I wanted to but couldn't decide between 2, 3 and army. This looks a bit more open which really seems to fit the gameplay. Amazing on that tagging element.

Your review of Zombie Army Trilogy was what brought me to Rebellion’s series, but Sniper Elite 4 was what made me stay. This game is my seventieth physical Switch game purchase, but only about three games have hooked me into constantly playing them via multi-day sessions in an effort to FINISH them. Everything in this game just clicks - the ginormous open maps, the controls, the environments, the “don’t care how you do it, just do it” gameplay, the meta via letters, descriptions and conversations, the rush when you take out tanks and heavy machinery...the game is almost perfect. The game is so good, I just might start writing and talking about games again (former DS Jim podcast, 2007-2009), and have even recorded several videos in order to talk about it. Never since Breath of the Wild have I experienced such joy in playing games (Sakuna came very close, though).

Love this series, played this when it came out in 2017, gonna get this and revisit it on switch...great review!

That hidden and dangerous reference was on point, SE4 was the first SE that really gave me that vibe as well

You guys made me get Zombie Army Trilogy and now this, and i love you for that, without your reviews i wouldnt have considered those games at all, and now they are among my all time favourites on the Switch.

If 12 year old me knew I would be playing handheld games that look this good, he would've lost his mind. Looks amazing. I think I'Il wait for a sale. Just have so much to play already. Definitely on my wishlist though.

I actually got this game along with V2 and 3 physically from a Giveaway from the Sniper Elite twitter. And honestly as someone who has all the DLC on Ps4 and has dumped a good amount of hours into that version, to see it look, run and play as well as it does on Switch is amazing. Really goes to show the work they put in to optimize it and to have it be one of the best versions of the game. Now I can take my sniping with me where ever I go and I hope they continue to support this series on Switch.

I quite enjoyed working through 3, after you recommended it highly! Picking that up for £12 was well worth it! Great review here guys, I'm looking forward to getting this when it's a little cheaper!

One of my favorite games on Switch along with Alien Isolation. Doom Eternal needs to come to Switch soon

Definitely gonna have to pick this up physically! I've never played any of the games in this series, but I love the idea of this open world objective style missions. Could see myself sinking some serious hours into this. (I also really like the idea of giving you a little insight into the 'enemies' to show they're regular people too)

you guys had me sold on this series for awhile but still haven't committed. looks to be a slow December maybe ill finally take the plung.

The previous two physical games in this series are crazy expensive right now and I'm just getting into this game. Hopefully I can find the others for a reasonable price.

I got Sniper Elite 3 on your recommendation and I really enjoyed it. I skipped most of the story (boring) but the game was consistently good (though there was some minor clipping there as well) and I liked how each level was the same structure of targeting guys and taking them out, with no gimmicky changes (I'm looking at you Assassins Creed). 2 and 3 came out on PS3/XBOX360, but 4 came out on PS4, so I was a little concerned about the performance. Looks pretty solid though. It seems like they are mildly improving in the story side of things (which needed a lot of improvement), but keeping that consistently good gameplay.

Enemy At The Gates reference?...hmmm. was it the mention of Vassili?

Any idea how to shoulder aim with the switch controllers? Can't unlock recoil without being able to do it.

Great review. Really want to dive into this series as looks right up my street. Do I need to play the others first or should I fire straight in with the latest and then play the others?

Bought the digital deluxe edition...the controls and machine gun engagements are much improved. This is like the best week ever with my switch..currently playing this...outer worlds..need for speed..with smaller games on the side.

This was free on PS+ a little while ago. Played the first map last night. Can’t wait to try it in coop.

I completed and LOVED Sniper Elite 3. And now I'm hungry for more since Ircha Man has forced me to watch the HBO series "band of brothers" and all I can think of while watching it is how much I need another sniper fix.

You guys should add a difficulty score in these reviews so people can see if they’re like it casual /hardcore gamers 👍🏻

I think with these games - there are multiple difficulty modes which I do usually mention. Where that’s not present I tend to give more air time to difficulty. Mark

Yes. Though it's a fun feature, I feel it's a bit gimmicky and distracting, so I switch it off.

Gives me MGSV vibes, in a good way.

I have had so much fun playing the multiplayer on 3

I'll def pick it up on a sale!

Hidden & Dangerous 2 was an incredible game. I could tell scenario's that just organically happened in that game like a grandfather telling real war stories. I didn't know about that extra bit of information when tagging an "enemy". I'm sold, now that I know it's not just another good guy vs bad generic guys" game where you just pile the bodies and never question that they may not be bad guys or enemies.

Does it matter which Sniper Elite to start with for new players?

Does this game have local co-op? I'm kind of curious as me and my cousin would like to play this on our Switch. NSO is a pain so we stick to local

I got the game a few months ago in Japan but I didn’t being my switch so for about a week, I couldn’t think of anything other than the game. The good thing about games on switch is that even though the graphics are a bit worse than other consoles, it being on a small screen and on the go, I barely notice. I love having a switch on planes with my headphones but without movies for like 4 hours.

Happy to see these games are well optimised. I only have v2, anyone know if the pvp servers are populated enough in 3 or 4? I remember having an absolute blast playing the multiplayer of 3 on ps4

We have a small but dedicated fan base that plays 2, 3, and 4 on the regular, so there’s usually always at least one lobby to find

I am trying to play the beginning of Sniper Elite 4 on cadet level. After the first melee kill, I am supposed to use the R button to use binoculars. I press R and every other button but nothing happens except crouching. Is there anyone can help?

Great review this Series is great

I was looking forward to this when I hoping it’d be on the Switch after 3 was announced. I played 3 & 4 on the PS4. It was an easy buy for me This is one of the rare games where it can take you a few hours or more to explore the entire map. Since you mentioned the Hitman reference, it’d be nice to see some of those ported. Especially as it’s fun to muck about in them.

Are there any other modes to play offline in Sniper Elite 4?

Thanks Mark. Will wait for +DLC version at same price. Until then, i'll grab the steam version from "key shop here" with all DLC at half Switch version price, run at 60fps on my 1080P £250 budget PC. Then remote play via a £50 tablet with 1ms latency over 5GHz WiFi using xbox 360 controller that has improved analogue range and control. Motion controls? The only good benefit. Curious if this lacks crossplay in MP such as Battlezone Gold? When 60fps is really required for the stock difficulty level on both platforms. Rebel? Normal comment.

One thing in gameplay that you didn’t mention is how you can adjust your scope for range of enemy. As a real shooting enthusiast that really stood out to me. This game has an awesome understanding of ballistics that made the game so much better to me than a lot of newer games. Awesome review though, thanks.

My sister got this a while back. Am considering now as it’s on sale and we pay multi player on line a bit. She’s in France and I am in wales

ZAT is an amazing game that shouldn't be missed. Play it any way you can. Solo is VERY tough but co-op with even just one other person makes finishing it much more viable. I have it on PC, PS4, XBO, and Switch. 80 synth music complements the vibe and the visuals do the job. Above all it's a lot of fun to play.
