Karen did see Smitty as more than her favorite bartender, he became a friend. He knew his stories made her laugh and still felt like he could share them with her, and in her own crazy way she made his tragedies less painful, a match made in dark humor heaven. Brilliant piece of writing, and acting by both of them.

Oh, my God! I laughed so hard I cried. One of the best TV shows of all times! Megan Mullally was perfect as Karen. I just think the name of the actor who played Smitty should've been mention as well in honor of his work. I wonder if the Charles C. Stevenson is still alive.

But she magically came in and did her scene and magically left?? She’s also a singer . And several shows on Broadway look this up. She was on Murder She Wrote. She seems so NYC! But she is not from here! She has that New York sole. I have been on stage before first grade. When I got here it was about :: if your not born here your not a NEW YORKER?? SO AS S PERFORMER( I mostly lived in the village) BUT I DID AN EXPIMENT! I live ( briefly) in all bouroughs ( except staton island) just to SEE!!
