To fully destroy one's PC with realistic minecraft mods, make sure the render distance is better than a person's vision that needs glasses, but don't have em' on

At 5:47, you briefly wonder about what darkness looks like / seeing colors in the dark. The cones in a person's eyes lose the ability to detect light when it is dark, and they control how we register color. Rods, on the other hand, can still detect all available light even when it is dark, but they do not have the ability to sense color. Thus, it is actually impossible to see color when it is very dark.

5:56 colors are much less visible when it's dark out. The eye uses cone cells, which work well in bright conditions and rod cells, which work well in dark conditions. Cone cells can see color while rod cells can't. When it's dark, rod cells do most of the work, but cone cells still contribute a bit, which is why your vision isn't completely black and white at night, but is pretty close

you can't see colors in the dark because you use your peripheral vision (which is more sensitive to light, but can't detect color)
