I'm in love with Snapped Ankles these days.
For a new wave/post punk fan like me, they represent everything I love, from kraut influences (Can & Neu!), krafterkian electronics, groovy basslines, psychedelic guitar riffs and a singer who sounds almost like Mark. E Smith from The Fall. I had the pleasure to finally see them live earlier this september, they're plenty of fun to watch live on a stage.
Snapped Ankles bootlegs are hard to come by, the band is not very known "yet" but there's a buzz on them since they released their first LP back in 2017. Also, I guess they like to stay in the shadows. Just like the Residents, band members hides behind masks when performing onstage. There is also no known filmed interviews of the band.
This specific bootleg was recorded earlier this summer, when the band performed in Brno for the Pop Messe festival. The quality is good, I just did some EQ work here and there to make it sound a little bit better for youtube. They perform a nice setlist, almost the same they did when I saw them, with two (three ?) new songs (called "The Caganer" and "HaGen Im Garten" on their setlists sheets) and great sequencer-less performances of "Rhythm Is Our Business" and "Johnny Guitar".
As you can see, I did not recognize the sixth song, so if you got any clue, please feel free to comment the name !
