Snowy 2.0 an ‘absolute disaster’: Chris Kenny

Snowy hydro an absolute disaster, says Sky News host Chris Kenny.
Mr Kenny's comments come as Snowy 2.0 won't be finished till 2029 and how the cost continues to blow out.
“What an absolute disaster, your money, your energy grid and it's an absolute disaster,” he said.

Isn't it obvious we are already paying for it whilst our word smiths try and distract with $350million referendums. $100mill spent on geo surveying and the good ol "she'll be right mate with a $150million dollar machine. Drillers earn quite a bit in the scheme of wages and with these two physical prices I've stated still doesn't come close to what our politicians spent on the voice. We need real Aussies running the country.

This is my repeated story: I came from South Africa and one onf the reasons why I came to Australia in 2008 was the constant black-outs in that country which has now reached "Stage 6-8". That is not a way to live and can cause depression. Crime increased, shops closed, cables are stollen, corruption sets in, urban decay is now very obvious, to name some aspects.Basking in the electricity for the last 15 years here in Australia is a privilege to me. Don't let Australia follow the example of South Africa. It's not good.

Unfortunately, no new information here, everything is already well known, so, why?? are we doing this? Interestingly, right now, in USA the US Senate is conducting reviews into the US domestic energy scenarios. While this is not an identical landscape, the economics and the technologies used are directly comparable. Some interesting revelations have been uncovered through questioning. On costs so far, there is is defined cost for the amount spent so far on green energy. On benefits so far, there are no defined benefits so far, just a net cost. Net zero is said to be achievable by 2050, cost for achieving it, is not known, it can be any unspecified amount. Frightening. On benefits for achieving net zero, no specific benefits are known or stated, even more frightening. Potentially $50 trillion spent by 2050, for no specific results or milestones along the way.? No wonder the green party are so enthusiastic to push the agenda, free cash money for everyone, forever. More interesting, a major wind farm, has been side lined, and looks scheduled to be replaced with modular nuclear plants (x3). Reasoning, 146000 acres for the wind farm, compared to 36 acres for modular nuclear. Energy output is the same, except the nuclear runs 24/7. More interesting, the modular nuclear solution, will cost a lot less than the monster wind farm, and will appear and become operatopnal more quickly. Flies in the face of what we are being told here, and we are never given any numbers for costings. The bottom line is summarized rather elegantly, . . . what we need, is "evidence based policy, not, policy based evidence". Clever summary.

There is no such thing as renewable energy. As we close the last few Australian coal fired power stations the Chinese have built hundreds. They’re needed to build all the solar panels and wind turbines we’re installing. They have a shelf life of twenty to thirty years. Then they will have to be dumped. How will we then meet our energy needs? There is no such thing as clean energy. Do the sums on all the waste created in mining, processing and smelting them, assembling and transporting them and then dumping them. We’re sleepwalking into a National Disaster. Once we’ve closed our coal and gas industries and our wind solar collapses we will be trapped in an energy dead fall spiral. Brought to you by the ALP/Teal/Green/Coalition.

How badly is this government screwing up, both labour and liberal. They are completing screwing up the energy sectors. and they are screwing up the housing sector. Homelessness is increasing because there is not enough houses for families to live in, yet they keep pumping immigration and access to electricity is decreasing, every year during winter deaths increase with the elderly because they can't afford to heat their homes. What the hell, every decade it has gotten worse not better.

Check out Perovskite, new solar cell that is 260% greater than exists, which equates to 3,000 watts per home cell. Four or five cells will run a house in the day time. Sad for those invested in silicon cells. May take a year or so before available to consumers. Perovskite last longer than silicon and much, much cheaper, with plenty of its manufacturing minerals readily available. Zero to low toxicity.

So what is the problem, the lights have not gone out, and there is an over abundance of coal power, solar is going along at gangbuster rates, Actually the amount of coal power is overabundant as is. And that is costing prices to stay high. Because power is being bumped and not going to the grid. Snowy 2 will come online when expected and when the situation arises. So be patient and not panic. There is no foresight in something that has not happened other than by weather events or accidental events so quit grizzling. We do not need accusations that can not be substantiated. You with this sort of nonsense leads to mental instability of younger persons that do not understand your propaganda.
