    The lack of visible snow just shows how effective these ploughs are!

    Wow!! I'm impressed LivIng in the south east we very rarely see these in action. It'll be the day he do cut backs that we will need them.

    Great video, thanks. I love the detail about needing to isolate TPWS as well :)

    No worries, I always like to try and give some detail if I can. Had the locos been powering up I would not have spoken over the video as it would have been a crime not to let the 37s do the talking :-)

    There we go - the Train Real World is just like Train Sim World! You set up your chosen route for snow and the session starts with the snow evaporating🙊

    Awesome, would love to see them down the Hastings line one day! If that it’s still at Tonbridge? I remember seeing it a little while ago.

    @@DadRail I’ve only headed down to Tonbridge once - Reading, Reading West and Eastleigh are my usual freight spots! But I really should head down there again sometime 🙂

    @@AnthonyFurnival I’ve spotted at Eastleigh a couple of times, and driven to/through there more times than I care to remember :-) Reading West seems like a good location from what I’ve heard

    @@DadRail there’s a good chance I’ve captured you through Eastleigh without knowing it 😂 Reading West is good - reasonable variety 59s on the aggregates, 66s and 70s, occasionally something a little rarer like the DC Rail Freight 56 buzzing back and forth to Newbury last week or the occasional 60 from Theale Puma… and a McDonald’s right next to the station if you get hungry 😂 it’s the only station I’ve put out an all freight compilation at this week because it gets so much. It’s definitely worth a shot. My big aim this year is to capture a class 69… I still don’t have one!

    I don’t think these have ever been used in anger. And down here in the south the conductor rail freezes up way before you need a snow plough.

    When 2 locos are running in tandem, are all the controls on the trailing loco operated remotely from the leading one?

  • @DadRail

    @DadRail

    It depends how the locos are configured. It’s possible for them to work together in multiple. In a lot of cases but not all, when you see 2 locos it will only be 1 powering. The majority of the time the second loco is on the train as a transit move possibly for maintenance or to get the loco to a site for another working. It doesn’t make economical sense to have 2 locos running and burning fuel when 1 will be fine.
