Absolute monster of an amplifier. This is my favorite Mesa Boogie too. Great tones and great riffs my dude.

I love the laser-like presence of the recto. I feel this type of sound has become fairly underappreciated in the last years, shame.

I was at that Indonesia show! The crowd was small due to poorly advertise concert (and it was massive rain happening outside) But you guys still play full energy as if it was a sold out show. I remember (either you or Danny) running around in the middel of the crowd. Fun fact: my friend own that Mesa Roadking. I played that amp every time I rehearse at his studio. The sound was nut-shakingly good!

nice of you to mention Petrucci and his chocolate cake tone, since he also used this amp (mark 1 to be exact). his train of thought tone is one of my favorites. it's so thick and saturated, but somehow manages to be very tight and exact, AND also super dynamic.

Impressive showcase of this great amp! I own a RK1 model and love it.

This is a top tier amp for all kinds of tones! The downside is the head weighs a million pounds. None the less, I suspect these will be hard to find in the future. Really the most versatile of the rectifier amps.

Mine too. I was super shocked when I got it, but the RK2 is by far the best sounding Recto ever made.

I also have this Roadking 2 in my arsenal. Good video. I'm mostly playing through plugins these days. I think I have to give it another run, it's been years.

Same here! I have a RK1 and use my Kemper Profiler these days because the RK1 is so damn heavy lol I'll have to lug it out one day and revisit it!

Ill finally have one this year!... after I pay off and attend a guitar building course. The versatility of this amp is astounding. And I know how I'll have all the channels tuned, with the different options. And 8:16 I thought you were going to play Ram Ranch😅😂.

Mendel, you tricked my brain bad with that initial cleanish chord, then the finger brought the magic gain. It is a magic amplifier!!!!

That sounds so chunky but rich at the same time, sounds incredible..!

I would like to see someone compare this with the jp2 and original mark 2 c+. I don’t expect one to sound better than the other but I’d expect three completely different sounding amps hopefully showing their own unique sound.

Only thing difference are channels 1&2. Channels 1&2 in the RK2 are the mesa lonestar. Channels 3&4 are the same. Clean Channels in the RK2 are way better. Other than that RK 1 is still a super monster!

IR link? Also, does that Driftwood loadbox have a volume dial for the output level? I was looking at it but it seemed to have limited switches and dials.

@@Mendelian ln Your case that totally makes sense since you have both already. Best sound for studio and the other for convenience. I'm wondering if any pedal IR loader is going to stand up to using the Apollo. I can't exactly lug my Apollo and computer everywhere. The Red Seven makes sense, but not getting 2 units in my case.
