Snowmobile Tilt Trailer Restoration & Accessories

Complete makeover and rehab of my 2003 Triton Tilt Snowmobile Trailer.I refurbished and/or replaced everything except the frame, lights, and axel. It's still not perfect, but for a neglected 16 year old trailer it looks pretty good. The only other addition will be a spray shield - still deciding between purchasing one or building a custom one.

Wow, nice video! I wasn't looking for a restoration more how the wires run through the trailer frame and seeing the deck off helped me understand the structure and how the wires might be routed... THANKS!

Love the ocd on the plywood. Was thinking about it earlier in the vid and was making me nuts too! My wife thinks I'm crazy picky for some odd reason. Great job and thanks for the vid!

Bud Matto I almost always wear glasses and an RZ mask when I use the table saw. This was one of those quick things and I didn’t put them on - which I know is the worst excuse. Thanks for the reminder, fingers and eyes are more important than saving a few minutes!

Ended up picking up another trailer that was beat up but it had a salt shield, loading light, and a few other things that I snagged off to put on mine. I also have an LED light kit that I need to put on there too!

bro check those wheel bearings, replace and or repack with grease. If bad they can leave you sitting along the road and ruin your day.

New ones. Teks self tapping wood to metal screws. I think they were like 2" or something close to that. Worked great because I didn't have to pre-drill.

I was just given the same trailer, but has the aluminum from shield! I am so glad I found this video, while looking to see what the angle bolt sticking up from the front floor was for! You video gave all the great ideas that I am going to use!! But,, the track glides appear to come with their own screws,, but how did you attach the track mat? Does the mat come with its own mounting screws? is it also adhesive in the back? Or did you just use regular screws? what kind? thank you! Great video!

Steve Andrusko I’m not sure what you mean by wish bone? I did end up pulling the tongue latch assembly apart later. I replaced the bolt and nut so it screwed in and out easier.

The VIN on these is on a sticker, so once the sticker is gone the trailer is a ghost lol - I was lucky because I have the title so it’s listed there, it’s the only reason I know mine.

@@loganmarksmedia Thank you. I also read on a forum last night that some have a second sticker with the vin behind one of the tail lights so I will be popping out those today to check it. If I find it, I will be under the trailer with a good permanent marker and putting the vin in at least 6 places.. Thanks again.

  • @loganmarksmedia

I’ve used anti seize on my enclosed trailers lugs and still had them get stuck. I store the sled trailer inside with the sled on it and rotate those wheels back and forth in the winter so they never stay on long enough or are in the elements long enough to worry about.
