Rob is so great. He’s so chill and open to chat. I don’t think Leica could have made a better store. Top notch team.

I so agree! He’s so friendly and helpful. The NY store is so lucky to have him 😊
I was back in NYC for only a weekend. I needed to have my 28 Summicron-M sent out for repair. I noted that the Leica Soho store was closed. This was on Saturday 16 March. I looked online and found this 'new to me' store. I was fortunate to have Rob greet me and help me with my repair. I was double-barreled when I walked in. I was carrying my M10-R and SL2. The SL2 was new to me - two weeks and only three days of actual shooting. I had some questions that reading the manual may have answered but he was so patient in explaining the camera and how it would work best considering my previous shooting style with autofocus. He was so professional and friendly and you could sense his passion of photography. The place looks large but put a few photographers and the space becomes small. But it did not feel crowded but more like friends hanging out at a get together. I also got to meet Vincent (fellow double watch wearer) and Roland - brand ambassadors. Equally as awesome as Rob. I only bought a spare SL2 battery. I talked of camera straps. Never felt the pressure of buying there or even Leica. I toured the place - except for the VIP area and would love to go back and spend more time. All in all, as you state, a wonderful warm experience.

I’m so glad that you were able to experience firsthand what we talked about in the video. Rob and Vincent are awesome. We in LA will miss them! (They transferred from the LA store). If you remember Rob saying in the video, he’s looking to build a community, not to sell cameras. That’s definitely obvious in our every interaction with them. We are so excited for them! 😊
I am a Nikon, and Olympus shooter. I have my antennas up regarding Leica. I thoroughly enjoyed this video. Keep up the good work.

Beautiful Leica store! I think the words she was looking for is contemporary & maybe sterile for the LA Store & Industrial or Modern Industrial for the NY store. Great vid!

Hahaha definitely!! I was struggling for words 😅 The New York store looks more urban and industrial (which totally suits NY!) whereas the LA Store looks more sterile... thanks for tuning in! 😊

Very interesting. As always. Obviously a house of temptation, but worth it. If i was in New York, I would buy a shiny chrome M-A from them, and cosset it like a first born, raising it to the sky like in The Lion King.

Been there recently. Not much used gear available - maybe because its still quite new also indicated in the video. The second floor I liked best with bar and book collection. Took a photo of the Leica mouse on the shelf :).

Recently entered the Leica fray with a used Q-P and am loving it so far. Been Canon for years and they feel more like computers now with the mirrorless ones. Am loving the more tactile experience I am getting from the Leica.

I also switched from Canon! I shot events and weddings for 8 years and one day I sold my 5D2 & 5D3 bodies plus a bunch of lenses for my Leica gear. Never been happier 😊

Not sure how to feel about a store with $9000 cameras starting their video next to a homeless person laying next to their store. Have we really become so desensitized?
@NoctiGirl
2 ай бұрын
If you are talking about the boxes behind me, those were moving boxes from the store setting up and getting ready for the opening. But we all see what we want to see. Even if it was a homeless person there, I still don't feel bad about it. For years I've volunteered and donated to various homeless shelters and animal rescue organizations. I've served food to the homeless every Thanksgiving for over a decade. I can tell you that some people choose to be homeless. instagram.com/p/BqgtxS6g4XO/?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== instagram.com/p/BoXRBB4F_Lq/?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== The problem with our society is not that it's become desensitized to homeless people or the less fortunate; rather, it's that it has become so judgmental. People who can afford to buy Leicas can also be nice people who contribute to the society.
Too bad New York is a shite hole now.
