Yeah in PA that is a ticket. Got to reasonably clean off the snow from the top of your car or truck. It can be a PITA, but having a clump of snow fly off it can blind the person driving behind you and cause an accident. Also, when that layer melts and freezes and slides out as sheet or block of ice it can kill someone. It has here, a few times.

You need to fully clean your roof of snow before driving. If you suddently hit the breaks you will get all that snow on your windshield and you will have to stop in the middle of the road to take it of. Or drive without a view through the windshield until you can stop.

Under Colorado law you are required to remove the snow off of the roof of your vehicle before driving. It is lazy, and reckless. It is essentially an unsecured load on your roof. And if something happens and you need to stop it can slide down and cover your view of the road. Not to mention large frozen chunks can damage other vehicles.
As a Disco 3 owner and fan, I enjoy all the films you do on it. Yes, it can be an expensive vehicle, but if you take on some of the maintenance your self it's not that bad. For me it's about the feeling of confidence the car gives and I think you sum that up nicely in the film. It's that feeling of being presented with a stretch of road/terrain or difficult weather conditions and being able to deal with it. I understand why you turned back early, although in the UK we'd say "you bottled it!". However, nobody wants to be stuck out all night in freezing conditions and possibly having to waste the time of rescue services. Thanks for the uploads.
Exactly 00:25 seconds in, and I'm annoyed. 🗣Brush the snow off your roof.
Who mixed the music in? Background music should not have oscillating volume that goes from lower than dialogue volume to near head banger ear splitting levels.
Would have been interesting to see the LR3 get high centered. Especially because the air suspension can raise up extra high if the traction control detects it getting stuck.
Don’t worry if you got stuck the air suspension would go into to “extended mode” and it can also go into “super extended mode” if that’s not enough, so I’m confident you would have got a lot further. But it’s also responsible driving to know when to go back and not put others at risk rescuing you Well done from the UK 🇬🇧🇺🇸🇬🇧🇺🇸🇬🇧🇺🇸
Should have went until you got stuck. You guys need hitch mounted winch so you can use it in multiple cars

@@TFLcar Gosh...living in CO as long as you have, that can't be NEWS to you, can it? Even I (as "tourist" from TX where we don't have snow much anymore) learned that living in Colorado Springs my first Winter there. Snow on the roof CAN be dangerous if it flies off (who knows where) while driving @ highway speeds. I know it's a hassle cleaning it off, but it's doing the right thing for you and others. Leaving snow on the roof can be a hazard even if it IS legal to do so in a given state. OTHERWISE...nice video of some serious CO snow-driving! Looking forward to taking my 2021 (when I get it) Chevy Colorado ZR2 up there to see how it (and the Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac tires) do in the same conditions. :-) -- BR

I grew up in Colorado and I am smiling at these comments. Most of us whom spent as much time as I have in the snowy mountains would never take the time to clear all the snow off the roof. There are many other things more important to worry about in the snow than a little snow falling off my roof at a stop sign. Lol

@@smarticus6384 Then you haven't learned much, either -- join the "Clueless in Colorado" club. The Initiation Fee is lower than most CCs (way cheaper than the ones in the Springs), however monthly dues vary: They're higher if you drive around with snow on the top of your vehicle. But really, what's so important in YOUR life that you can't take the extra few minutes to clear the snow? Absolutely nothing...don't kid yourself. Besides, you still don't get it: There's more to it than "some snow falling off your roof at a stop sign." BTW, your screen-name is a misnomer: Wishful thinking on your part. -- BR
Clean off the roof and headlights. Great video, but please do a better job of snow clearing. Safety first guys.
Really lazy that you didn’t clean the snow off the roof. Should’ve had Andre or Nathan do the test. They wouldn’t have chickened out at the end.
We no like the music. Stick to the basics. Love the channel.
You make a good point about having the right vehicle for the weather. It's just as important to have the right tires for the weather. I had a Saab 900T with Pirelli P6s on it and got caught in a late season storm in Upstate NY. It was helpless, but with snowtires it was unstoppable. Fun Video!
OMG !!! ROMAN with those old lady glasses just too funny hahaha... driving to BINGO during a snow storm , maybe he's part of the golden girls lol....

Great stuff. I bet it's fun to do a father/son vid like this, too. One recommendation, cut the video when you're shooting vehicles in snow, unless it's super windy. There aren't many sounds out there like tires going through snow. The crunching is relaxing!
Great video guys, but the music makes me feel like I am in a beach club.. ruins a bit of the video...
One more thing if it high centers it has an extra inch or two left in the air suspension that the terrain response reserves to help you get unstuck, I believe that’s how those Johnson rods they sell for these to get an instant 2” lift in. Those install in 30 minutes by the way.
I own a 07 LR3 and live down in Lakewood! I can't wait for winter now and to try this road!!
Could have made it further. They have a none selectable setting of "superextended mode" , should you get high centred it'll lift the vehicle even higher to clear the obstruction. That's when you start to think about turning back.
Impressive snowfall; impressive vehicle! And right decision to call it... better safe than stuck!
Love your videos on the Land Rover.. we own a 2006 LR3 that we utilize for Land Cruising/Off roading. And, a 2016 LR4 HSE for the family. Never have had any issue.. just your routine maintenance. You guys are awesome. Please more videos on the LR3.

Loved the whole thing. Nice to see some videos of just driving and enjoying nature.
The old Britt did an awesome job! I think she’d made it, but still good decision on Roman’s part to turn around. I’m ok with snow, but not with sliding, I go immediately into panic mode and lock up, many years ago my wife slid her Suzuki XL7 off the side of driveway in a 36 inch snow, she got out before it went over, but did around 8 thousand dollars in damage, the body shop we took it to did an awful job and we lost our tail when we traded it in on a CRV, this happened all because of a bad decision not to park at the bottom and wait for me to get home and carry her stuff up. Thank God she wasn’t hurt! Another great TFL video!!! Also sometimes a repair ain’t the way to go, take the loss and go get something else, a bad repair and a salvage title will kill you, but all we could see was it was nearly paid off, live and learn. My old bosses son is a pilot for Spirit Airlines and lives in Golden I’m sure he was out in his Tacoma playing in this, Jerod stay safe, listen to Roman!!!
The music selection in the whole video was TOP NOTCH. Truly matches the LR3 adventure !
Wow, I was so surprised to see you guys drive the vehicle with all the snow, even on the hood, where's the effort and respect for other drivers behind you. Tommy is generally a guy of principal. Again, no effort to go up the road, you didn't even get stuck. I'm a big fan of the channel but this one left me on my appetite. Strange that a country that rarely sees snow anything as deep as that is so good at building a truck that handles it so impressively. In the UK a couple of inches of snow usually means traffic chaos, with huge tailbacks. Maybe we should all be driving Landrovers?🤔

Guy's you chickened out. Pretty sure had you have brought Nathan along, you'd have been to the top and back. Don't forget, you have something called super extended mode, if the LR recognizes its bottomed out it will raise the suspension to full height. Usually another 1.5-2" of ground clearance.
