Smoking Craftsman Lawn Tractor Diagnostic and Repair

I picked up this Craftsman YT3000 lawn tractor with an undiagnosed engine problem. It has the Briggs and Stratton 21hp Intek, model #331877. I used my tools to diagnose the issue as a blown head gasket and then repair it. #craftsman #ridingmower #lawntractor #briggsandstratton #smallengine #smallenginerepair

It helps to raise the front end to keep oil from leaking and it’s easier to see and work on also Just a tip for you

The shield clips on a rib up under the shroud, not on the outer lip.

Nice work! A man after my own heart. In the garage. Shorts and flip flops. Totally my style. I work mostly on stuff for friends and neighbors and end up charging for little more than parts most of the time. Keep up the good work. New subscriber here!

Yea, don't tell OSHA lol. Jobs like these, I definitely am going for comfort. However, anytime I am cutting, welding, pulling an engine, etc. I definitely have my pants and boots on! Also, that's how I am to! friends and family just pay for parts and materials used, and I make the money up on equipment that I flip. This is just a hobby that I make a little money on but use it as educational resources.

@@LandonsSmallEngines cool deal! Very similar to what I do. I have worked for the federal government for 22 years. When I am done sitting at my desk all day, I head straight to the garage! Flipping and fixing is a fun little hobby for me. Love to make them go again!

That power ratchet is awesome. Is it up to the job for heat cycled fasteners like exhaust bolts?

It is an amazing tool! It works just like a regular ratchet does, then, once you free the bolt, you can just buzz it out!

Very helpful repair video. Are you up for a collaboration? Hipa supplies parts for small engines and maybe we would work together to help more people in the community.
