It’s also worth mentioning to wash and dry your hands before using your cue, and after a few frames. As chalk residue on your hands absorb moisture and can make them clammy. This affects your cue action and can make it inconsistent. You’d be surprised what a difference clean hands make. This and a clean cue is always an advantage.

Worth keeping some hand sanitiser gel in your cue case as well, applying it periodically can help dry your hands out when they get clammy which helps stop dirt sticking to them.

The distinction between Eye Dominance and Centre of Vision is an important one. I am very left-eye dominant (though right-handed), and I find that my Centre of Vision is slightly to the right of centre. If I cue up with my cue more to the left side, I consistently hook balls to the left.

Regarding dominant eye... I found the best way, for me, to find where to place my head is to set up a straight in shot, align the cue from above to the center of the cue ball, brace the cue in place, get down on the shot, and without moving the cue move my head until I see the tip at the center of the cue ball and the cue pointing at the center of the object ball. For me this means my right dominant eye is slightly right of the cue. My right nostril is over the cue.

I found my vision centre easily. The way i did it is a modified version of that test u showed. Instead of closing an eye. Keep bkth eyes open bring the hands towards your face a keep object in centre of hands (the smalled the gap between them the more accurate the test will be) i found to keep it centred in the gap i brought my hands towards my vision centre

Regarding the angle of arm to cue when the tip is at the cue ball... (and I'm still working on this...), for best draw for me, my hand needs to be further back than the 90° mark. My thinking, and cue ball reaction shows this, is that if my arm is at a right angle, as I follow through, the tip of my cue is lowering and my draw fails, usually by popping the cue ball of of the table. For accuracy with general shots, I'm finding if my back hand is forward of the 90° mark my potting percentage goes up. I guess finding what works best is a lot of trial, observation, and tweaking! One thing I do notice when I make my better shots, my cue arm feels very relaxed and next to zero effort is felt on the shot. And thing go way wrong when my side, shoulder, upper and lower arm feel tension.

With some help of a friend I have found out why my accuracy in potting is much higher if my back hand is forward of the 90° mark... It turns out when my hand is at the "proper" 90° mark, as my back hand comes through it moves (generally towards my body, but not always) and, therefore, throws the cue off line as I'm striking the cue ball. My bad hand movement is less or not noticeable when my back hand is further forward on the cue. Does anyone out there have any hints on how to correct/straighten out my rear hand movement? Thanks in advance!

Another mistake people make in their grip is holding the cue too tightly. Most players could benefit from loosening their grip a bit. The fingers wrap around the cue, but virtually no actual "grip" whatsoever. The less factors you have influencing the path of the cue, the better, and the tighter you hold the cue the more you influence its path.

Short answer is to just focus on playing the game. The pressure won’t go away but you will be thinking about what you need to do. Eventually It won’t effect you any more. A slightly longer and i think crazy answer is in this video kzread.info/dash/bejne/oqmk2sN8oc28h6w.html Will make a video (or series if I can pad it out that much) in 2 weeks time about this
