Great band, great album. My favorite is The Great Cold Distance though, followed up by this one. The new(est) album was very enjoyable though.

A very fair assessment. When I went back and listened to The Great Cold Distance I fell in love with many of the songs. And the newest album was great too!

The great cold distance is my favorite album as well
Their newer drummer is very good with their newer stuff. But Daniel on the drums on the older stuff like this was just killer he is one of my favorite drummers all-time. Been a huge fan of this band from their first album on. My all-time fave band is Rush but Katatonia has held down that 2nd spot just about as long. Some others that I listen to from scandinavia are Swallow the Sun, In Mourning and Draconian. Always happy to meet another Kat fan! ✌👍

That's so cool! Im a catholic and Katatonia is my favorite band ever, I'm obsessed. So nice to see other christians enjoying the band. I would love to see you reacting to "Follower" from The Great Cold Distance. I think it has an interesting lyric. Thanks in advance!

Thanks for checking out my review! Oh man...I just read the lyrics to Follower and checked out another couple songs. I'm seeing a bunch of recurring themes that seem to point to very specific family events in Jonas's life, and I'm...blown away. If he's hinting at the things it seems he is, then wow his lyrics are darker than I thought. I really liked the music on TGCD too, so the song is definitely in my list now.
There were some blasphemous songs in early days of the band, when they were teens. They're still making that kind of crap as Bloodbath.

You're totally right about Bloodbath. I just filmed an Opeth review too and didn't mention that band there either. But Katatonia's lyrics always struck me as a bit more innocent than Opeth's anyway
