Man, that first turn just says it all when it comes to this boss, doesn't it? Before you even get control of your characters, one's dead and another is charmed, with both surviving members at ~50% health.

It's funny how hitoshura uses the same tactics SMT 3 player does: Hitoshura does the attacking while the demons debuff and harass...

I mean, it's usually worth it to carry a couple of support skills on Demi-Fiend as well. You really don't need THAT many group target physical attacks.

I love this fight because I can only imagine the Demifiend getting more and more annoyed at how shitty this fight is. "THEY CAN USE ITEMS? ALL OF THEM? Goddamn, okay, we're doing this I guess."

did anyone else notice that they're fighting in the amala network? or is it just me? I never noticed until I looked closely at the background. haha.

For the 3 members of the party, it was the worst enemy they could have found, the ultimate test of their lives with an insurmountable odd of success. But for the demi-fiend, it was random encounter number 5 inside the Labyrinth of Amala.

Gea Force He summoned the super Pixie from Nocturne. If you brought your old Pixie or a descendant of it from the beginning of the game to a room in the Labyrinth of Amala, you could turn it into an absolute beast of a demon with spells like Samarecarm and Megidolaon.

lmfao the demifiend just decks you in the face and knocks 50% of your HP down. I also love how the music they chose for this is the Normal Battle song from Nocturne

I think the reason it's the nocturne battle theme is because Demi-Fiend just sees the Player as a random encounter or something.

Can you imagine if you entered this fight and he had an optimal 4 person party with shiva, vishnu, beelzebub (fly), and they all had pierce, focus, and debilitate, and mediarahan/prayer, etc. and hito-shura's abilities were fully optimized? To think this was a very mere fraction of his power. and to think he had the ability in the first place to have a lot of DDS2's mini-bosses in his party... i feel like it'd take the absolute best planning imaginable and a straight-up miracle to even think of beating something like that.

This is the hardest random encounter the Demi Fiend has faced.

If Dante never used (Majin) Devil Trigger or Sparda hax against Hito Shura, and Hito Shura didn't go all out against the DDS1 party... then the Nocturne version of Dante must be pretty fucking powerful.

You can get super Pixie at any level, you just need to make it to the fifth kalpa. I believe I was in the mid 60's when I got her. Then again, you'd have to catch up to her before fusing any new skills onto her via mitama, and she had Dekunda.

I can guess the effect being something like "Unconditional instant kill to one character, cannot be used in any battle ever again, loading the game will not revive them, New Game + does not revive either, using a different save file, memory card, disc, or system will not bring them back, and you lose a year off your lifespan." I think I'm not being cruel enough, personally. Suggestions?

Dimensional Nemesis feels like hes using weak(er) demons too If this is the true demon ending, he couldve used metatron, the fiends (daisoujo) or even lucifer if he beats him canonically

MAANNN!!! I feel for you , like they had SSOOO many turns.Just watching it got me feeling stress out.

I've beaten him twice and now working on a third time. I beat him years ago. But my friend that introduced me to the game didn't believe me so he had me beat him for his record. and that was the 2nd time I beat him. He is very tough.

I always found it odd that the Demi-Fiend actually has "Xelos-Beat" in DDS, but "Javelin Rain" is the move that gets the former move's original animation from Nocturne... Started playing this game as well this week (After just finishing Nocturne), about to tackle the final dungeon, planning on doing a second playthrough for this battle as well, so it's nice having a referrence like your videos... Anyway, great job! You truly are the Master! :D

I never got to face this boss since I only stuck to the main story. Damn is this guy tough. Love the music :)

I want to imagine that he just came upon the player unprepared for a real battle.

Serph isn't a real battle against demi fiend at all. In fact not even seraph is.

Even when watching a video of someone else playing an SMT game, whenever I see an enemy casting any of the Mudo spells, my heart stops for just a second :P

Judging by the comments so far,a lot of people agree with me when I say that possibly the scariest part of the battle is that the Normal Battle theme is playing,which means Demi-Fiend sees your fully buffed up max level party as nothing but an annoying random encounter and free EXP for him...

I like how when the fight begins, the music is the random encounter music from Nocturne. i.e. THAT'S HOW MUCH HITO-SHURA LOOKS DOWN ON YOU.

Holy crap, this game...how did I miss it?! Also, that opening round was rough as hell. 2 crits, 2 stuns, a charm and a mamudoon death. Yikes. Great vids though!

Lucifer's general is surly very busy.

You know something made abundantly clear at the en of this part of the fight? That regardless of ANY preparations you make, you still need to have a heavy dose of luck throughout the whole battle to win. If Pixie or the Demi-Fiend hd chose to attack on that last turn, youd have lost. No question.

I knew things were going to be troublesome the moment I saw those 3 guys at the start.

Interesting that you didn't use Cielo. He was very valuable when I played this battle. Enjoy the ring you get in DDS2.

When you first the random battle theme playing, words will not define how screwed you are at that very moment...

The one time I managed to beat him, the fight lasted like an hour and forty-five minutes. O_o I love how it uses one of the battle themes from Nocturne. It's like we're nothing more than a random battle to him. Badassssss!

I remember that happening to me at least five times. Another time, an Archangel I outleveled by an assload set me back an hour with one lucky Hama. He had his Bad to the Bone shades on after that, I'm sure.

Nocturne's normal battle music is so badass that they didn't need to give a different boss music for Hito-Shura. To him, these three heroes are just another random encounter.

Interesting that your DemiFiend from SMT3, and bonus boss DemiFiend in this video, don't share any moves whatsoever. You focused Deadly Fury and Magma Axis, whereas this DemiFiend spams Javelin Rain, Xeros-Beat, and the infamous Gaea Rage Edit: OK never mind, I think you used Heat Wave at some point in SMT3

I think it's probably the reaction of coolness and nostalgia that sets you off first... before you realize that he goes first. XD

Considering the game in question, once you even get to Masakado, it would have largely become redundant due its overpowering nature and your already jacked stats.

Woah, that last minute.

And that's not all. This is only a hologram with only a fraction of Hitoshura's Actual power. Oh dear god....

Where was it stated that the TDE is the canon ending? Because while it makes sense that is the case because of what happened with Aleph, it would also mean that every other game that existed in the Megaten franchise never existed. In addition, we have the upcoming SMT 4 which, if it is indeed the sequel to Nocturne, then the Demi-Fiend has at least chosen one of the endings, but not necessarily the True Demon one.

I Think after getting a game over,the Demi-Fiend must be pretty pissed...lol

Glad to see another non-red star. Hard as hell, but nice for bragging rights, XD. I got sick of having to keep up with the kaja's and kundas, though. If he got ahead of you on those, you were pretty much done for. also, to Dexless, Thor was the last boss I had trouble with in that game, for some reason. Skadi almost got me, because I didn't expect her to repel physical.

God - just watching this reminds me of the hatred I had for this battle.

@TraumaTeam4ever I thought about that, actually. He should be one in P5, IMO. And have Elizabeth as a backup character. And the intro would be "It seems these few want to challenge you after all...I can only keep you unsealed for the duration of this fight." Then a silent grunt comes from him as he steps up, looks at them, smiles, and opens his hand, showing an enormous amount of power floating in a small ball. Then he opens his mouth and all you hear is, "Lets Begin..."

If this is just the random enemy music, the boss must've been TRULY badass! Killing yourself to revive a fallen party member. Never seen THAT before...

Greatest and hardest MegaTen fight ever, you are absolutely great. I'm finished with Nocturne about a week ago, and I'm don't know if I play DDS right now or wait for Strange Journey to "keep with the main series". Whatahell? Am I the only one that notice that the battle animation for Javelin Rain and Xeros-Beat have been exchanged? Translation mistake, maybe? LOL

I came here from Hitoshura's Revenge so, I wanted to see how the fight originally played out. Also, I didn't realize he spun before kicking when using Xeros-Beat. That's much funnier than it should be!

Well, now I see why this was voted the hardest RPG boss in a list.

Mostly likely by Demi-Fiend's hands. Even though Aleph (who is most likely Jyoji) won the battle, he eventually lost the war and YHVH gave him the Ultimate Punishment. Whereas in Strange Journey which should take place after Nocturne, he is split into pieces (Metatron, Yaldabaoth, and etc) meaning that the True Demon Ending is Canon. It also means that Demi-Fiend is the most successful protagonist in the Mainline series so far. Too bad, Marine MC basically undoes his work.

@stargaz3rrr He's using Masakados. I forget if that's what gives him the extra press turn as well, but it's why he voids all except Almighty and Earth (cause Earth wasn't around back in Nocturne).

It's more of a case of "if you don't have it, good luck doing nothing but chip damage". Note that even WITH 99 in those stats, Hito-shura is still going to be doing damage in the 200s non-crit and he has a VERY HIGH critical hit rate and he has 2 turns to himself. Having lower stats is the difference between a strong blow and a crippling blow. Without red star, his demons combined WILL make mincemeat of your team. (his demons use Megidolaon)

@asanine92 actually no, if you think about it, the junkyard only exists because the world was destroyed, meaning hitoshura still exists beccause the world could only be destroyed by doing the TDE in SMT3

***** I have a question, Ok, so... --> I beat the game DDS1 once and defeated extra bosses. --> I started the 2nd cycle and Defeated the extra Bosses (Including the Demi-Fiend) -->If I start a 3rd Cycle in DDS1, (So I can make the right Dialogue choices to get Heat in DDS2 and get seraph lore for argilla.) Will I have to defeat the Demi-Fiend Again in my 3rd Cycle to get the Item for transferring into DDS2 or Can I just pass DDS1 without defeating all the bosses all over again. in the 3rd cycle? (I just forgot if I made the right dialogue choices and don't want to run through DDS2 in vain.)

This battle is longer than some game playthroughs.

Because for SMT 1 and 2 the Neutral ending is the canon ending. 3 seems to follow this by actually having allot more to say/show than the reasons. Also the fact that the True Demon Ending was NOT in the original release for SMT Nocturne in Japan. It was added in later in the Maniax version which is the version America got.

His demons are actually a clue to it, since they are by no means endgame. He has access to a lot of good spells but the Hito-Shura that they would have faced at full power would be controlling fiends.
