@@gamerslife4me938 i have mi 10t pro and my device will be 2 year old this sept 26. It runs genshin at the highest settings at stable 55-57fps as long as you keep it cool (battery temp under 35C) based on my own benchmark. Only times it frame drops is when you are on the overworld and the terrain is being generated for a split second, and also when there are fackton superconduct reactions 😂. I think devices with atleast sd 865 can play genshin at max and stable as long as device is cool enough

@@firestorm7502 actually Samsung's 10nm, 8nm and 7nm nodes were good and on par with TSMC. But since 5nm TSMC pulled off with almost 36% greater transistor density. So Samsung rushed the 5LPP and 4LPP process using cheap components and connection threads and messed up. This is why the new chips generate so much heat cause the resistance between transistors are so high.

I saw screenshots of a phone getting "phone is overheating" while doing 3D Mark test. Snapdragon 888 struggled to hit peak performance without throttling and nothing could take advantage of it? Ever heard of Alien Isolation & Grid Autosport with custom Pc settings and frame rate cap, it even struggled to run Genshin impact, Samsung phones were literally dropping below 30 fps before Samsung throttled them. Idk what's your definition of disaster but for me snapdragon 888 easily fits in this category.

The sd888 is a strange chip. The GPU has two modes. A 6watt mode where it has great performance but it overheats like crazy and a 3watt mode where it has great heat efficiency but the performance is comparable to sd855......the CPU is pretty good in the sd888, the main X1 core is not good but the three A78 cores are pretty efficient and perform very well....overall sd888 is a pretty good chip, is just that compared to the amazing sd865 it falls short and that's kinda bad for a supposedly more modern flagship SoC.

@Matt Tech Yeah you're right. 6 months left, and then no more updates sadly from Xiaomi... I'll stick for original for a while and then I'll make it custom
It could be, even a slight physical difference, between the 2 phones? One maybe having a vapor chamber and the other not? Or something else that could improve /decrease performance due to temperature?
I was looking for a new phone for a while. My Xiaomi Mi Mix3 started to do weird things from time to time. I am not a hardcore gamer but I used to play Genshin sometimes. I always liked the idea of a flagship soc because I can't stand slow hardware. Also the more expensive phones used to get better software and therefore a longer lifespan over all imo. Long story short... I am very frustrated with current generation chips. I want a small phone because I have tiny hands but apart from the Zenfone 8, S22 and the Mi12 there isn't anything in the android world. Sadly though small phones are kind of problematic in terms of battery size. The S22 has the perfect form factor but the Exynos I would be getting here is just pain. The standby battery drain and overall efficiency problem can't be resolved with updates as it seems. The Zenfone 8 has the old SD888 and manages to suck even more despite having a bigger battery. And they used to have another hardware problem which I can't stand. The Mi12 looks to be the best out of the three but I don't like the curved screen and it does not stand out in any meaningful way either. If I don't need the performance the old chip in the Mi12x would be better in terms of battery. Isn't that crazy. Buying a new phone with years old chip because there isn't anything usable on the market. I have very very high hopes for the Zenfone 9 because it's still small and seems to be using the SD 8+ Gen1. Please be a good phone.... I beg you.
