In this video we take a french regional train from Mulhouse in Alsace (France) to Basel in Switzerland. It stops at any intermediate station and is also run as TER (Train Express Régional). In France all regional trains, whether they stop at all stations or not, are called the same.
The route of this TER is a part of the 200 km/h fast Strasbourg - Basel railway, where the "TER 200" operates, too. Trains go, other than usual in France, on the right sided track there. Our TER has a maximum speed of 160 km/h, which it manages to reach on parts where the stops are further away from each other, despite wet tracks.
The train type is a Class Z 27500 of SNCF, an EMU built by Bombardier between 2005 and 2010. Even though you don´t expect it from the outside: the seating comfort of this train is better than any german regional train unit I´ve been on so far.
