I m definitely with you, I am not very fond of those loud videos where people talkand talk and scream and try to do all kinds of things to get some personl attention, it can be a little too much, this girl‘ s videos are so interesting and peaceful.

Seeing your processes and all the effort you put into your meals makes me realize how disconnected many of us are from our food. This makes me want to be more hands on and conscious of everything I do and consume, your videos are truly an inspiration!

It’s hard af,it’s very fulfilling,but it ain’t fun to wake up 3:30 am daily to feed ur animals and go to work after that Exactly where do you think the meat comes from? One way or another,it comes from the butchers place 😂 I grew up in country,and there ain’t a life no other this,but there is also wood chopping work,land needs to be made and fertilized,seeds planted,u have to weed things mostly daily,u have to know,if u don’t get any harvest,to survive winter,what is ur back up plan etc It ain’t all jokes and games City ppl would prob tap out the min they hear a pig scream from being butchered or don’t know how or when to even plant

So condescending to tell someone this kind of life is too difficult and they wouldn’t make it. To some people, city life is too difficult and they aren’t built for that. No one needs that kind of negativity and cynicism. No one said it was easy, but it is worth it for many people. Don’t put your limitations on others like that.

I agree with you Annemarie. This kind of knowledge now more than ever should not be lost anyway. Anything we can do, even little things, to be less dependent on grocery stores is good and useful.

This brings back memories. I was raised in the Azores Islands, and it was pretty common to kill your pigs. I got to do a lot a stuff, such as cleaning the skin as it gets burned, washing intestines, playing with the bladder, etc. Love your passion for your culture, and that I get to learn from it!

Outstanding! Your knife skills would be at home in any restaurant and your cooking skills are amazing p. A healthy hearty mountain meal for sure! The sausage making is very unique, never seen it done with strips, always ground. How long does it take you guys to learn all these skills?

Wonderful video. I BBQ almost every night on either a grill or a smoker, so I can really appreciate your methods and ingenuity. I don't know how you keep your hands looking so beautiful when you do so much labor with them. The pork dishes looked absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked.

I'm from the Philippines, we live in a province somewhere in Bicol Region, and I remember in my childhood, we sometimes visit our grandpa who lives near the mountain, and he also used to make those big chunk of meat, and he always cook for us, its tastes so damn good, he said that's what you're supposed to do to preserve a meat, since only rich people have fridge back then, he also used to have a curtain made of a carabaos skin, it was dried, and whenever he wants to make a soup, he just cut a big piece from that curtain, cut it into smaller pieces and cook it patiently until it gets soften, then we have it, a delicious soup made of curtain, LOL 😅, anyway those are precious memories that i will treasure until I die, I missed my grand parents who passed away already. Saf to say those practice are being forgotten nowadays, since our province was getting a lot more civilized now... But I'm so lucky I've experienced such a precious thing, I'm planning to recreate those by the way... Oops! Not the curtain one of course... 🤣

There is a sweet relish you can put in jas made from tomatoes and other stuff my grandma used to make that goes great with sausage. I think it is more Italian though. Also, Parkers Chinese restaurant close to my home town used to have slices of pork cut like that on a lazy Susan type tray. And the Strawberry dackeries we good too but virgin from alcohol because I was a little kid then.

Longmeimei you’re so lucky! You live at most nice place and choice. I wish i could live there at your place and harvest vegitables and all the different fruits and make chicken farm also. 👍😍

Nagyszerű! Mi Magyarok nagyon hasonlóan készítjük el a sertést! Imádjuk a füstöltkolbászt és a sonkát :) a besózott sonkát 21 napig pácoljuk, naponta kétszer forgatjuk. Szikkasztás után két napig füstöljük keményfával. a kolbászhúst daráljuk ugyan, de az őseink ugyanígy darabolták. Ezer évvel ez előtt a kalandozó Magyarok véreshurkát vittek magukkal. Szárított kenyér, szalonna fűszerezett keverékét friss vérrel keverték el és bélbe töltve felfüstölték. ...Európa rettegett :D
