This video is a little bit of a mish-mash of snowy footage I took from a few weeks ago with a vlog thrown in between - hope you don't mind the randomness and enjoy the video! Much love to you all and hope you're doing ok.

Look after yourself Athena. I lost my brother suddenly 4 years ago. The pain is still there when his birthday arrives. Double that with another lock down and your swinging emotions are perfectly understandable. Can l say that nature is a great healer and your filming in this video is superb:)

Hi Athena Two years ago I was taken to ICU I was in a coma for 4 weeks with flu and pneumonia At the same time my brother passed away . I tell you this not to expect sympathy but to illustrate the need to embrace every day with optimism and fortune . Now I know that opening your eyes to the beauty we are surrounded by is a bonus . The loss of your brother is immense but he is with you sunshine

I love how open and honest you are. I suffer from mental health issues, your videos help lift my spirits. We are kind of kindred spirits, I love the outdoors and have a love of cooking I'm a chef who has a horticultural qualifications as well. I lost my dad when I was 25, I'm now 54 , I truly believe that a loved one never passes as well keep them alive and in our hearts and memories. I have a strange recipe that I created many years ago in college. If you feel adventurous and would like to give it a try let me know and I'll send you the recipe. It's a dessert.

This is such a lovely video to do especially for people who are really alone, isolated and unable to take exercise at this time. It must feel as if they could be on the walk with you. I was moved to tears on hearing about your dear brother as it’s such a very young age to lose your life. I’m so very sorry. But you spoke with such honesty and unforced grief yet I can only imagine how heartbreaking it must be. But I do understand that walking your dog and being close to nature is a tremendous healer.

Hi Athena, I was so sorry to hear of your brother and can understand how you feel. I hope you are feeling more yourself this week, but please don't beat yourself up for being so up and down. I, too, lost my younger brother at this time of year 2 years ago and exactly a year after him I lost my mum. Covid and lockdown have been really hard this year so far and I think you pinpointed for me why I was struggling so much and feeling up one day and down the next. I haven't been able to visit their graves or lay any flowers, or see my sisters who all live in Scotland - family are so important! Here is to spring and seeing the sun and getting to meet up with family and friends.

Dear Athena, All your episodes on your KZread channel are exceptional - but this one is just a little bit more because you’ve captured the beauty of the fields … magnificently. I almost stopped the video to give you a thumbs up way before the episode ended and to add a comment - which I sometimes do. Then to hear you tell us about the early death of your brother and father and that Oslo was your brother’s pet I suddenly felt a loss for words. I’m so sorry for your pain. God bless you, Harvey and Oslo always. Me agape, Aspasia

The cinematography in the first part in the snow is insane!! those drone shots 😍😍😍 Sending love for what would've been a very tough anniversary. your work is beautiful and cherished by so many! Can relate to the emotional roller coaster. Never know how I'll wake up and no matter how many things I do to try and improve my mood on those down days I just have to wait it out and eventually I return to my normal self. The uncertainty and inability to make plans is really getting to me and I'm many others. Anyways thank you for another video- always look forward to them!

I've discovered your videos in lockdown and they've been so helpful in helping me get the most out of my local walks. I can't wait to get up to the peaks when we can now! I know you mentioned a while back that you were worried about talking about the gear you're wearing because you don't want to give the impression that you need expensive stuff to enjoy walking but honestly seeing what you wear in certain conditions and listening to your experiences has been so helpful for me to work out what kit is likely to work for me. Especially with the UK weather being so changeable! I've been getting so cold on my walks and only lasting about 45mins before wanting to go home but after finding your videos I've bought a few pieces of gear second hand and tried it all out on a 10k walk yesterday and was toasty warm for the whole thing, I could have walked all day! I'm so thrilled and I can't wait to get out again.

Lockdown in the UK definitely feels tougher this time around. I found your channel during the first lockdown and it really helped me to get through then and continues to do so now. The Peak District is my favourite place in this country and it is great seeing glimpses of the hills I love so much even if I cannot explore them myself at this time. I have to keep reminding myself that the hills will still be there for us to enjoy once we are allowed to again. I want to thank you for everything you are doing and the snippets of your life that you share to inspire people to feel a little calmer ❤️ ps. Your bakes always look super delicious!!

I'm sorry for your loss. I agree with you strongly how a morning walk out in nature really helps , I don't know how this lockdown might have been for me without the dog walk in the crisp 6am air watching nature unfold from another night . I give thanks that the much missed Peak District spots I know so well will be back in my life when it can be and I'm lucky enough to have a beautiful park close to home where the dogs can run and I can keep by thoughts in the moment. I also feel that the clarity of the morning walk can , as its free of the noise of the day and its activity be when I feel loss more keenly and can understand why thru hikers say that time spent on the trail can 'bring up ' unresolved ' emotions . Your videos both comfort , entertain and inspire . Please keep them up . Peace to you , Harvey and Oslo .

Oh, I loved this Athena! The lovely frozen landscape, the little chat, and the gorgeous looking gingerbread. I'm so sorry you've had a rough day or two remembering the loss of your brother - now I can see why the bond between you and Oslo is so special. Take care, lovely one, and let us know soon how the accommodation search is going. X
