It’s called “living in the Philippines” (but with chill parents)

When I'm asking my parents it usually goes: my mom, "ask your dad" and then when I go to my dad he says, "ask your mom"... This goes on a vicious cycle until they actually listen to what I'm asking them and in the end my dad just agrees to whatever my mom says...

This will be a letter of love for you. The colors, the shots, the dialogue, the execution, the voice over-- the way you make these all interact to give us not even a second of boredom, it makes me yearn so badly how much you could do if I give you 12 million pesos to be the creative director for a movie. I don't think its a unique experience, especially for a Filipino kid, to grow up watching animated stories from other cultures because we don't have a lot of those to go around here. So watching all your videos, even if its not advertised as an "in-the-face-Filipino" thing, it makes me and the twelve year old kid who was so ashamed of being Filipino, proud, excited and most of all understood. See-- its not even the in the face proclamation of being a Filipino made video, its more the subtleties-- from the way you interact with the location, the way your inflection changes to incorporate the Filipino twang, to the way you reference to things only we know, they all contribute to this novel experience-- Of having a good story/video mdae by someone whos experiences stem from the same culture as me. Thank you so much for giving me that unique experience, that childlike wonder and excitement that comes with relating, on a level that I could almost _touch_ when most of the time, in my years of reading and watching stories, I've only been forced to discover. Basta, theres a difference! Both are good, but I want to have more creators like you. Thanks for doing what you do, for being who you are and for letting me be a kid again through your videos. Keep on doing this great work. -- ps, sorry medyo malabo yung love letter, sabaw isip ko ngayon from classes and discussion with le dad as well, kaya pinanood ko talaga yung video mo for reprieve and you gave me more than that, you gave me inspiration. thanks for that!
