This is great because I just went on a snorkel trip with "instructors" who didn't teach me anything and I had to intuively figure out most of these, including the fact that my too-big palms caused my leg cramp (fitting took 1.5 seconds and they only asked me if they were too tight and said it was good it wasn't). They kindly changed my mask while I was already in the water but didn't give me any tips on getting the water out or how any of it worked so it took me a while to get the hang of it. I wish you had been my instructor!

Barracudas do not normally attack humans. However they are sometimes attracted by by reflections of shiny metals, so try to not to wear any jewelry for snorkeling, however if you find that you have forgotten to remove the jewelry hide it from sight or cover it with your other hand. Then back off slowly, do not approach the barracuda and it will not bother you ;)

I have done snorkelling in Tunku Abdul Rahman park, Sabah. I got sunburn and it took me 1 month to recover. I fell sick that night for soaking myself in salt water too long.

Kudos on your safety and environmental ethics. "Don't feed marine animals" ... so many people, including divemaster and trained "naturalist" divers violate this and other rules on a regular basis, including during training dives. It's great to hear you tell people straight out "Don't feed marine animals." Best wishes.

Are guys seriously talking about the fake acting? Well you should know its not a movie or a drama. Its a video of information and tips regarding how to snorkel and the information provided are super good. If you guys want to see pro acting you should try a movie. Good job and very informative.

I have a question, i may sound stupid but when u r inside u have already held your breathe n gone in right? Like u r not breathing from mouth like u do when snorkel is on surface? Btw nice video, ty!

Is it possible to do it with glasses on or are there any alternatives available for people wearing glasses?? Any response will be appreciated.

So beautiful there and great information. I'f you are going to dive a little deeper or longer don't keep the snorkel in your mouth, water can come into your mouth and lungs, you can drown.

Do you breath in from the mouth or nose?

If we stay at the resort do we get to use snorkeling gears for free or do we have to pay for it? And is it good to Buy gears from India or we can get it good quality at better rate in Maldives?

What are your thoughts on the snorkel vest vs life jacket thing? Ive heard type 1 wont cut if for snorkeling but type 2 and 3 might allow you to keep your head in the water. (I see these people are wearing life jackets)

Snorkel Vests can be adjusted to the buoyancy we require, if an individual wish to dive with Snorkeling vest, they are able to do so by deflating the vest (similar to Buoyancy control device (BCD) in scuba diving). However Life jackets are not built to do so, they are buoyant and keep you always at the surface. Both types are comfortable and Safe but if you wish to do bit of diving with your snorkel, it’s highly recommend to have a Snorkel vest. in a another a case, if you are not that comfortable in the water or if it’s your first time snorkeling, it’s recommend to wear a Life jacket, which will help you float all times.
