Honestly, I think it depends on your 1st language. A lot of Western European countries have similar languages, thus making it easier to learn. This also can apply to Asian countries. 1 (of 3) Japanese writing system is basically stolen from China. (For those people who want to know what the other two writing languages are, they are phonetic, called Hiragana and Katakana.

This wasn’t expected but it is very welcomed to see him speedrun languages

Ive been practicing japanese on duolingo for a week or so now and its taught me more than any other class ive ever taken, all memes aside its an amazing way to learn a new language

Careful, when you make a new Duolingo account the Owl expects you to do the lessons every day. I have experienced first hand what the Owl does to your family when you don't keep up with your language learning.

I was one of the lucky ones to get an agreement, and Duo will not do anything with my family if I miss a lesson. Most people don’t have that happen, so thank goodness I am lucky. I still try to keep my streak, though.
