Really useful information provided, thank you! By the way what are your thoughts on the EV conversion rebate bill potentially being passed in CA? On an unrelated note, I spoke with you a few days ago about a Model S drive unit you had for sale which you immediately and regretfully informed me you had already sold. I wanted to let you know that from that short conversation you seemed like such a genuine person and I’m glad you pointed me to your content. The information is invaluable and far underrated. I wish the best to you, for you have reignited my drive to tackle my own DIY conversion.

Wow, never heard about that rebate bill in California. I'm in for sure. I just wonder what hoops they will make you jump through. It is California you know.

@@Roadstercycle Yep CA SB 301 is working it's way through the senate now. From the bill summary text the jist of it is: "The rebate issued pursuant to the ZACP would be limited to one per vehicle and a value of up to $4,000". Though you are right it may not be so simple.

Hey Roadstercycle! I was just curious, what is the insurance like for the EV mustang? Do they classify it as a kit car and do they let you do full coverage?? Absolutely love your channel, I hope I can get a mustang converted in the future!

How are your recent swaps going? Any takeaways between the S vs the M3 as far as power and reliability or ease of swap?

The model S swap was totally incredible as far as acceleration etc. The Model 3 swap is a bit calmer but actually more a daily type driver. Still 0 to 60 in the 4 second range. A lot more range too. The swaps as far as time and money are about even. Batteries are always the big cost. The Motors are about the same cost now. I'm building up another S sport motor for another build right now.

@@Roadstercycle Awesome. Are you still doing the Quaife LSDs for all swaps? How would you compare and contrast the AEM vs the EV Controls? As far as I know you are the only person who's used both.

@@cyumadbrosummit3534 Actually I've used AEM, EV controls, Ingenext and Open inverter. For the M3 the Ingenext is king, I've been running it for months now with no issues. Very easy interface, no cruise control yet but coming. The EV controls works good but expensive, we have it in the new Manx dune buggy prototype. Pretty easy interface. AEM, I am running it in my VW LDU split motor build. Expensive, complicated, way too many settings. If you have an AEM tech on speed dial you'll probably be OK. It is not user friendly in my opion. Until they make it user friendly I'm not using them again. After using all of them I going back to Open inverter for my next build. Easy interface and user friendly, not plug and play like EV controls but in EV controls you can't fine tune your system to your car. Open inverter board is not for everyone but I like it.

That is amazing as my annual registration on a Model S PLAID is $1200 per year (even though CA claims to want you to drive an EV). CA is backwards AF.

@@karezaalonso7110 It's just the normal every year car registration that's based on the purchase price. It's for new plates every year.
