i literally just combed the entire house looking for the one annoying fucking beeper at 5 am right now, because my dog wouldn't leave my side and was in a frenzy around the house for some reason, until i finally noticed his spazzing would coincide with a beep. i use this video to test it, sure enough he was freaking out. he even peed on the floor. his legs were trembling like he was in terror, and his heart was pounding. leaving this comment here if anyone sees it in the future

When I open my window at night, I am always guaranteed to hear a loud echoing smoke alarm chirp from one of the buildings on the other side of the pathway. About a chirp per minute. And sometimes a second one comes on and chirps much faster (about a chirp every 5 seconds like yours) but only for a minute or two before shutting up for a few hours.

That’s not always true, smoke alarm batteries can actually wear off, depending on which ones you buy. If you buy cheep batteries, it will chirp.
