Snak The Ripper - Ashes (Official Music Video)

Музыка

I wrote this song for my Dad after he passed away in 2017. He told us he didn't want a funeral and that made ''finding closure'' difficult for most of his family, including myself. I honestly think he thought a funeral would be a burden on us. He was a very selfless man. And I guess that's why I wrote these lyrics. Because I needed to get it all out. And he deserved to be celebrated...
Over the years I've received thousands of messages about this song and how it's helped people through hard times. The realization that I'm not the only person going through this shit is whats helped me the most, so thank you all for sharing your stories.
This is not a music video to me. This is my final goodbye to the man that created me.
I love you Dad. Happy Fathers Day..

God bless Scott. Honestly this man just shared one of the most precious moments in his life, sharing that moment when he spread his dad over those mountains tops I don’t think people understand the magnitude of this gesture. I am still holding onto my big brother for the last 10 years because I cannot fathom to let him go. Your a real one for sharing this with us Scott. And I think we can all thank Mr. Fyvie for the gift he gave us. I know the rip machine has saved countless struggling people in this world, me being one of them. Respect and much love to you ripper.

Make the most of everyday, lost my old man 2 years ago, he was my best friend. While I have no regrets of time I spent with them, I think everyone wishes they could spend even a few more minutes with them if they could. Thank your old man for raising such a good son, I can tell he means a lot to you if you felt emotional. EDIT: Can remember listening to this song before and after my old man died, while I was more sad listening to it after than before given circumstances, the emotion and impact is the exact same. I got fearful/sad in the idea of losing him before it even happened.

I love my dad and this rap made it more of a realization now , because im glad he is here today , I wouldn't be here without him and my fam, we are from British Columbia and was raised on Haida Gwaii by ONE man in our lives so I appreciate what my Father does everyday, so stay close to family everyone in these times. We are stronger together, good luck and be safe.

I can so relate to this song. As I also lost my dad in 2017, to a combo of Alzheimer's & Pneumonia. 8 months after losing my mom to cancer. A day after my sister's birthday at that. It never gets easy to deal with the loss of someone you looked up to your entire life. To see them go from the strong rock of a man you knew, to the frail shell of a man he was at the very end. Thank you Snak for this. I right there with you fam. May your dad continue to Rest ABOVE the clouds, in everlasting peace.

This song always hits close, lost my dad a few years before it originally dropped and before I was even done with school, so you manage to bring me to tears everytime I listen as I dealt with some of those if not all of the same feelings, but I can not help but listen to this song every so often to reminisce and to enjoy the amazing work that went in to it all. Can't imagine how hard it must have been to record the music or the video, but big ups being able to release it on father's day on top of it all.

I've heard this song countless times and to this day it makes me tear up every time. My father is still alive, but he decided to abandon my family a number of years ago. He was not a great man by any means, but he's the only father I have and the thought of completely losing him makes me completely break down.

Musical embodiment of the deepest kind of sadness possible for a human being to feel. I remember back in Montreal during a show where you were asking for which song the public wanted, I asked for Ashes and you gave me a profound surprised look and then you performed. We had a talk outside before the show but I didn't tell you that my role model, my grandfather, had just passed away a couple days ago. Respect to you brother. From another kid who lived on Rivard street near Mont-Royal back then. ✌ Force et honneur frère ✊

This song gives me so much understanding and strength to carry on with the knowledge that life is a blessing. In my father’s 14 years with dementia Alzheimer’s and terminal cancer his in home hospice was the hardest and stressful thing I’ve ever done but I never expressed it to my father. I made sure he was comfortable and the conversation never stopped. Your song gives me the ability to cry and I for some reason can’t cry from suppressing my emotions for so long. I’m so incredibly sorry for your loss and the battle your father and family went through. It was wild that people have said I would break my back to help someone and I literally fractured my spine lifting my father and carried on like it never happened because my father needed my help more than anything. Four months after he passed I started weight loss and dropped 120lbs in twelve months up holding to a promise I made to my father a month before he passed. You are an amazing artist and you talk from the heart regardless if it’s talking shit or speaking the truth. Much love

@@premediesel thank you very much. I respect my father for his ability to get a room laughing and his personality changed so much over the years but his sense of humor made everything easier. I found every opportunity to get my father to laugh and it was mind blowing how I learned so much about stepping up when others were running. I greatly miss my father and his smartass jokes that could cut straight through a fucked up day.

I don't know how many times I've cried to this song thinking about my grandma especially and losses in general. I am still trying to get momentum to get out of the valley. If I make it, you and your music sure deserve not just a little bit of credit! Makes me happy and gives me hope to see you, your wife and children doing good! Thank you!
