Funcom realized their cash cow over a year ago with the ERP PVE servers having more players who play more often compared to pvp servers which have a revolving door of players so they tailor content towards them. Fly bases and undermesh bases could easily be fixed by having an instant death layer at a certain height but the Norwegian brain cannot conceptualize anything above the most basic coding

They already have a "death layer". Green wall and mesh protection are zones they manually add to the game, so they could just make a zone of the same in the sky.

Pretty sure you answered why the sky bases don't get fixed with your comment about them not caring much about the PVP anymore. Sky bases are only a reality on PVP servers, really. The only reason a base that far above ground would be useful in PVE would be for purges... but, the mechanic of the purges spawning INSIDE the base if there isn't a route from the ground? Ruins any reason to do that. Assuming that mechanic is still in the game with the changes to purges (has anyone checked to verify it still works that way?)

@@gregorybrazell5133 I'm pretty sure if the purge can't reach your treasure coffer you just insta-fail, but I haven't tried out the new system yet so I could be wrong.

The base was actually built the way any base is and then saved and exported. They plan to add different builds in different places in the future. Or well that's at least what they said

What do you mean Conan isn't a RPG? There's an attribute and perk system when you level up., crafting and survival mechanics, a loot system, leveled enemies with different classes. The list goes on... It might be a sandbox rpg, but its still a rpg

He must copy and paste this reply because he doesn't have a rebuttal for why Conan Exiles isn't an RPG. I wrote a rather detailed response indicating much of the same stuff you did and a whole lot more including Wikipedia's definition of a RPG video game. And for the record I have been gaming for over 40 years. I played text based RPGs on a room filling DIGITAL mainframe when I was a kid and my pops would take me to work with him. If we were lucky they had some ASCII maps you could print out with the game. I'd like to think I know an RPG when I play one. It just seems we have a difference in definitions.@@Mahazioth

I think they’re just feeling whatever minimal content they can because their main project right now is the new game Dune and I think they are putting all the efforts in there and they are like just adding small stuff to Conan because well it’s an all game and maybe they are not seeing the value in it. And it’s a shame because I love Conan. It’s one of my favorite games.

even with full resources, a 3 month turnaround on content updates is a big grind for any studio. It's not a lack of effort, it's just too tight a deadline. Spreading it out a bit more is the best thing they can do. Should go with 3 chapters across 4 months rather than 4 chapters across 3 months ideally but at least it's better than continuing along this route where they've pushed their developers into an impossible grind.

Yep they definitely spending more time on Dune, plus they also fixed the 10 month old bug on Consoles, we can finally see the animals again on Siptah. Probably think this will persuade the console community Funcom have constantly neglected to buy Dune. But yeeeah I don’t think so, to little much to late.

They mentioned alliances earlier this year in passing, it was not a big hyped up thing, it had 30 seconds dedicated to it in a stream over an hour long. They're not adding alliances because they decided it wouldn't contribute anything to the game and would create more problems than it solves, not that they couldn't get it done. Fatalities were hyped up a bit more but were not a core feature, it was another small thing on the side: I think they talked about fatalities for 4-5 minutes in that initial stream, and that was it. The core feature was always the pve raid, second the purge, third the tavern. You didn't even acknowledge the tavern at all, despite obvious massive implications it has for progression and gameplay loop in thrall farming. I don't know why you're acting like the pve raid was a small afterthought when it was the key focus of the update for the past 6 months lol. Also what has the pve base size got to do with a player base size..? Absolutely nothing, yet you spend a quarter of your video talking about it. When you're among the loudest voices the pvp community has to offer, it's no wonder they don't bother listening to us: it's a complete and utter waste of time. What they need to do is listen more to their non-content creator testers.

@@Mahazioth Mate you can't even construct a coherent point. Address one single thing I said. Just one. They have testers - regular pvp players, some that ran the most popular and highest skill level pvp servers, some that are modders and have created their own pvp balances. The problem is Funcom communicate in a one-way channel with them, rather than taking suggestions from them. Funcom only ask them about bugs really. If you know much at all about the pvp community you would know this, as it's far from a secret.

PvP ia dead a long time. Theyre Just focusing on PvE folks as they see It as the more profitable community. And lets be honest, Conan PvP community is one of the most toxic and problematic of ALL gaming scene.

Pretty much every rpg pvp community is toxic as hell, there is cheating in every one and always will be. You want a server where cheaters are dealt with, go host your own PvP server and try to admin it yourself. And this IS an RPG game. It may be a sandbox game but it has all the rpg elements. Level system, leveled mobs, bosses, crafting, stat system. I mean, really? That's why when I play any game like this I play it with friends on a private server I get through a hosting service. I'll admit I've only been playing a few weeks but I've been having a lot of fun with my friends and am looking forward to pve raids. It sounds like this guy bitches just to hear himself bitch. For god's sake I hope he never plays Star Citizen or we'll have another GrumpyEye. Guy who says he's fed up with the game but can't stop coming back to make vids complaining about it.

I will stand by my point that Conan Exiles could have been one of the best survival games of all time if they went in the proper direction with it. They are all over the place with their updates and content as of late. They don't know what they have and they don't care.

I have 8-900 hours in this game, they have such a fantastic base gameplay to work with and they STILL manage to mess it up. My favorite survival game and I am 100% dead serious. You can do so much, build so much, take so many different approaches to PVP, PVEC etc., making it better is as easy as just streamlining what was already there. If the devs are lost, they 100% already know which community members to ask for input. It's that simple, man

Judging from the ceronestes video it's because the building pieces auto respawn and sometimes they just keep respawning even though a piece is already there. Wich also means in a spot where there's supposed to be 4 explosive jars, you can sometimes pick up 30 🤣

I think you're judging the game based solely on your gaming style. I see you are a pvp player so, probably, you enjoy a lot of the competitive side of it which might not be the focus for every single update. At the same time, there are players that enjoy the rpg elements of the game or the lore. There are players that enjoy the survival or the building (look at Eradication for example - the channel is all about building and lore). As a pve player, I very much look forward to systems like the tavern and other world updates that might not be of interest for you, which is understandable. I'm also a sword & sorcery and Conan fan, so it's not a matter of "Go play a real RPG in 2023" as mentioned in another comment, but rather just enjoying whatever Conan Exiles has to offer to a player like me. Specifically on the new purge system, I suppose they are trying to make the feature more attractive to players that have it disabled by implementing it in the story. There's usually numbers for things like this. They might have noticed that people have been keeping it disabled too often. Calling the devs out for not understanding the game they're making is a bit unfair imo as the stuff you might find lackluster and subpar might be exciting for someone else. My point is, that you need to keep an open mind about the overall community. It's hard to please everyone (rpg, survival, pve, pvp, building players). Conan Exiles is an interactive experience, a seasonal live service game. It can be many things. Some will appeal to you and some won't. No reason to get too frustrated about it.

Regardless, this update is lack luster, and if this minimal amount of content is all it takes for you as a gamer to get excited, then damn. It's safe to assume you don't watch my content, but if you did, just maybe you could connect the dots. This update, like the last, is just another way to bring along more paid content without giving us actual content. It's very minimal, simple additions to the game that they try to play off for over an hour as being extensive additions to the game when it's not.

im sorry i dont think you dont understand. but the only concern you have your play style as pvp player? every player of conan has a different perfective in the game. What funcom taught me is I can’t invest in any new games they create. I am done with Conan and refuse to spend any money on any new games they create. They do no what they are doing and because of that they are disrespecting everyone.

They do not play their own game, they listen to idiots like xeyr who die to dumb ai rhralls and crys for nerfing of thralls. They're also buying positive reviews. Notice how EVERYTIME they "update" the game and the negative reviews pour in IMMEDIATELY the next day they magically become positive again.

my personal problem with the game is the gab that is between solo / clan setups for pvp ; I love the game! I giga love the PvP in the game now im 4k hours in and I did play since the beginning early acces but I find myself "maining" Dogs of the Desert "training" server cus of the meer unbalance in raiding ; and lack of content so to speak for a solo player ; I cannot raid clans ever ; And they ALWAYS gank me open world :( I wish there could be a middle ground for this, I do enjoy dogs of the desert alot but I also miss some other types of pvp than raiding, its really hard to keep up now adays, back when god bubble was a thing I could atleast be safe in raid hours lootwise.

They focus solely on the part of the player base that spends the most amount of money, old farts role playing cringe shit on their own private servers. Pvp is basically impossible on console and everyone just waits until he gets a chance to offline raid. Not to mention the undermesh and fly bases, what's less of a problem to me it's more the rubber banding and the lags in general.

If your not happy with the state of Conan you can always play another game.

I actually like the idea of hand crafted raid-able npc building, like the POIs in 7dtd. It can give pve players a chance to play around with the siege tools maybe get them inspired to try out pvp. It could be used to add a little life to a server when the population is low. Its creating content for pve from the pvp mechanics, so it should be cheaper and faster for them to develop it. That's a whole other time line though, were on the timeline where Conan Exiles becomes a micro transaction phone app game for PC.

The Devs don't play this game or know anything about it. Just think about it, this is there 9-5, all there friends and colleagues moved on to Dune or w/e new Funcom game, and there stuck here making items for a battlepass for a dead game, because it continues to make just enough money to warrant keeping a skeleton crew. I'm sure most of them want nothing more then the game to finally die so they can move on and do something else. It sucks for us, and it sucks for them. Worst case scenario for everyone involved. The only person that seems to kinda care is the Dennis dude, and just looking into his eyes, that bro looks like he has been beat down and given up. Best case scenario is they straight up stop making content for game, because anything they add just makes the game worse. Do a few final bug fixes, and then take down 95% of the servers, and let the game die peacefully before it really is completely ruined.

Meh.. i hate that they overhaul all the core mechanics… Played a while on siptah during this chapter and only run from one broken thing into the next one. Then rage quit coz it’s so annoying. Taking a fortune for every single bazaar item and then not fix stuff is a no go for me and i will no longer support that. They earned bad reviews on Steam though.

Been playing a few weeks. Having fun with the game. Only got about 160 hours in but so far I have no real big complaints. Sometimes bodies fall through the terrain. Sometimes glitches happen. I have my own hosted server I play on with friends which helps noobies like me avoid, well....people like you it seems. People who, you freely admitted, enjoy griefing new players. Has it ever occurred to you that maybe YOU are the problem. Players like you are almost as bad as the cheaters. The difference is the cheaters grief you like you grief newbies and you don't like it. Funcom wants people to play the game. Obviously PvP isn't working out for you on the official servers. Why don't you get your own private pvp server hosted. You can admin it and ban all the cheaters you find. Make sure you label it noob friendly so you have lots of low hour people to grief. There ya go. You said you wanted some hater posts. Your wish is my command. Honestly I could have just as easily made a post agreeing with everything you said (Except for the fact Conan IS an rpg game. It has all the elements needed for role playing and then some). But good discussion never comes in an echo chamber. One thing I am good at is taking either side of a debate and often say things I don't agree with myself just to get conversation started. So please take nothing I said personally because despite everyone's differences we are all gamers. Ya dirty griefer!

Some amazing reach and assumptions in this one. I was the one who defended smaller groups, solos and newer players to the game, only exception was when they raided our structure or were just plain jackasses. So, what is your definition of an RPG? Something that has a story? Maybe some quests/journey's to do? A player leveling system? Crafting maybe? Stats to put points into when you level? How about a robust character creator? In game emotes? The ability to build places for the sole purpose of interacting with other players while pretending to be the character you made. Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't Conan have dedicated roleplaying servers? You do understand RPGs can still have PvP. We were doing it 25 years ago in Everquest. oooh, ahhh....I guess I should be impressed or something? Doesn't change my opinion. I been around a long time. I remember the first real online pvp games. IMHO the worst thing that happened to online pvp was public servers and lobbies. Back then all the servers were privately owned, mostly by clans. People policed their own. You did not want to get banned from a good server because often they were hard to find and usually always full. You knew the good ones run by serious clans and any cheating got you a mac ban. If you found a way back you were banned again within minutes. Now there is cheating in every online PVP game on any public servers. I refuse to use them. Any PVP I do will be on private servers modded properly. Now, do you have any actual criticism to any of my points or is "We have 5k-10k hours, drink milk, dur dur" all you got? @@kizzaeboa

pvp player here complaining conan exiles isnt catering to the pvp crowd. 13:40 this feature was removed to make combat more continuous for pve/pve-c; again its not an update catered to you as the grey bar did nothing for pve but make every fight feel like a slog especially if corrupted. it would be one thing if they could just throw it back on for pvp servers, or add it as a setting for server hosts, but then youd just fragment the community further between those who like it and those who dont all the while funcom now has to take into consideration a difference in core gameplay mechanics going further; and we all know how bad they are at it given how widly different the wants and needs of pvp and pve/-c communities are. i can agree that the new fort they built is rather lackluster and on the bland side, but i think that was kind of the point. it was more testing the mechanics of it in pve as apposed to building an extravagant or 'functional' base that couldnt be raided at all because they didnt implement the feature correctly. going forward they will most likely add more of these and id be willing to bet those ones will be much better. this is a baby step setting the foundations, not the big "wow" factor update you seem to want to make it out to be. Youre 100% right about the bugs liek sky bases, and the bazaar items being broken, but not everything in these updates should be catered to the pvp crowd when put bluntly you are the minority.

You can't actually tell me you think the change to the stamina was a good thing for either PvP or PvE because it negatively impacts both modes. Where is the fun (which is the reason we all play games in the first place btw) in just rolling around an npc infinitely and never taking damage? Same goes for PvP where is the fun in just rolling around till someone gives up and decides to go home. The game played better when there was an actual cost to excessive rolling / running & If you think otherwise then you really need to get checked for a mental disability.

I agree that this game was clearly developed as a PVP game, the PVE stuff is just there to be farmed. Trying to turn it into a PVE game because they are clueless about PVP is pathetic. They could just talk to their customers but for some reason they just don't want to. I have staffed server admin before, and made mods, done game balancing, etc. on different games. I can succeed at it purely by playing with the people playing there, seeing who understands the game, and taking their input. If you also understand the game it's obvious who those people are. Funcom dudes just dgaf.

YES! Thats what ive been telling the entire time....make a Max foundations build. So not able to spam a server.

So now that they removed the trader npc's for free steel fire, you can simply Farm Bombs ready in jars. sweet. I am loving how nice the game will feel, now with god protection removed, pvp must be a FUN experience vs cheaters and what not.

I become more sad after watching each live stream. They clearly come unprepared (without notes about the most important features), they have no idea how their game works, they barely can answer a few questions, they are never sure when will something be released and it`s obvious that they don`t spend much time playing their own game. Even if they don`t have enough time to answer all the question from the chat, they should make a list and answer everything in the beginning of the next live stream or something like that but they just skip the questions that they don`t want to give an answer to.

all games now are being catered around appealing to casual noobish gamers who buy a game spend on a few bundles and find another game a month later.they don't care about there games anymore, its the do as little as u can, make your game as easy as possible so everyone can be good and cash in. they don't care to spend money fixing shit, balancing, ext... i spent thousands of hours a year playing games and this is all games now days. its sad but i don't know if where going to see good games ever again, sure doesnt seem like it. i played conan for the grind, the challenge of the hunt and being hunted. i feel most pvp players back in the day had that mind set, this game is no longer challenging in any way and has never been fixed, i have zero desire to play again. ive been retired from this game for almost a year and a half but i still love your videos keeping me updated, when i quit i had around 13k hours so this game will forever be part of me lol.

The itch to play lingers but the updates intrusively enter my thoughts and the itch quickly becomes stagnant. You're not wrong. Devs these days just hope to cash in on the hype behind a game and that's about it. Then for the "gamers" (put in quotes because passionate gamers seem to be far and few these days) just wait for the next game to buy, then the next, and the next. People like me who love to sink 1000's of hours into a game, mastering it, experiencing it, loving it, don't make them the most money. For now I will continue to monitor Conan and make videos regardless if they are well received or not. One day I know I have to let it go entirely, but until then, I shall rant. Thanks by the way. I know you have been around since almost the begging of this journey of mine and I appreciate it.

The death of this game was one the biggest tragedies in gaming imo. So much potential wasted, just because the devs can't be bothered to play their own game and/or listen to the community, mainly the PvP community. You can make a PvE mode for a PvP game, but you can never make a proper PvP mode for a PvE game. At least when it comes to survival.

@@alexandrepereira7521 even though it seems lackluster, the pve and singleplayer playerbase has always been the largest. makes sense they go after that group.

Conan in summary for 2024 . Bazar is lacking and overpriced , 5 pounds for a lemon tree. PvP hasent been updated in 3 years , just borrows its balancing and updates from PvE The combat feels unfair and spammy Building is a thing that people still dont know what they can or cant do. Still several exploits that havent been fixed in years that are easily fixable . In summary uninstall the game . If you want pvp play dark souls or for honor and if you want pve go play fallout 76 😊
