I Respect your passion for the game and your favorite characters. I think Heihachi isn't as low risk and high reward as you put it, the claim that he can rely well on his mids and not his lows is valid but easier said than done. I think he's pretty slow as a character, and a lot of my attempts to start pressure get jabbed or evaded out frequently. Just one of a couple opinions I've had so far. I'm open to advice or disagreements.

@themainmanswe hope you read this, in my opinion, Kazuya don't have much attacks because it's a defensive character, if you look closer every kazuya move its a punish, including PEWGF, its a reaction character, for using it properly you have to defend knowing the oponent attacks, its quite difficult knowing every character moves are above 100. this will sound weird, but kazuya its more effective and lethal if you dont use combos, you can get always better position for the entire round if you start defending.

This is why he is the hardest character to play in the game. In a game where block punish is not as important as it should be. I dont know about the not using combos thing though if you are doing the right combos you can easily reset into that defensive position.

@@via_negativa6183 That's what i mean with the combos, not using the usual combos, there's a lot of mixes and combinations i never saw nobody uses, and gives tremendous advantages, bassically not allowing the oponent fully recover from your punish and force him to do certain moves and punish him again.

One thing no one talks about is how strong Jins EWHF actually is. He doesn't push back at all, and gets +5 on block - all other Mishima push back and can't really use the frames. Jin on the other hand can pressure with df+1, d+4, uf+2, f+1+2, Magic 4, Hellsweep, etc all after his electric gets blocked with no pushback, it's completely busted and by far the best electric. Just worth mentioning I think~

The Kazuya pushback has follow ups it's what makes him unique. All mishimas have a follow up Jin is more neutral based it's by character design so this isn't new been saying this for yrs. Kazuya is more counter hit defensive than offensive Heihachi is more offensive and aggressive and Jin/DJin is neutral aka balanced. This is nothing new mainman just didn't think it through ans constantly kept changing opinions which I commend him for it but my God lmao it's by design. Nothing new. I can explain Kazuyas follow ups he has a few that are strong no one uses it.

You've discovered the issue I had with Devil Jin in general that his moves have sucky synergy. He has moves that basically have one opportunity to hit and if they don't you rarely have anything that fits as a consistent follow-up. f,f+2 is an alright mid with a deep hitbox but if it's blocked you're out of options; you have to pull back and wait for their response. With Jin I can press 1+2 if I think they're going to react by running in after a f,f+2 and it'll punish a rushdown attempt but Devil Jin has no such move to go into after a situation like that. Add to that poor Tailspin options for combos (they're either low-damage or difficult to land for maximum damage), which gives him the worst staple combos of the Mishimas, and some mediocre poking (like d+3, which isn't necessarily bad to use as a standalone attack but grants nothing strategic at all because you're negative even when you land it). He's definitely not terrible but of the three Mishimas he's the most awkwardly designed most of the time (which makes some lore sense -- he can use the fighting style but his more chaotic drive means that it's not controlled or disciplined, relying more on instinctual response than calculated action). That said if you want a mid that's less reactable you could throw u/f+3 out there. It's actually theoretically MORE reactable because it's got a slower start but personally I like that slower start because it screws with people who expect something faster to come out when you're going for a 50/50. On block and normal hit it leaves your opponent quite minus and on CH it gives you the same launch as CD 3 (and the laggy startup can help set this up). The only problem I have is the input tends to make Devil Jin hop coming out of a crouch dash rather than go into the move so you need to find the right timing where the CD input has been cleared but you've still got that forward momentum to really take advantage of the attack's pressure potential.

We Heihachi mains recon he has BS moves like the demon uppercut, but he is very technical to play and only players who are willing to endure getting beat up over and over again in ranked two thirds of the time in order to understand how he works are ok with playing Heihachi. Also lets not forget that he is a Mishima so fundamentally based character, and while Heihachi favours a bully style of gameplay he struggles against characters that have good movement or evasive stances and attacks. Therefore good Heihachi must pick and choose their moments to be the juggernaut of pressure and the moments to be more relaxed to frustrate the opponent for them to commit to an unsafe move for him to punish, that requires good fundamentals and defence which takes Time. Overall Heihachi mains have Always been here, its just that the buffs over the seasons just added up while people were figuring ways to make the character strong with mixups and setups. To me the resurgence of Heihachi and mishima players in Europe and the insane Mishima scene in Pakistan, south America, and Asia showed that people are still wanting to play a version of Tekken that ressembles more legacy Tekken than modern Tekken. An easy concept on paper, but very specialised and hard to master with defined flaws and weak against lots of other characters that are more pushed as being the more modern faces of Tekken. To me its beautiful. Also devil jin has never been a problem to me being OP he always has been the Tekken version of Akuma or bison since T5, the cool villain that is really and does stuff nobody else does, and he is the dark side of the main character so he should be strong but i understand that uf4 was cheap as hell and needed nerfs
