Auto winch works much better when you're in cabin view instead of 3rd person. You can suggest the winchpoint much better by just looking at where you want to winch. If you use auto winch this way you can also winch much faster without the need to stop to manually winch, thus keeping a lot of momentum and energy which would have been lost with a manual winch action.

Thanks for some good tips. On a side note in most videos you always choose the off-road gearbox or snowrunner gearbox and I feel like when you go on long expeditions where you plan to explore and do a maximum of simple tasks before going home or to a fuel station or even cross a fuel trailer or trailer shop, you should minimize fuel consumption with a standard gearbox which saves a lot of fuel. The normal low gear is enough in most situations imo.

Another tip that I feel like should be worth mentioning is when shifting between Forward and Reverse gears. If you're quick-enough, it's faster to manually shift from Reverse to Low>Auto>High and from Low/Auto/High to Reverse than it is to allow the Auto gear to shift between Forward and Reverse.

Cargo management one: if you get a truck that can have flatbed, crane, and still use a trailer (fleetstar and a few others i believe), you can use the crane +flatbed for 3/4 slots of cargo, and the ramped flatbed for another 4 slots of cargo. but you must keep in mind as wel @SD1ONE that crane and cargo affect fuel consumption and ptw too

Keep in mind that the transmission is a manual transmission, which means there's a clutch simulated, thus the reason down shifting isn't really a thing (as you would lose pretty much all your momentum when you engage the clutch to down shift a single gear so when you downshift you may as well go all the way to first). Automatic transmissions function differently and are the better suited to smooth downshifting on an uphill, and "forced" shifting is another point of ignoring the clutch aspect of the game since in the time that you're tapping that shift button the person in the truck would have to engage the clutch, pull out of the gear he was in, disengage then reengage the clutch, then shift into the new gear and disengage the clutch... that's a lot of things he has to do in the time you hold down the shift button to achieve this action. In other words, forced shifting is an exploit, it's fine if you want to use it, but it's important for people to understand what exactly they're doing.

I don't know whether someone wrote or not, but let it be: 1) Speed can be picked up faster than manually shifting gears. After the truck has started, turn on an overdrive, and then back to automatic. The car will already be in the penultimate gear and will have the required speed to engage the last gear. 2) For descending a mountain or any other steep climb, engage a downshift. This will prevent the car from rolling off the mountain too quickly, even at idle speed, and you can comfortably drive the truck. 3) To avoid skidding at high speeds (especially when driving with a fully loaded load), do not apply the brake before turning. Release the accelerator pedal and the truck will slow down. This will allow you to drive around the bend at a comfortable speed and then accelerate quickly. It takes practice to figure out when to release the gas pedal. Or as in the previous tip, downshift before making a turn. You are guaranteed to change the speed. It's better than full speed braking and skidding anyway. Sorry for the mistakes, English is not my first language.

Me a super pro: honestly i didn't know that you could get a saddle at the trailer store. But something i think works better as far as auto shifting. I find it better to skip gears by putting it into auto, get moving and then shift into high and then back into auto. It will skip a few gears. Also on hills start with auto then shift into high versus going through low and then into high.

Thanks a lot, made a mistake of installing low bumper on White just couple of days ago. Kept wondering why it gets damaged so much with its big 47's. One thing I could add is: use winch as a safety when making a turn on uneven ground with unstable vehicle. For example, on Dam, there's a turn in woods below gas station (where the forest clears, there's a rock left of the turn, and beach on the right). So Paystar flips there easily. You can winch it on a side mount before starting to make the turn. I.e. get to the rock, winch left side to the trees on the rock, and make the turn. Don't manually pull it. The winch will prevent completely flipping the vehicle and stalling the engine. Just make sure you're on level ground when releasing the winch otherwise you can flip from momentum.

Also there is a glitch in multiplayer that makes the winch absolutely solid. if you roll up to your homie and put the winch on him and don't move controller and he winches, you are completely solid to the ground like a tree. If you move your controller you become the weight of the vehicle again. Super useful if you are a small truck and he rolled a large truck.

Some of those tips ruin the immersion or make it actually more difficult. 1) Winching. When winching from mud, it is sometimes better to let fuel burn in the towed truck, the plus side being that the towed truck does magor work for itself, and pulls itself from mud better, thus allowing you not to spin wheels, and sink or waste fuel. 2) Repair and refuel. I prefer to play realistically, so I have at least a dedicated fuel truck, which has a full cistern at all times. You don't see real life vehicles swap parts and refuel out of thin air, do you? 3) Rescuing big trucks. Again, realism. Have you ever seen a succesful recovery of a truck by a 4*4 car? To recover a truck, you at least need a comparable mass. Something only SLIGHTLY less heavy. 4) Manual loading. Near as I can tell, massive things can't jump in space. Also, you can't expect a GUY to even move the cargo with his two hands. So no, you should detach trailer, put the cargo as straight as you can, then fasten it. Frankly, while I understand recovery, saves and all the other things, I'm dissapointed that game lets you get away with the things I listed.

I wouldn't say noob vs pro more like hey here are some tips from a novice. here's the best tips I can give scout the entire map first. 2nd place fuel trailer at main crossroads for easy access also service trailers where the terrain is rough for fast repairs. 3rd take a crane truck and load the cargo you get from different locations(warehouse, service hub, factory and etc.) In the yard of the location so it shows up when you look at the map. It makes it faster to locate on a glance and you can plan pickups along the way just be sure to space them out in the yard so they don't overlap on the map view. 4th Repair all roads before starting contracts.5th cranes make the trucks top heavy and tip easy so don't leave them on unless you need them make sure you have the right gear for the job take your time enjoy the game and admire the hard work put into it with all the details and go explore every thing. 6th the long route is sometimes the best route and enjoyable unless you like to challenge yourself, however driving a huge truck and trailer through some of these trails will only lead to you wasting hours of your time before turning around or restarting the mission. (I've watched ppl go through half the game fouling everything up by rushing and then blaming the game. It's about strategy and patience)
