I’m giving advice on sewing. My mother would be so proud I remember the lessons she taught me. As your sewing if you take one hand and feed the piece it into the needle and take your other hand hold it in the back behind the needle it will stable the piece more as your sewing and helps with not getting the fingers hurt.

How charming these snippet strips are! A suggestion for sewing the first snippet roll: use a pointy stick, like an "orange stick" ( old timey manicure tool) to push your fabric instead of using your fingers. It's slender size gives you more control. Remember to turn your clocks ahead tonight! 😉⏰

I made mine the same way as this but with strips of used copy paper painted on the white side, all different colors (painty papers) and torn into strips using the edge of a ruler. Then I sewed them just like this. Without a sewing machine you could do Pam's "no sew" version but use paper strips as I described. You can make nice snippets with scraps of paper.

Hi Pam!🌸🦋☘️ I am such a fan of your channel and I joined your Channel on Jun.2nd, 2019. It was a particularly challenging time for me and my husband, because he began his journey with Dementia. You have been a real Ray if sunshine and joy to me. I tell you all of this because one of my fav episodes was when you made snippet rolls from strips of paper, torn cheesecloth, ink pads , glue and of course, stickles!!! I couldn’t get my history with you to go back more than 2 yrs ago. I remember it very vividly because I realized how gorgeous things could be made from paper, glue and common things just laying around! Thank you for the joy of paper crafting!

Enjoyig this so very much. Just thinking 'what do I have that I can cut up'. Good advise about not telling what you are really going to do with it. I made the mistake of telling my mom what I wanted to do with a bed frame she was getting rid of when they were moving to N. Carolina. When I told her I wanted to use it in my yard as a 'flower bed'. I had seen on Pinterest or somewhere. She wouldn't let me have it. Heaven forbid I would put it to good use. I'd hate to think what she'd say about my newfound interest in Junk Journals. She's been gone now 9 years and I miss her. Thank you for all the wonderful information you give us. Have a very blessed day. Hugs and cuddles for Sunny. 🥰🙏❤️

Love the snippet rolls! I am a seamstress, and have been sewing since I was 8. I worked for years at a big department store doing alterations on both mens and women clothing. The glue stick doesn't bother me a bit! People knowing that I sew have came to me in a crisis at the office or at a party, evening out with the "Help Me" cry! With my craft background also you wouldn't believe the things I have used, that would turn the toes of a hard core seamstress. My motto is "if it works, don't knock it"! FYI Pam - check these bottles to use with your glues to get fine line. Amazon, 6 pcs Syringe Bottle with 15 pcs Dispensing Needles and 12 pcs cap (30ml &50ml) Brand Shaotong $9.50 I love mine! Thanks for another great video

Pam, if you start with your “thread take up lever” always UP, the thread won’t pull out of the needle on you. That is the lever at the top of your machine with the big eye, directly above the needle. Some of the newer machines automatically thread that eye as you ‘hook’ the thread up and over after the tension control. Takes a sec to check the lever placement but better than retreading the needle all the time. Kristie

Pam, the foot comes off because the screw holding it loosens as u sew...my policy b4 I sew each time is to take my screwdriver and tighten it so that the foot doesn't come off in the middle of a project...the screw is on the left side of the shank where the foot holds onto...just give it a tighten n the foot won't fall off in the middle and potentially cause a problem in the middle of the project...just an FYI from a sewist...any sewing questions you can always ask me...use any source you can for info to progress your art...is my view...
