Those snowblower machines are terribly powerful, and dangerous. Often, there is a city worker walking ahead of it to clear the way. Montreal gets many feet of snow per winter. When I lived there, a snowblower hit a snow covered Volkswagon on the street. He chewed up and destroyed 2 feet of it's rear end before he even realized that he had hit a car. Yes, he chewed up part of the car engine. The snowblower was hardly damaged at all. They can easily chew through tree branches, full metal garbage cans, snow shovels, metal sleds, big rocks, gravel, solid ice, and slash through curb concrete, and driveway asphalt.

Montreal has a few snow dumps, the largest being an old quarry. The truck are dumped over the edge at what looks to be the start of a bridge. There should be a YT video somewhere if you search for it .

I always heard that most often, the snow is simply dumped into the St. Lawrence river. Easy.
