They just knew, it's logic when you have a very controling tv head antagonist both obsessed with something (Vox is obsessed with Alastor and Mr Puzzles with his 5 star rating) both with manners of controling other people and both very prone to media and television, the SMG4 creators maybe even got inspired by Vox to make Mr Puzzles

And ironically, that's part of why his plan failed. If he'd chosen anyone other than the SMG4 crew (especially Mario), he might've actually been able to pull off his plan to get 5-star ratings due to them likely being easier to work with/control. In videogame terms, Mr. Puzzles basically leapt directly into the hardest difficulty setting from the get-go. Although his lack of creativity seems to be an issue as well, or else his work wouldn't all be copycats/parodies of existing works.

There’s actually a pretty good animation on KZread called “ creative control” which is a fan animation. That’s basically like a prequel to the puzzle vision ark and it is really good for how short it is

I was worried the buildup would be for an anticlimactic movie, but I shouldn't worry when its SMG4. I think Mr. puzzles was as good as smg0's story and this is definitely one of the best villain songs I've ever heard!

Ok I think you’re both right. I liked the movie but Mr.Puzzles’s fate was EXTREMELY anticlimactic considering how much they built him up only for 4 episodes and one movie where he barely gets focus for one of them. I’m really hoping that he’s like 0 and that he comes back in the future

Honestly. This is one of the reasons i enjoy modern SMG4 because of their unique talents they put on each and every new episode. And this song is a BIG example. And why i will consider this an indie series for now on! Plus it also shows how much they've improved over the years. The fact this man was there since it’s gotta be perfect which I’m pretty sure now is more than a year ago, proves how much smarter he is than the other antagonists, he’s been playing the others from behind the scenes for so long. In my opinion, he should’ve been more threatening than what he was in the movie, Mario alone defeated him and that kinda doesn’t make sense because…well it’s Mario.

I feel like his menacing feel comes from the fact that more menacing characters were duped and influenced by him. Though SMG4 kinda wrote Mr. Puzzles specifically for comedy. SMG0 was a pure horror character so for me this is kinda fresh from how dark past series as been And he's still better than Lawyer Kong

yes totally, though as a villain I'd put him under OG SMG3 from from his conception to around 2021, Waluigi from the T Pose Virus, and just barely under Francis from the Anime Arc. SMG3 honestly was just hilarious before (still now too in a different way), and was an actual threat to the Channel itself Waluigi was also the first true threat, his motive is funny, and his WOFI song is a little beneath Creative Control Francis was well built up honestly and him being an anime incel is pretty great

He’s one of the few indie villains that actually felt unsympathetic. And I got to be honest. The most well written, Hazbin Hotel and Murder Drones have them too, but they don’t hold up as well to someone you see for a long period of time.

For me he is probably 2nd or 3rd (Debatable with Smg3 and Marty (I don't know if Smg3 counts)) and the best one is undoubtedly Zerø/Niles

So what im getting from this is Mr Puzzles was a man who was obssessed with watching tv to the point where he cut off his own head and replaced it with a tv which gave him powers, and in order to gain full power to do anything he needed to get a 5 star rating on a show. and he chose the smg4 crew to be his puppets to prove to himself that if he can make them entertaining, then he deserved the 5 star rating and can do anything

If I'm being honest, I like Mr Puzzles more. Not just because I see a lot of inspirations with his character (like Vox, Alastor, the Joker, etc), but he's also a greatest example of the running theme throughout the SMG4verse arcs: Ultimate perfection and the risk of trying to reach that

I think SMG4 did that because he had some beef with Mr. Puzzles since he literally went insane in It's gotta be perfect because of him and 2 other arcs happened including WOTFI 2023 all because of Mr. Puzzles.
