Snoopy Christmas brings back lots of memories as it was the first song I heard as a child. It was tradition that every year my mom & dad would bring out the record player and this record at Christmas and played it for me. I am surprised I didn’t wear the song out. My parents have passed but thanks to them I have the memories of Snoopy. Peace to all

I have always viewed the Snoopy's Christmas story as being The Red Baron and Snoopy really like each other, respect each other as flyers, that it's a competition between the two to see who can outfly the other, shoot the other's plane down first, but they don't want to kill each other. They are friends, just competing with each other to see who is the top flier. They both try to shoot each other's plane down without causing a fatal crash, but just damaged enough to make a safe forced landing.

wasn't uncommon in early WW1 either, many of the best pilots knew or at least knew of each other since it was still a relatively small and new field.

Actually this song is about a Luftwaffe ace's refusal to shoot down a badly shot up bomber, instead escorted them to safety, the pilot of the bomber was Charlie Brown

Neat Animation some interesting things about it. In the beginning we see the Red Baron, Manfred von Richthofen, flying in an Albatros triplane which did exist in WWI but never entered service at the front. Next, written on the side of the fuselage is LO. This was the first wife’s name of German ace Ernst Udet who was the highest scoring German ace of the war with 62 victories. Why his first wife’s name is on the Baron’s plane would be interesting to hear, haha. Then enters Snoopy flying a SPAD XIII fighter in Eddie Rickenbacker’s color scheme. Rickenbacker was America’s highest scoring ace of the war and who survived it. But Snoopy is supposed to be flying a Sopwith Camel which then shows up when he lands behind enemy lines. The Baron’s Albatros triplane then becomes a Fokker Triplane which is correct. Interesting stuff I thought your viewers may want a historical breakdown of a fictional character, Snoopy in a fictional story. God bless our troops, all those who serve and God bless the USA. I’ve loved this song since childhood, merry Christmas!

Try to envision a "Hanna Barbera" Christmas special (done on a license) where you see the Banana Splits performing this song, mingled with animated scenes of the song's story by Charles Schultz himself! Trippy crossover, isn't it? ;) 1) Reanimate this sequence to look as much like Charles Schultz himself animated it. 2) If you'd rather skip MAD Magazine's parody (Adventures of the Red Baron), use the Red Baron from the Pizza Logo! 3.5) I dunno, fit Jeff Maudlin's guys (Willie and Joe) in, along with Beetle Bailey and Sad Sack? Also, if Gen. Halftrack is present, fit in the WAC where Olive Oyl and Alice the Goon are stationed (with the exitable woman drill sargeant). I swear, I have actually seen a Popeye cartoon where a segment was this WAC with Olive and Alice, with Halftrack gueststaring. 3) Splice this and shots of the Banana Splits performing this song. 4) Try to create a trippy Christmas special for this to be in. Bonus) If anyone can think of anything else, let me know...

For many years my sons, (now 35 & 36) usually younger, ( before videos and music on demand) would stay up all night with me listening for this song on the radio. One night my youngest said Mom I am so sorry for your not hearing your favorite Christmas song! (He did notice. Tears in my eyes, but wisely just hugged me and said night, Mama.) Memories so precious, is why this song means so much to me, both my childhood (Love you Mommy & Daddy, both gone 😓) and my son's, who was a young teen that night. An absolutely beautiful rendition video wise! Blessings to all this Christmas, and Joyous New Year!
