Snake Legs - Vernacular Jazz Vocabulary for Lindy Hop and Swing Dance
Support my channel by going to / lauraglaess
Snake Legs is a super fun and flexible flash move that I love using in my solo jazz - side note, I'm not actually sure if this is the name, but after months of searching, this is the only name I found. It's great for jellyfish and other creatures with no bones. After you get the knack for it, it's a nice, low energy way to add some flair to a dance. Hope this video is helpful, and, above all, have some fun!

Stay happy young lady. This world needs you. You are AWESOME.
THANK YOU!!! Omg I swear I've been looking for this everywhere
such good tips! I struggled teaching this to my students last year because it does feel so awkward until you get the momentum going. Thank you!

Lol! I agree. I needed to practice. Still need to.
Hi Laura, We’re having a cold front here in Spain as well, about the same temperature as over there :/ Anyway, that dance looks great, so do your extra cool glasses. Maybe I’ll try something new and see if I can learn the dance. Keep up the great work!

It's too hot everywhere! Stay hydrated and dance!
Where do you get your shoes? Asking for a friend 😂❤
Holy cow you are awesome! Looks so easy when you do it! Now I really want to learn swing dance. Also, you have great legs! Did you get your defined muscles from swing dancing??

I probably have more defined muscles from dancing, but I kinda just come from a big-leg family.
I was expecting this video!! Thanksss so much! What kind of clothing do you use underneath your dresses and skirts?

Underdress things are such a journey! I've found that I like bloomers from dance / cheerleader stores best. They are used to people being super active and needing coverage

@@LauraGlaess keep up the good work and enjoy! 🙂
Possibly a continuation of "snake hips" but changed to be more leg focused to work better with faster swing music? I know Frankie Manning talked about using the move "snake hips" (and credits Earl "Snake hips" Tucker? kzread.info/dash/bejne/Y3anusmRhayfktI.html for inventing it or at least being among the best at it).
One of my favourite moves. I've always heard it was snake legs too. One of my favourite variations/performances of it is from this clip kzread.info/dash/bejne/Y56oqLCkhKzSlqg.html
