Heavy Metal Machine should have sounded like that on the album. This is the band at their best.

@@leob4403 Try, Try, Try is a goddamned good song. You probably don't like it because of the campy keyboard loop. The alt version may be better than the album version, but the album version is better structurally.

@@f3uibeghardt522 well okey try try try is not nearly the worst pumpkins song. Its pretty catchy, it just doesnt have that otherwordly beauty of a thirty three, 1979 or by starlight, nor the full aggression and super groove of a jellybelly, an ode to no one or tales of a scorched earth. It comes of a bit bland to my ears, I could understand some fans like it though

@@leob4403 You know what? You have great taste and seem to understand what made SP so above anything else I've ever heard. If you're citing By Starlight, 33 and 1979 as examples of their intangible and ethereal beauty, you get it. I'd be curious to know if you're as fixated on the outro of Beautiful as I am.

Being a fan of the pumpkins since Gish, I feel Machina was their album where they had the most artistic freedom of expression because they had less pressure. They already hit their highs as well as a tragic rock bottom. All they had to do was put up with Billy’s insufferable personality and crazy hard work ethic. lol

It's crazy to think how old this is. The past man. This era had such an off beat to tge music. It's great, but it's just a DIFFERENT type of rock. It's hard to listen to. Pumpkins is hard to listen to. One of the reasons it's so healing. Helps you process the difficult stuff.

I agree but more than kenny is a good drummer, it is about all the backing musicians with whom they recorded on the adore tours that open was quite expensive, I am sure that jimmy would reach that stage of interpretation if he had invested but machina it was a failure.
