You're very thorough and informative sir. Nice video, I have to ask, during the part when you opened the warehouse in Amur did you try hauling the semi trailer while winched to the service trailer to save a trip? Seems like it may save fuel.

You're right! It is actually smart to winch a service trailer behind the semi trailer across those gaps, as this not only saves fuel, but also saves a trip across the dangerous gap backwards. The semi trailer gives extra stability when crossing the gap. I did it this way on my real game when phase 4 released.

An hour of playing and two restarts later with hard mode, I finally completed 7 minutes of your video. It was at that point my lack of patience won over and I watched the rest of your video to see how "we" did lol. I appreciate the effort you put into this, indeed a great guide for anyone attempting Hard Mode!

Amazing guide, helped me get my truck, thanks! The one thing I did differently is that I leeched fuel off the semi trailer the entire time, instead of turning it in for the gas station quest. You can pretty much fuel your entire Urska part with this trailer no problem. Also you can drag it out to the middle point on the river ice for central convenience. I suspect the guide creator did not do this for RP/playing truly hard mode reasons, and I can respect that dedication. Its truly a "I have 5 dollars, a Tayga and a dream" type of thing.

This has been a fantastic walk thru. Now I find myself stuck. I got super lucky. Early on I didn’t upgrade the tires on the fleetstar so I’ve been carrying around a little extra cash. When I went to back over the ice break I fell in. I had enough to recover my truck run down and grab my sideboard and load all the way up to the second service spare parts. I only had $4 so I went back to black river and ran the place beyond the spruces task. I got just enough cash to keep this train moving. You deserve to have this channel grow sir. Fantastic walk thru.

Well, thanks to your excellent video I finally have my Zikz back in Michigan, after a day or so of quickly hitting Alt-F4 and several uses of backed up save files. However, there is one thing I did differently that ended up making Urska River a lot easier. You are allowed to use up to 90% of a mission fuel trailer's load and still get a mission completion. So instead of turning in 3330 liters of usable fuel to open the fuel station for a $2050 reward, then having to go out of the way to buy it back for $2/liter, I crossed the river with it and parked it by the road to the garage and used it as a fuel station. This extended my range and made the trailer and cargo gathering a lot easier. After delivering the last of the service parts to the tunnel, I retrieved it and parked it by the station. I then retrieved the service trailer and opened the tunnel. Before going to Cosmodrome I topped off the Tayga one last time, then turned the trailer in. I had used around 1450 liters of fuel and so saved $2900 in refuel costs. I thought about just leaving it there for when I came back, but I figured by then the money and EXP would mean less to me than that it did so early in the game.

This is the best guide I've seen. I've been watching a ton and this is the only one that even seems possible early game. Managed to find my way through the fist map but gave up after trying to get through Cosmodrome a few times.

Great guide. I didn't go straight at the start of Hard Mode like you did, I used Tayga with big mud tyres and long nose Kolob and it was still super challenging. So well done to you!

I just completed this a few days ago, following your video and it's pretty much spot on. In fact, I did it in hard mode before I did it in my main save, which made getting the zikz in normal mode much easier. A few tips: - When pulling a trailer (especially the service trailer), be careful of getting the front corner of the trailer stuck on trees and light poles. Very annoying to have to disconnect, back up and winch it out. Especially when you rescue the tayga and have to climb up the hill through the trees with the Fleetstar. Another is when you bring the service trailer from the bottom right in Urska River back to the cosmodrome gateway, it's tempting to speed down the hill but watch out for the light poles - On Urska River, you'll have to climb up the ice road at the bottom part of the map twice. The first time is to bring the fuel tank semi trailer back to the fuel station. Once you hook up the trailer to the tayga, you can attach a winch from the trailer to the light pole to climb up. The second time is harder (bring the service trailer from bottom right to cosmodrome gateway), since winching from the service trailer will jack knife your truck. The trick (as mentioned in the video) is to put the right tires of the tayga as close as possible to the guard rail (barely enough to not damage the tires). Even the smallest of gaps will cause you to lose grip. So as soon as you see your truck sliding away from the guard rail, turn your steering wheel back to the right to re align. You should basically see no space between your tires and the guard rail - (Optional) Call it save scumming, but I recommend you make regular backups of your save file. Will save you a lot of stress if you mess up a river crossing or get stuck

Thanks for the great instructional video. I started a fresh hard mode campaign and followed your directions almost to a tee. I tell you what, 4 and a half hours and a lot of foul language later, the Zikz is mine! It’s chillin in the Black River garage. 🤘😬🤘

Hats off to you sir, wayyyy more patience than I could ever hope to achieve. I can barely make it thru 4 hrs on regular without rage quitting with vanilla trucks.

Awesome in depth guide, thanks for taking the time to show all the details. I just have 1 suggestion, you could save a little money by not handing that fuel semi trailer into the fuel station until its at 10% capacity. At 10% the task will still be completed, full money reward and fuel station working. But you can save thousands by utilising this 'free' fuel.

Took me almost 12hours to complet and 2 recovery later. I sold my gmc mh9500 from the start and the fleetstar the have extra cash. I brought my scout as a backup as i used it a few times. This is not a race take your time and be patient. Big thanks for posting this. You got a new subscriber here.

Incredible guide, thank you! I was able to follow the steps all the way through on my first run, and here are some alternative strats I ended up using: 1. You can do the bridge objective he mentioned at the start by using the Chevy to help pull the GMC forward. Definitely worth doing to get some easy cash and the upgrade. 2. I took a little extra time to get some fast cash in Michigan first. I cleared the road leading to Smithville Dam using the metal beams on a trailer by the garage and some service parts sitting on a trailer in town. Then in Smithville I cleared the path south of the fuel station that leads to the abandoned Chevy K1500 by picking up 2x service parts from the warehouse near the garage with the GMC. Haul the busted Chevy back to the garage and sell it for a quick $5,000, plus the $2,500 you made from completing two tasks. 3. When setting up the fuel station in Amur, I didn't activate the mission and turn in the trailer. I just dropped it near the fuel station and left it there. The trailer has 3,700 L of fuel that you can use to fill up for free instead of turning it in and paying $2/L. I would only turn it in if you absolutely need the cash payout, but doing what I mentioned in #1 and #2 will leave you with plenty. Even if you need to put fuel back in to finish the task later in your playthrough, that basically just makes it like a fuel loan that you can pay back when you have much more cash.

Great tips. What I did with the extra money you get from Michigan is to move the fleetstar over to Amur with a maintenance trailer that you fill up with the fuel of the fuel trailer that's close to the Drowned Lands(Taymyr) garage. I parked the fleetstar in the crossing close to the Urska River(Amur) garage and used it to refuel instead of doing the whole trips to the upper fuel trailer. I did because I was looking to tight on the fuel after retrieving the trailer and I actually saved some time not going up and down there (where the fuel trailer is) just to get fuel.

This is the best tutorial of unlocking 605r on the internet! Thanks a lot.

Amazing job! A very detailed guide. I'm near completion of Michigan in hard mode playthrough. I guess I'll put off getting Zikz 605R till my bank account gives me a good cushion against GAME OVER bankrupsy. I don't make back-ups of my save file for the thrill of it :) Anyhow, after having completed the game in normal mode as the DLCs kept coming, I retrospectively feel I'd welcome the Zikz in Kola, Yukon as well as Amur regions.

I now have a dayglo green camo ZIKZ 605R all of my own on my first attempt all thanks to your guide. Thankyou. 😁.

I must say considering that it’s called hard mode it was pretty straight forward and not very hard. It just took a bit of time. Sure some Trips can be avoided for example on cosmodrome where you pull the sideboard trailer to the fallen powerline I think you can hitch the fuel tanker with you and after clearing the road you leave empty sideboard there and switch to the tanker. But all in all it’s a very good Guide for sure. Nice work.

I've done it! took me about 4 hours but I did it without a fail on the hard mode. Altho i've reached lvl 4 first so I could get a can body on the fleetstar, so I could rescue Taiga without a fail. But man what a machine Zikz is... in the fking Black RIver, its OP af ! :D

Now there is a much easier truck you can get in Hard Mode early on. The Kenworth 963 in British Columbia. It's just as capable as the Zikz 605R, but SO much easier to unlock!

You can always refuel from the mission fuel trailers before you turn them in, as long as you leave over 10% of the fuel in the trailer before turning it in to save some $

I can't belive you did this with pretty much an not upgraded Tayga. I had to use a fully upgraded Tayga with the Tartarin.

I've did this using your starts in my second playthrough of game,brilliant, thanks a lot! Want to ask to, scout fuel trailers used to be attached to normal trucks or winch was allowed in empty trucks? because getting that scout fuel trailer out was problem for me

The first spot he mentioned was to get the Tayga, that is a base game truck that you have to repair in Tymar Russia, the 605R is a dlc heavy truck. For this guide you have to get the Tayga which is one of the best trucks in the game(depending on who you ask) to make it through the two rough dlc Russia maps to get the 605R. If you look in the shop it should tell you if a vehicle is dlc or not. It is a smaller Kolob that in many ways preforms better because of how small it is compared to the Kolob's but has the same functionality if not more beds. Not too sure where you got mixed up but just trying to help.

3:37 It will be a lot easier if you cross it with the reverse gear and then pull the trailer with winch. the stock front bumper of tayga won't let you pass it in normal way, Especially when you want to go this way back

Instead of buying a fuel trailer, you can winch the scout fuel carrier

Just a quick tip about driving on ice, if its clear(blue) it is safe to drive across. Sometimes in the video he says stick to the rocks, but you can also stick to the clear(blue) ice and you wont break through either.

is the taiga really worth it to be used on michigan? (replacing fleetstar/kodiak).., say i will not take the risk on urska and use the taiga instead to the rest of the grind.

When you buy a service trailer it comes with no service points

I’ve found I cannot refill fuel tankers and when I but them from the trailer store they are empty? Anyone else have the same issue?

I don’t play the game but it might be because the video is outdated and they’ve updated the game, I’m not sure though. Just a thought.

It should be mentioned that the Fleetstar is a horrible truck and will get insta stuck in the first mud patch right outside the Drowned Lands garage on the way to Tayga.

As long as there is 10% of the total fuel left in the trailer when you hand it in for a mission it will be accepted... Massive waste of fuel to hand it in without draining it first. Especially on hard mode...

Is the Zikz in the demo (standard version)? I only have 3 regions.

It would take a really long video to show all of it. Even if you nailed it perfectly in one shot, it would take a few hours to show the whole run. Although I'll agree that clips of certain spots (like crossing the ice to the fuel station in Amur) would have been nice

I dont know about all of u but all of this sounds very overly excessive for the early game even for hardmode. U really dont need the Zikz 605R that early, and for the ppl that do need it that early to not fail then they are really not rdy for hardmode yet. The Tayga and the Fleetstar are more then enough for mid to late Michigan.

Sounds like a lot of winching.
