Fun fact: The cellists were just two guys who posted a video online of them doing this performance of smooth criminal and it immediately went viral so they were invited to be on this episode. They are now really big performers that tour around the world. I have been wanting to see them for years… they are 2Cellos.

I’m late to the party but I got to see them a year or so ago for my birthday and I can totally say, wonderful present! They are such amazing performers it’s a thrilling experience and as a cellist it was so cool to see the amazing things they can do with such a cool instrument, highly recommend!

2CELLOS signed with Sony in 2011, released an album, went on tour with Elton John, performed on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, performed at the iTunes Music Festival and on numerous other shows all before showing up on Glee. They were classically trained artists posting videos of their art on KZread. They definitely weren't just "two guys" at that point. Yes, their cover of Smooth Criminal is what launched them into stardom, but they had quite the history.

Santana Lopez is easily one of the best characters ever written, and Naya Rivera brought magic to the character. RIP BBYGIRL ♥️♥️♥️

Fun fact: Grant and Naya were not told what to do. They got this setup with the chairs and the cello guys, but they didn’t have explicit instructions on what to do. This whole scene was improvised and the chemistry between the characters was made by the actors themselves ^^

This is my absolute FAVORITE Glee cover the show ever did, mostly because they made the choice to make their version very different from the original. The song comes out of nowhere and feels weird in the scene, but at least it’s not just an Acapella version of the song, the cellos give it such a cool, unique twist.

Santana has chemistry with just about everyone. She has that type of energy.

I just loved it when Hannah excitedly said 'He is in the flash' when Grant Gustin is DA FLASH. And hands down Santana nailed it, completely wiped the floor with Sebestian.

I adore so much about this video and you're right, so much "enemies to lovers" in this scene. This cover, this scene, is literally the reason I started watching Glee. I heard the song on Pandora and was like "Its Grant/the Flash!" And had to know more about this scene. Both of them are beautiful, vocally she wins. But Grant's acting in this scene gets me every time! She exudes this calm confidence in her character. She's good - she's better. And she knows it. His character's confidence is out of necessity and as she proves she's better, you can see the insecurity of trying to mimick/match/keep up with her in Grant's face, especially when he follows her moving around the chairs. The difference in her *being* confident and him *acting* confident gives me life!

1 gay guy + 1 gay girl = 1 closeted straight relationship. The math adds up. You know that so much gay sexual tension and energy is just bound to overflow into a regretful night in no-man's land...

If we're being honest, I don't know that he got to show off his voice to its full potential on Glee either. Grant is astoundingly talented (acting, vocally, and dance). This is one of the few non-cringey performances in the show that I still love. Their chemistry is better than any other duo on the show, romantic or not. And definitely Santana won that vocal battle but the two of them together made that song incredible - her belts combined with the speed and harmony he gave his parts just *chef's kiss!* (I'm convinced this played a huge part in the decision to cast him as The Flash 😉)

Hannah, when are you going to realize that you have to have a whole series where you react to everything Naya did on Glee (and everything Amber Riley aka Mercedes did ofc bc they were the two most under-appreciated/utilized on the show)

This has got to be in my top 5 Glee performances. I listened to this cover on repeat for days. An incredible tribute to the legendary MJ. God bless Naya’s soul. She was extraordinary. And this outfit was a look!

The cellists are the 2Cellos. They're brilliant dueling cellists. Adding Naya and Grant in there was an added bonus to what they did with the song.

That belt is why I love this cover.

This was one of the main covers that got me into watching glee. The chemistry these two had together was stronger than some couples. Here’s the context: Grant/Sebastian threw a slushy at Kurt in glee, to which Blaine protected him and took the slushy. The slushy had rock salt in it which scratched Blaine’s eye and now everyone’s basically super upset about it. Also, S3 warblers are nothing like the warblers we know and love in S2.

I absolutely loved this scene in Glee as well! They did amazing on it, and the cellos were really good too!! :D

This is my favorite duet in glee ever!!! Also they’re both gay, which makes this the scene with the most sexual tension with 2 gay characters and I was obsessed with this cover since forever!!! Rip Naya ❤️

The guys playing the cello's also have a pretty popular KZread channel called 2CELLOS. They were doing especially well around the time Glee was filmed/aired, so that's why they were invited to play in this scene :)

I love 2Cellos

I haven't seen all Glee episodes, but this is my favorite song. I love their energy, voices, and all of it.

They sing so well together

i’m not sure if you’ve reacted to this one yet, but another insane one vocally is the Dream On glee version by Matthew Morrison and Neil Patrick Harris. That one is just 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

This and River Deep Mountain High are my favorite duets from Glee.

Absolutely love this song!!!! You should also listen to the full audio cause they did the full song and it’s just so good

I love Grant so so much. As a person, actor, singer, etc. I'm so happy for him and his family that has just expanded. I love that he's married to a Malaysian and is in support of all his cast members. I love all the work he's put into himself mentally, emotionally and physically. I'm so proud of all the progress he's made. What a lovely human. And Naya was a lovely human as well. What a beautiful soul that was taken from this earth too soon.

Best duet in all of Glee hands down! And the cellists are 2CELLOS known for being very intense lol

You should listen to Thriller/Heads Will Roll. Naya is one of the leads on the song along with Kevin McHale and it's an amazing song vocal wise for Santana, also Valerie

I litterly love this song!!!

PLEASE do Santana singing “Mine” or “Nutbush City Limits” I just finished Glee and now I just watch ur reactions lol but I love these two songs. OOO or Rachel singing “Make You Feel My Love”.

The context is that Sebastian went to slushie Kurt during "Bad" but Blaine jumped in the way and got slushied (Sebastian has a crush on Blaine and hates Kurt). Inside the slushie was rock-salt and Blaine had to get surgery for it. Santana goes to Dalton to figure out what was inside the slushie and records the conversation in order to get the Warblers kicked out of the competition. However they dont go through with it because they want to win against the Warblers and dont wanna punish all of them to get to Sebastian.

HANDS DOWN my fav thing glee has ever ever done. Period. No contest. It’s the only one I listen to regularly and not like when I’m on a “glee kick”. It’s just amazing. Naya was such a gift while she was with us.
