    Yeah in PA that is a ticket. Got to reasonably clean off the snow from the top of your car or truck. It can be a PITA, but having a clump of snow fly off it can blind the person driving behind you and cause an accident. Also, when that layer melts and freezes and slides out as sheet or block of ice it can kill someone. It has here, a few times.

    You need to fully clean your roof of snow before driving. If you suddently hit the breaks you will get all that snow on your windshield and you will have to stop in the middle of the road to take it of. Or drive without a view through the windshield until you can stop.

    Under Colorado law you are required to remove the snow off of the roof of your vehicle before driving. It is lazy, and reckless. It is essentially an unsecured load on your roof. And if something happens and you need to stop it can slide down and cover your view of the road. Not to mention large frozen chunks can damage other vehicles.

  • @OffMyCloud

    As a Disco 3 owner and fan, I enjoy all the films you do on it. Yes, it can be an expensive vehicle, but if you take on some of the maintenance your self it's not that bad. For me it's about the feeling of confidence the car gives and I think you sum that up nicely in the film. It's that feeling of being presented with a stretch of road/terrain or difficult weather conditions and being able to deal with it. I understand why you turned back early, although in the UK we'd say "you bottled it!". However, nobody wants to be stuck out all night in freezing conditions and possibly having to waste the time of rescue services. Thanks for the uploads.

  • @8to270
    @8to2704 жыл бұрын

    Don’t worry if you got stuck the air suspension would go into to “extended mode” and it can also go into “super extended mode” if that’s not enough, so I’m confident you would have got a lot further. But it’s also responsible driving to know when to go back and not put others at risk rescuing you Well done from the UK 🇬🇧🇺🇸🇬🇧🇺🇸🇬🇧🇺🇸

Snow on the roof CAN be dangerous if it flies off (who knows where) while driving @ highway speeds. I know it's a hassle cleaning it off, but it's doing the right thing for you and others. Leaving snow on the roof can be a hazard even if it IS legal to do so in a given state. OTHERWISE...nice video of some serious CO snow-driving! I grew up in Colorado and I am smiling at these comments. Most of us whom spent as much time as I have in the snowy mountains would never take the time to clear all the snow off the roof. There are many other things more important to worry about in the snow than a little snow falling off my roof at a stop sign. Lol

The Initiation Fee is lower than most CCs (way cheaper than the ones in the Springs), however monthly dues vary: They're higher if you drive around with snow on the top of your vehicle. But really, what's so important in YOUR life that you can't take the extra few minutes to clear the snow? Absolutely nothing...don't kid yourself. The old Britt did an awesome job! I think she’d made it, but still good decision on Roman’s part to turn around. I’m ok with snow, but not with sliding, I go immediately into panic mode and lock up, many years ago my wife slid her Suzuki XL7 off the side of driveway in a 36 inch snow, she got out before it went over, but did around 8 thousand dollars in damage, the body shop we took it to did an awful job and we lost our tail when we traded it in on a CRV, this happened all because of a bad decision not to park at the bottom and wait for me to get home and carry her stuff up. Thank God she wasn’t hurt! Another great TFL video!!! Also sometimes a repair ain’t the way to go, take the loss and go get something else, a bad repair and a salvage title will kill you, but all we could see was it was nearly paid off, live and learn. My old bosses son is a pilot for Spirit Airlines and lives in Golden I’m sure he was out in his Tacoma playing in this, Jerod stay safe, listen to Roman!!!

    Been a little while since we've seen Lick Skillet. One of my favorite TFL snow videos is the Wrangler vs Mazda 3 on snow tires on Lick Skillet Rd..

    Guy's you chickened out. Pretty sure had you have brought Nathan along, you'd have been to the top and back. Don't forget, you have something called super extended mode, if the LR recognizes its bottomed out it will raise the suspension to full height. Usually another 1.5-2" of ground clearance.

    Good video but PLEASE!!! Please check your music volume between talking and music parts! It made it painful to watch with headphones and unable to watch without them while at work. Please work on this and thank you.

    Oh chivalry, chivalry, wherefore art thou, chivalry? Gentlemen would've helped that lady shovel some snow off her driveway ... in exchange for a warm cuddle 😋

    Hey, can we trade weather? It was 93 degrees yesterday in Long Beach, CA. Today, my beach city is suppose to hit 90 degrees or more later in the afternoon.

    We Kind of enjoyed your video, we do miss Colorado, but they’re from 94 to 2005 Drove tractor trailer all those yours., and I drove from Conifer (8730 ft) to commerce city every work day, and never got stuck one day! By the way, I drove a 1993 Ford Ranger XLT extended cab “ 2 wheel drive”, Minnesota driving experience helped! Studded snow tires and sand weight helped! Also, driving like you have a “Brain In Your Head” really helps! Pushed a lot of snow with my front bumper! “ DRIVE SMART”!

    Love your channel guys. What part of Colorado are you filming this? I'm living in Hawaii currently but will be moving to Colorado next March and I'm actually looking forward to some change in weather as funny as that sounds. I grew up in north east area and I love driving out in the snow when everything is closed or nobody is out. I have a 2003 Montero now and I'll most likely have to sell it on island but I'm looking forward to getting into something similar when I get out there. How has the LR3 been holding up?

    I love that feeling too, it’s almost like you’re transported to some mystical , arctic paradise. The still , crisp night air, the fact you’re often the only one out, is one of the only perks to harsh winters.

    Lol, wondered when you were going to make the call on getting bellied. I could never afford a Landie so used a Fiat Panda in deep snow. Could pick the arse up and spin it round when it got stuck, kept going in reverse until the back window or exhaust was snow blocked. Happy memories.

    Born and raised in Boulder CO and I had to get to work in this rough storm. I unfortunately have a small Mazda. It wasn't much fun. Im definitely that group you were talking about "having the wrong car for the conditions" someday I'll get a more serious CO vehicle. Once I can afford one.
