I'm shock for as long as Shinedown has been around that people are just now finding out about them. No offense to anyone it just blows my mind. Brent's voice is so amazing! To me it doesn't matter what he sing he always hits it everytime. This is a awesome cover!!! I could sit and listen to him all day and never get sick of it.. Keep doing what you do Brent

Brent is an old old friend. Watching him today, warms my heart and brings a smile to my face. So many memories.

whooooo, that last chorus when Brent really unloaded was amazing. You could tell he was being rather cautious through the song so he wouldn't offend Kenny, but that ending was AMAZING! Yet another incredible job by the members of Shinedown. *gives a big round of applause to them*

Ten years ago my cousin showed me this song. We talked about addictions, and our struggles. Last week we lost him to an OD. I pray anyone out there struggling can get help.

Kenny is such a cool dude. Both of my folks got a KWS club membership back when he was starting out and really small, which was a one time fee and you could meet with him backstage whenever he was playing. Now that he's huge, he still honors it and I got to meet him. It is really awesome that even though he got really big, if you still have that 3x5 laminated beat up membership card from when he just started, he will meet with you backstage and just chill with you and talk about life.

I have a couple of comments... KWS never got really big, and that is a good thing. I also saw him in small clubs back in the 90's... and I see him play small clubs now and then. Always a great show. Great music from a great guitarist... but I have to give plenty of cred to Noah - he is a superior vocalist and compliments Kenny so well. They have chemistry and it show. My main point is that KWS never really got that big... and I like that because I can see and hear great music in a small venue. I have seen over 100 huge arena filled rock concerts from all of the greats... some of them spectacular and many of them not so much. Small venues with great musicians are where it is at.

bout 20 years ago my dad was at a bar with this girl in illinois and kenny was there and he came up and hit on my dads girlfriend she was like no im with him and he kept coming on to her and my dad was like hey man back off shes with me(respectfully), but he hit on her again and my dad grabbed him by the neck and shoved him about 20 feet back and then almost got in a fight with his security guards, so i love brent smith and his version of this song but just that one story about kenny and i dont like him anymore because that was super disrespectful

Brent you just turned an amazing song into a legendary one with the original artist in the room! Wow! My respect for you is sky high! I grew up on this song and it just became one of my favorite covers ever done.

I have a bearded dragon who always relaxes when I play this song. At least he has good taste in music.

Brent-I tell you what-your voice certainly does justice to that song! And how cool to have Kenny Wayne playing! You got one helluva voice😘

2 things--Brent made Kenny smile when he hit that hard section at the end and Kenny is a masterclass in picking.

I don't always download an album the day it is released, but when I do it is from Shinedown (or at least Smith and Myers).

First track I can stand listening to my own voice & my wine glasses and windows are still intact lol. Phenomenal voice and sound.

Ever since I first started listing to Shinedown I’ve been a fan since and that started 4-5 years ago and Godsmack I started back 9 years ago and when I had the chance to go to the Shinedown Godsmack concert I took that chance. Had planned it with my girl at the time but she decided to bounce so I bounced out to the concert said F*** you I’m still going so I went by myself and had a blast!! Every day I wish I could go back to that night!! Shinedown forever! 🤘🏽

The original singer had a real good southern style.

Awesome version of such a very underrated song IMO. Keep the great covers coming!!

I remember when KWS first came out with this song .. decades ago!! And Shinedown been around awhile now too! My kids thought they discovered NEW bands ... mama been listening since they were little .. must rubbed off on em ... great music!!

I saw Kenny Wayne Shepard at the county fair before he was famous... It was awesome... We didn't even know he was going to be there... We just saw the fair sign and went in. Me and my girlfriend... She's now my wife for 24 years... It was awesome...👍

The smoothest vocals.. I've loved Brent's voice for many years 😍 this song is now one of my favorites.

that solo by Kenny really opened that song up and Brent started wailing on it. that late energy really took the song from 90 to 100.

This is now my fav of the album. At first it was She Talks To Angels... But the more I listen to the album, this is it. Awesome.

It might get caused by the fact that it was also 5FDP that did their own lil remake of the song as well it seems. And well.....while I do have a few songs by them that are pretty nice, after I heard 5FDP remade The Offspring's song Gone Away, I shut them out. Halestorm, Disturbed, recently Bad Wolves, there's very few remakes I'll get behind. Those are the exceptions. Fuck 5FDP's rendition of Gone Away.

For the first time with any of these covers, Brent sang with soul. I have hated every single one until this. I kept saying, "Where the hell is that MAGIC?!" Finally showed some of it here. Wish the entire thing was sang with the power and feel of ending. I miss that aspect of his singing sooooooooo much.

My 7 and 8 year old children now can sing this whole song word for word...we all love it and this version.

Just thought I'd add a comment to those below having the disagreement on Kenny and his song, yes Kenny Wayne Sheppard wrote Blue on Black but, the lead singer was Noah Hunt from Cincinnati, Ohio who sang the song. Brent is doing and awesome rendition of this song, love them both...
