Snapmaker, will you please include a template in Luban to easily print that test on various materials? Also it would be really cool feature to add an option to be able to setup the color engraving with the preview and everything, and have the software adjust the laser settings to get the appropriate colors (understanding that the colors are limited and dependent on material, but it would still be super helpful for me and the many others that bought this upgrade to take advantage of this ability).

Use Lighburn software, Luban is so confusing with number of difrrent windows etc. I just was able to make some test cuts with Lightburn It has the test templates in the Tools menu.. Not with Luban.

Is there some library of materials with those test paterns across all modules? (1.6, 10, 20, 40W) If not it would be nice to have it for quick reference :)

Is there a pattern in Luban to print this, folks? I can foresee a huge number of uses for a 'portfolio' of samples next to the printer

In Luban, how can I set the interval lower than 0.05? There are numerous colors that require setting the interval as low as 0.01, and I cannot figure out how to create them. Is there a test template for Luban for this or did you use Lightburn? If you used Lightburn, is there Snapmaker-provided documentation on how to do it?

We have a snapmacker F350 and are moving into working with gold and silver. What size lazer would work for engraving or cutting silver and gold?

Neither. Diode lasers have the wrong wavelength for that, no matter how powerful they are. Once they release their infra red module, you could use that for engraving. It is way too weak for cutting though. Look into fiber lasers for engraving metal cleanly and fsst, especially such reflective ones.

I would also along with the others, like to see a test template in Luban, so we don't need to resort to Lightburn or other software..

Is this real, that you can laser different colors on stainless steel depending on the speed and power? 😳

Yes 100% authentic. It is a big selling point on many Amazon listings for desktop lasers. The Artisan and ray has the huge safety advantages of a safe enclosure you won’t see anywhere else for a comparable price.

@@thepeajey4271 that is the easiest material to consistently heat hot enough to a reliable effect. Very technical but if your a quick study you should definitely try it out. 👍
