To explain, the Zaku is basically the iconic enemy robot in Gundam's main timeline. It's so iconic that even other timelines will have their own variant of the Zaku, either in name or status.

Gundam has made 159 billion Japanese yen this year alone and we're not even 6 months in. It's one of the biggest anime ever made. It's not niche or obscure. It's a giant. Edit: 160 billion yen is 805,280,000 British pounds and 1,024,128,000 American Dollars.

Yeah Gundam is DEFINITELY not obscure. I think he should have said it's obscure in mainstream media in America compared to Japan. I'd make a pretty good bet the average Joe doesn't know about Gundam, compared to Japan where the average Joe might have heard of it

Over their lifetimes, Gundam's made more money than Dragonball as of a few years ago. Something like 26B vs 24B USD. It's an absolutely massive franchise across all of asia.

It's confirmed. 3 bundles and an event: RX-78-2 - Gundam MS-06S - Zaku II XVX-016 - Aerial The event will be from June 5th to the 19th, and I *think* is a challenge event as opposed to an EXP event.

As a diehard fan of Neon Genesis Evangelion, that sounds awesome. I've seen meme edits of Gundam and saw that it does go places you wouldn't expect unless you're familiar with those darker anime themes. All I remember was seeing something large, everyone was afraid, and Komm, süsser Tod was edited in. It looked fun.

Zaku is not a gundam character!! It is a mobile suit used by the principality of Zeon. The red Zaku was piolted by Char Aznable!

I think Gundam might be a bigger brand than COD just because of how old and far around the globe it actually reaches. I’ve never been a fan of COD but I could get behind it if Gundam is involved. And I imagine there are Gundam fanatics that will give MW3 a chance for the exact same reasons

Here is my thought, instead of the gundam being the operator itvwill be the juggernaut suit. So rx78-02 the pilot Amuro Ray will be the operator, instead of a Juggernaut suit dropping a gundam would then drop for him to pilot.

There is not. From the CoD post: RX-78-2 - Gundam MS-06S - Zaku II XVX-016 - Aerial Event from June 5th to 19th I haven't the foggiest about other cosmetics, but that's the big focus.

If Gundam fans get mad at a Transformers comparison then they’re dumb the creators of transformers literally admitted it’s based off of Gundam

I started getting into Gundam around 2018. Its the really fucking cool. Mobile Suits Zaku, the 2 year war, all these unique battles and ships and Mobile Suits and the characters and story. Imagine being able to drive a Gundam or a Zaku in MW3 But I'm going to be honest. What I really want is a Battlefield Style game in the Gundam U.C. timeline with destruction and 64 players, and really tip notch visuals. Closest thing to that is Battle Operations 2.

I mean anyone who watches anime knows what gundam is especially since mfs were hitting anime poses in the Olympics

Because that's actually dumb and Nickelodeon wouldn't license a character out like that. Use your brain. Japan loves anime, and most of the west is coming around to it now. I used to loathe anime, but now I really like it after seeing more mature story's being told. Cowboy Bebop is fantastic, I reccomend that one if you don't like anime, it's what got me into anime. It's about Bounty Hunters just trying to scrape by in the future. It's like The Mandalorian without The Force or any other Star Wars bs.

Despite the haters I’m stoked for some crossovers of things I’ve actually seen before or was interested in prior like Gundam. Awesome that the classic suits are getting daylight would like to see Barbatos Lupus Rex but I’ll take the RX-78 anytime. And the Fallout crossover means we can have wastelanders and wanderers alike back in a battle royal since Bethesda gave up on 76’s version of it.

Its obscure to people like you guys. It aint obscure at all, biggest franchise in japan. So much so they built a 1:1 scale of tye RX-78-2 Gundam irl

I do think it’s strange they made the full 60 + ft robots into the operator skins, over making the main characters of the anime like Char or Amuro as the skins. But it’s awesome regardless.
