Snorkeling Thailand - Best on Koh Phangan

Best Snorkeling on Koh Phangan
Just off the North coast of Koh Phangan is the small Island of Ko Ma where you will find the best snorkeling on Koh Phangan and one of the best snorkeling locations in Thailand.
During low tide, a strip of sand connects ko Ma to Koh Phangan creating two bays. Both sides are great for snorkeling. You can rent gear on the beach and swim to the shallow reefs from shore.
The nearby island of Koh Tao is known for its snorkeling and is only a boat ride away. Ko Ma and the reef along Mae Haad is a main stop of the best snorkeling tours.
We hope you enjoy the underwater tour on both sides of Ko Ma.

Thanks Karo. I'm very lucky to have some world class snorkeling reefs so close to my house. I'm trying to take advantage of it before I move again. Thanks for leaving a comment.

Such gorgeous shots! I have spent a lot of time on the Andaman coast of Thailand but have never been to the Gulf side. I'm hoping to get there soon and see this for myself! :)

The underwater visibility is great here now. at least double of that when I shot the video. I'm hoping to go to the Adaman coast soon.

Thanks for taking us on the snorkeling trip! I'm a passionate snorkeler and can get excited over every little fish in the ocean 🐠🤗. How's the water temperature there?

The water temperature is very nice, usually between 27-31 degrees Celsius, or 81-87 F. I shot this video when the visibility was worse than average and it's right off the beach.

I'm glad you enjoyed the video and had the opportunity to snorkel at Ko Ma. The music I used was from Epidemicsound.com. It was a combination of several ambient tracks but I don't have the exact track names right now. I will try to look them up and add them to the description in the future.

So relaxing with the music and soft coral waving in the currents. I love all of the tropical fish that I see in the fish stores. How deep was the reef?

I'm very lucky. This beach is only 5 minutes from my house and you can swim to the reef from the shore. The reef is about 6 feet deep in the shallow part but it's very large so there are deep areas too,

@@GoTravelOnTheCheap , Unfortunately, no. I don't always have a diving partner and try not to go alone too often. I paddleboard about 3 times a week and usually bring a mask for a short swim.
