I think the commentator’s reasoning is that being at +120% against Bowser like being at 1hp in a traditional fighter; if your opponent hits you with something as quick or simple as jab... (or in this case side-b, an unblockable move that comes out faster than jab that will kill at ~120% ANYWHERE on stage regardless of DI) ...you will be KO’d.

@@Saotic when bowser grabs someone with his side B he jumps up and flips then body slams his opponent. During his ascend in the air you can push left or right to influence where he lands. This Bowser, the playstyle feels very unorthodox to me. But I like it a lot. Normally, the way I see Bowser being played is very actively with constant movement, relying on his newfound mobility to pick up momentum in the neutral. But we saw almost none of that here. The way LeoN played may not have been especially entertaining, but the strategy proved smart and the execution tight. The amount of time LeoN spent in shield is striking, to put it lightly. His gameplan was totally reactive, waiting for Juice to take the offensive - and Juice was happy to oblige - while simply preying on small spacing mistake and overextensions, punishing mainly with aerials or side-B out of shield. His patience was great, sometimes too great to the point where he'd get shieldpoked for it, but it was ultimately rewarded. It seems Juice just could't figure out how to deal with Bowser's defense and LeoN's punished with amazing accuracy. He connected so many side-B's...

@Rique Best heavy could be a toss up between DK and Bowser. Bowser's fair can kill really early off stage and is pretty safe to throw out. Plus Bowser has a much better vertical recovery than DK. Overall, Bowser's insane speed and weight sets him above the other heavies in my opinion. Calling him low mid or high low is pretty ridiculous.

honestly think the ZSS just couldn't take a chill pill and didn't go for enough grabs. this also really shows that the Super heavies have a rough time getting there foot on the ground but once they do there a fucking wall of course on the flip side there also the some of the easiest to gimp off the stage. it was quite annoying that the casters treated the ZSS as the underdog that ZSS should have tried to carry to the left or right instead of killing off that top so much and tried to set up more edge guard situations that's bowsers main fault. why through a boulder up when you can just drop it off the cliff.
