Oh my god i was so caught up in a moment i didn't even think about it, ha ha.

Boa Hancock's view on relationships is a brilliant piece of character writing from Oda. She has the same view that a child would have, which makes sense with her upbringing and trauma. She comes from Amazon Lily where the Kuja, as we saw in the arc, have virtually no knowledge of men or relationships. Then she was abducted and sold into slavery with her sisters at age 12, eliminating any chance for healthy development and her trauma (and slave brand) caused her to isolate herself from everyone even after she was freed. Luffy's kindness and genuine nature broke through her trauma and let her start feeling again, but she still has the perspective of a 12 year old, despite being 29. Again, brilliant writing.

Jimbei and Moria talking to eachother is literally a voice actor monologue, its crazy to think they are voiced by the same mf

Just to let you know, it has not been confirmed what happened to the Boa sisters during their time as slaves. They could have been s.. slaves but Oda decided not to clarify it. @@BigBass63spoilers, usually I think Oda would have gave a slight hint at that without just blatantly saying it such as with Violet and doflamingo, that was implied, but Oda just couldn’t say that. For the boa sisters, I feel better in say that they were just use for entertainment with devil fruits they were given just to see what would happen instead of well… that. Same thing with Ginny which is more so stated what happened to her more obvious considering how she had Bonney.

​@@chaos4654Nightmare luffy is arguably equal to gear 4 luffy in terms of pure power. So shadows asgard with 1000 souls should be 10x stronger than gear 4 luffy. If moria instead of being a lazy bum, trained himself and had advanced armament and observation haki, he'd arguably be almost equal to kaido i think. The reason being i dont think moria ever collected 1000 shadows when he fought kaido so he should maybe have around 10-50 shadows while fighting kaido depending on his crew strength.

If Luffy could use Haki Mihawk would still wipe the floor with him. Mihawk is called the greatest for a reason. Mihawk's title means that, narratively, he should be Zoro's final or next to final enemy to overcome and as the swordsman of the crew it's Zoro's job to be the strongest fighter next to the captain. This means it only makes sense that Mihawk should be more powerful than even the admirals, and the fleet admiral.

Did she forget Vice Admiral Momonga introduction was killing a giant Sea King in Sea King turf when the Marine Battleship couldn't damage it?? Cause Momonga was set up as a badass from the get-go to contrast when Hancock messed with him.

Remember Rayleigh also moved away the leg of Kizaru (logia type, same as smoker) without sea prism stone o/

Canonically Moria was much stronger than Jimbei, until he lost to Kaido and fell into a deep depression and stopped training. That’s why Jimbei said “You need to train more”, in this scene-he’s pretty much a shadow of his former self.

Doflamingos speech about justice alongside other world events should give you a good idea of what his motives are when paired with his actions. Also his talk should alude to all sorts of other things that I suggest you think carefully about. (I know a lot of people like to turn off there brain when they watch this show but for Doflamingo specifically I suggest putting it into overdrive.)

A brief explanation of haki for anyone who needs it, be wary of spoilers: Haki can be used as a sort of "armor" that bypasses the intangibility of logias like Crocodile, Smoker, or Kizaru. When a haki coated attack connects with a logia, it will still hit. Haki is the natural counter to logias, Crocodile was just unfortunate enough to have an additional, unique water weakness that no other logia has: because he was covered in water and blood, the sand became wet, too heavy to control

Before Kuma became full robot, he was a double agent. While he does his job obeying the orders of the government, he still does his revolutionary business behind the scens and probably gave Dragon intel on what he knows

One of the thing that REALLY impresses me about this arc, is the absolute insane amount of character desing Oda must have done for it. I wonder if him and his assistants just freestyled it or if they took time well in advance to work out a lot of it.

I'm glad Alicia has gotten so attached to Hancock. It is downright *comical* how blatantly she helps Luffy. She's not here as a Warlord allied with the World Government. She's here as an independent fourth faction who will kick the shit out of literally anyone besides Luffy. And, of course, she fulfilled her promise of coming to Marineford, so now she's going to do whatever you want. But everyone is going to let this slide because... *_She's beautiful._* And even more funny is everyone thinking Luffy took her down in a single "grapple" move.

"how does that work" when Boa kicked Smoker. I'll give you a non-spoiler hint. There's a possibility that it could be similar to how Rayleigh could hit Kizaru, or Marco hitting Kizaru too. Or, it could be something to do with her devil fruit like how water could allow Luffy to hit Crocodile, perhaps her devil fruit being able to turn things to stone helps with this. The part talking about Boa's trauma and how valuable Luffy's affection is. Totally agree, great insight. It's not the actions; but the authenticity of the actions. It's why Luffy fucks her up so much; everyone else in her life can become enchanted easily by her, but it's as an object where they want something out of it regardless of her own feelings towards it. Part of her trauma and defense mechanisms is to use that very feeling against those that feel it; the fact that it doesn't work against Luffy forces herself to become vulnerable to him. Which is exactly what she needed to be able to do in order to move forward. Everyone else, she has these guards and defenses up and tactifully uses others advances against them. She had her guard up against Luffy and tested him severely; which he passed effortlessly. That's why Luffy fucks her up and why his actions are so powerful towards her. She literally can't defend against the authenticity and is forced to accept Luffy's affection after starving herself due to the sheer amount of inauthentic affection she recieves. Regardless of whatever tactics she uses, Luffy will treat her as a person regardless. As Empress, as a powerful opponant, as a warlord, as a slave, as a friend or as an ex-slave; Luffy see's HER. While everyone around her is falling at her feet in lustful submission; Luffy will hold her accountable for bad behaviours and tell her straight to her face that he didn't like it. So she feels it deeply, from the only man who has broken through those walls, because she can't deny it's authenticity. So she makes herself vulnerable, and offers up to Luffy the ability to control and manipulate her. Luffy remains authentic and see's her the same regardless. She gives him the power to destroy her emotionally, would submit completely to him; and Luffy still treats her the same. This just amplifies her feelings towards him. Giving a man (human) power is a test that most fail as power has the tendency to corrupt; time and again, Luffy proves himself as worthy of that power because he doesn't abuse it; it's not even something he contemplates. This just makes Luffy, as a man, uncontendable; and she's seen the worst in men so a man of Luffy's caliber is almost mythical in nature. On top of all that; Luffy is her very first crush and she's from a country that has no men and can offer no advice. I LOVE the psychological depth and development that Oda puts into his characters, and she's not even a main character. Despite this, though, Oda gets shit from people for his depiction of women. I hate this, because it's so shallow. They hate the fact that the women in One Piece tend to have big breasts and skinny waists (read their arguments, it's all comes down to that[after you catch up obviously, unless someone can spoiler proof read it for you]). Haki will literally never be fully explained, we're still learning aspects of it in current episodes but generally the 3 types are only ever named and never fully explained. So far all you've that's been confirmed is "haki" lets you harden things or yourself and negate DF abilities, you can grab logias or even hit someone like Luffy as if they were a normal person. Conquerors is separate and lets you knock fodder out, and there will be a hint at the 3rd type later with Mihawk, all 3 are weird and vague and have story relevant secrets so we don't have explanations.

46:46 I’m not a power scaler myself but I don’t think I’ve ever heard someone be this far off. I think the series practically implies Mihawk is on another level simply by being Zoros endgame and because he has an unfinished duel with Shanks. And based on what we’ve seen from Amazon Lily, we know it takes great strength to have haki but it doesn’t necessarily mean you’re stronger than your opponent.

To be fair though, the series did make the mistake of letting Luffy fight Crocodile too early. And making Moria seem like a joke, despite the fact that it took all Straw Hats working together to win.

SPOILER Yeah, even Current Gear 5 Luffy probably wouldn't beat Mihawk. It would be a very close match indeed, but Luffy's weakness of sword slashes will cost him.
