Smell Training (Olfactory Training) for Smell and Taste Loss

Ғылым және технология

Learn more about olfactory training or smell training in this educational video by Dr. Pasha.
Anyone who suffers from anosmia (the loss of smell) will be happy to hear that olfactory training has been shown to be 30% to 50% effective in curing it.
As the olfactory nerves regenerate after being damaged (often from a virus or COVID-19), the pathway may be corrupted and improperly “rewire,” causing one smell to smell very different - often rather bad. Dr. Pasha recommends olfactory training to essentially retrain the brain to recognize familiar smells as well as to reconnect your sense of taste.

Thank you for your information. I lost my sense of smell 6 months ago when I had a chest infection. Then I got covid and ,lost my sense of taste, that was so depressing . After a few months my taste came back but I find that I can only really enjoy very spicy , salty or sweet foods,, My smell has never really returned and I get a sense of smelling smoke of and off throughout the day. I lost that smoke smell about 2 months ago but now the smokey smell has just returned, so I will try olfactory training again. I also have a sinus infection so maybe it might be worth seeing a doctor for that . Ps… I also use a neti pot to clear nasal passages. I’m just hoping one day I will get my sense of normal smell back. Thanks again for the video.

Have you found a connection between BMS and olfactory retraining? I have seen that copper, zinc, snd magnesium deficiencies or imbalance at be significant. TY
