Snake Sabo Unveils The Snake Baretta Signature Kramer
Ойын-сауық
Skid Row guitarist Snake Sabo stopped by the set of Gibson TV to chat with Cesar Gueikian to discuss his upcoming Snake Baretta Signature Kramer guitar.
Of his collaboration on the Snake Baretta model, Snake states "The attention to detail and adherence to the legacy is profound. I’ve never had a signature guitar, so to say I’m humbled would be an understatement. When I put the Snake guitar away 25 years ago, I never thought it would be resurrected, much less through a Kramer (Gibson) partnership! I’m so proud and grateful to be a part of this and the history this represents."

@@1970borntorun The SM-1 is the current interpretation of the late 80's archtop Stagemasters. Essentially, an ESP. The SM-1 I played was pretty much a carbon copy. The SM-1 also retails for about $400 less I paid for my Stagemaster in the late 80's. Accounting for inflation, the SM-1 is a bargain at ~$1000.

What a great guy to interview. Very down to earth. Kinda reminds me of Jim Breuer. Glad I got to see them back in 91 with Pantera.
So cool to see Kramer coming back into the spotlight again. Hopefully Gibson continues to put money into the brand.
Snake is so underrated! First Tracii, now Snake!! I’d like to nominate Tom Keifer next!!

You damn right. I am from the tri-state area of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware (New York too).If they made a Tom Keifer model Les Paul I would buy it (depending on what they decided to price it... I'm not going to spend $12,000 on one guitar). I really think Tom Keifer deserves one though. I remember seeing them dudes play clubs before they were well-known.

I have always been a big fan of dual guitar bands, and the idea stems right back to my exposure to Skid Row as one of the first seriously bitchin Rock bands I ever heard. Them and GnR...ruled my walkman! Anyway, what I learnt from them is.. a dual guitar bands, ultimately shouldn't be a one lead guitar god, and one rhythm guitarist playing support never switching their roles! It should be two Rockin guitar players of similar skill level, but different style. The competition brings the best out of each other, and the combined music is always greater than any could have produced on their own. The whole being greater than the sum of its parts, kinda thing. Skid Row were a Master class in this. All other bands should take notes! How they kept that balance for 30+yrs without an epic Ego explosion is beyond me. But that's how you do it : whatever they did, that's how it's done!

Thank you Dave and Skid Row for such awesome music and memories and thank you Kramer for offering such a cool guitar to the fans. You guys Rock!!
Yeahhhhh...So Im gonna need you to go ahead and come in on Saturday....and Sunday...and get these things built asap. I NEED ONE!
I was like 16 when “I remember you” was on the radio and I really tried to hate 80’s metal but so much of it was really great and Snake, you were someone I really wanted to listen to. Your guitar playing kicked ass and inspired me to play. Thanks for your music and motivating me! Congratulations on your signature Kramer!

Which of course, doesn’t change that Snake and many others inspired me to play. And I appreciate it.
I love him cos he's humble. And he's humble cos he was always underappreciated. Overshadowed by the likes of Slash & Kirk Hammet... and even closer to home, Scotti Hill himself...they served to let the collective music audience forget just how fantastic an Axe-wielder this guy was/is. I never forgot! I was a diehard skid row & slave to the grind fan! And up to..20 something years later, just in this last month, I finally got around to learning the 2 biggest solos, I shoulda learnt as a kid. They, of course, are 18 & Life, and I Remember You. Not particularly difficult..thank God for the internet - I went my whole headbanging adolescence not knowing how to shred their 2 big power ballad solos! Thank God for Utube. And thank God for Dave "the Snake" Sabo!

His gratitude alone makes me want one, let alone ALL the usaully reasons for purchasing any signature guitar...
I remember when they worked at the music store in Toms River, NJ. It was called Garden State Music. Scott & Dave sold me my first real drum set. A set of Pearl MX Customs with Maple Shells, in black. They were the coolest guys even back then and I enjoyed hanging out in the store just listening to them play and tell stories and joke around. The custom guitars they had in the store were called Custom Dreams, my guitar player had one very similar to this model, with a single humbucker, the reversed neck and the finish was in different shades of purple. HAAAAAAAA!! Good times!!
That guitar sounds incredible.

I saw him at a guitar clinic in Mexico around 98 what a great player!!
Damn, just when I was thinking there wasn't another Kramer that I just had to have!!! Oh well, I can always fall back on my mantra, "There's NO SUCH THING as too many guitars! LOL
Finally , Ive heard of this Gibson TV Artist =)
I owned several Kramer guitars back in the 80's and one thing that I can say is they were phenomenal with their customer service. If I ever needed anything their techs were always available and fantastic. 👍🤘
Really great humble guy. Loved is and Scottys playing on the first couple of skids albums, really had their own guitar sound and tone.
Zakk Wylde said in his book that he used to go in the guitar shop and hangout like a wall flower. He looked up to Snake and the other guys, and Snake would hook him up with strings. So before any of these dudes were on anybodie's wall, they were hanging out in a guitar store in New Jersey. SkidRow and Ozzy's future guitar assault masters. I guess the next time I pop in my local guitar shop for strings I'm going to pay a little more attention to the kid ripping solo's in the corner.

Sab is such a humble guy! It’s great to see guys like him who are musically successful but don’t give themselves any credit because they understand that it’s their fans and supporters who give them success. I’ve seen guys much more musically gifted who never get any notoriety!
Snake has one of the most underrated guitar tones in history!!
SNAKE and Kramer is a perfect match... so glad to see this!
I loved my Kramers back in the 80’s. That’s all I used back then. Then I moved to Ibanez after Kramer went out of business. I just bought this Snake Sabo Beretta and I am absolutely mind-blown at the quality, especially at this price point. The fret job is absolutely 110% spectacular and the factory setup is freaking awesome. Out of the box the action was slammed, the guitar was perfectly tuned and the EVH D-Tuna was even setup and ready to drop D! I’ve only bought one guitar that even comes close to the out-of-box quality of my Snake Sabo and that was my $3K Ibanez JS2480! Folks Kramer NAILED IT with this guitar! It’s freaking ultra-Fabulous!!!!
He’s the man! Love Skid Row
What a genuine guy!
It was myself and Paul Unkert at the store doing Custom Dreams Guitars and Dennis was painting those. After that the year before I was at Kramer is when that signature guitar came out.
Awesome to see Snake still rocking. Now I'd love to see more USA made Kramers.... the hand painted ones from this year seem to be all snatched up. Even basic paint job USA models would be cool :)
Awesome interview! 🤘

So glad I finally got my hands on one of these, only waited since 1989, but it's all worth it, it's such a slamming axe!

Loved it!
Snake and Scotti are the most underrated duo in rock n roll! Inspired me before Dimebag hit the scene and changed everything!
Nice GTR Snake. The only little Guitar shop left around here is Hi-Way Music. Remember Chasions on 35, Lou and Rose on 27 and Red Bank Music was the big one also Freehold Music but they never had too many guitars. My buddy worked at Kramer. And there weren’t too many guitars too pick from back in the 70s probably before yer time I remember going to 48th was like Disneyland for a young Guitar guy that’s where a lefty had to go to find a left handed GTR. Times have sure changed we have Guitar Center on 18 and Sam Ash on 27 now it’s hard to choose which guitar to get. I have about 20 guitars and basses that’s probably peanuts for you but I never thought that possible all them years ago. I actually bought my son a Gibson Les Paul I had to beg, borrow and steal for my Guild JS 2 and I was very proud of that.
This and Sambora's.... Love 'em!!
Really enjoyed this video and listening to some great history! Snake is a cool dude and professional! 🤘🎸👍
Great interview. Sabo always been a class act.
Snake and Scotti, one of the best guitar duos ever!
Congrats Snake !!
Wow Dave seems like a very humble guy. God bless him. Despite all the drama, his band was definitely one of the best in that period of time. Such a huge Rock band Skid Row became, and a Jersey boy nonetheless.
I've always loved this guitar, I may look into getting 1 ! Depends on how much theyll be
That's my guitar on stage far right (our left)...the Pelham Blue SG Special... only mine now has a Lollar minihumbucker in the bridge now. It's an effin' machine! And it's the least of the Giants on that stage! (She's on my lap right now, I just love her! I'm jonesing for that Sabo superstrat, tho - tell ya what!)
Adooooro Rachel...Snake e Scotti
I want that guitar, I have a pretty big collection of 80's signature guitars. Never thought I'd see this one, it's a must have for sure. Both guitarists in Skidrow are great players.

What a cool guy and amazing player!
Great to see him get a Sig gtr. He's a monster player and a great guy. I met him briefly at Heartbreakers, ( go go bar in Asbury Park) in late 80s or early 90s. He was with Traci Guns I think. It was just after a wedding of someone in the band. He was a super nice guy. That's all I remember. I was there for hours before he showed up and I was severely pickled by then. Still I remember he was just a nice, down to earth guy. I told him how much I liked his playin and music n he seemed real appreciative. No ego whatsoever. Great guy. Congrats Dave. I might have to get me one of those axes. Gibson is definitely getting some respect back these days. Least from me they are.
Kramer needed this. They're learning from charvell.
Awesome, I had 2 kramers in the mid 80's. I had bought them in Ridgewood NJ, but I traded them both in for a les paul custom. I definitely interested in getting another.
Dam Dave got old ..I used to see him at garden state music center all the time in Tom's River took lessons for awhile from him ...good guy
Would have liked a sound demo, but it is only a prototype. Strange that it took so long for such a great musician to get his own signature guitar. Rock on!
I had a couple Kline Barettas / Kramer's, but nothing this cool. Love how this one has the reverse headstock which is too cool man!
I remember that guitar back in the day, man I really wanted it, still do! It would go great with my Kramer Nightswan Aztec! Need a price on this bad boy!

awesome snake sabo nice axe congratulations!!!!!!!!
Way Cool!
One of the best paint right now. I kinda want this guitar
Long live the 80's when no guitar graphic was too much. Air brush artists were in heaven. You would tell 'em "I want a pink dragon raining hellfire down upon a cemetery of the walking dead with a Marshall stack as the tombstones" and they would reply "cool, see me in three weeks." On another note, nice to see Kramer relevant again. So many 80's axe slingers rocked those Barettas. It's an iconic model that deserves this. So does Snake.
I just LOVE Kramer guitars .... I bought a limited edition vintage white 2018 Baretta and it's amazing ... great prices ... $699 new! Shocking!
